I wish I knew about the starters before I got my 2019. I thought this would be an issue with all the cars that have auto off feature. is it not related to this?
QQ- I got a new starter from Duralast and followed the steps got everything attached properly. Car started up but when I turned it off there was a loud rattling or maybe grinding coming from the starter area. Is that a DOA starter?
mine just randomly wont start after working fine all day. no codes. everything works great but when you hit start it just does a loud click and doesn't turn over. hope this is what it is. gonna try taking starter out to test it in the mornin. thank you for the walk through
Get it checked out. I just had an issue today on a 2017 pacifica with the same engine. Changed the starter and it still just clicked. Looking into it more there's a few dumb ass issues with the pcm talking to the starter. Check to see if there's a voltage drop at the battery when you try to turn it over. If there's none than there is another issue. I still haven't figured it out yet.
"As you can see".... and completely ignores all the oil & gunk lathered over the starter... which more likely killed the starter prematurely... please get that valve cover gasket changed or you'll be changing that starter again in another year or two.
That must be a junk starter. I have an 06 gm, factory starter, 286k on the car. Only thing I had to do was clean the positive wire connection when the starter was dragging. ✌N ❤
@@bobaganoosh88 Oh yeah, forgot about the merger. Its videos like this that make me feel good about walking out at lunch at never going back to turning wrenches. Thats a crazy spot for the starter.

thanks for the video. Really helping me out today with my Cherokee. My starter just went out on my 2014.
Just because you said, “You guys don’t have to like and subscribe.” I liked and subscribed, most definitely a helpful video though
Thanks for watching!
This is extremely helpful for me. Now I know I'm too stupid and fat to do it myself.
😆 🤣 😂

I'm sure since it'll use the starter way more often.
The more your starter is used. The quicker it will fail
not a chrysler fan but theses are decent cars
Thanks a lot for video man
Love this video
Thank YOU

I would assume yes. Sounds like it's an overrunning starter.
I love you for this

@@bobaganoosh88 I appreciate the feedback I'm just hoping the motor isn't seized up somehow
@@ericwoot2 I wouldnt think so. good luck!
Check the battery autozone told me the battery was good and the starter was bad but turns out it was the battery
Mine ended up being the battery. Showed 12.4v but dropped down to 4v under load.

Oil probably came from cracked oil filter housing. Extremely common thing to happen on these. My self had that and oil leaked onto starter. Killed it.

No jack stands dude and the wheel off?? Alotta faith in harbor freight buddy
Shit you're right! I usually have a jack stand too! Safety 3rd 😆

Is the 2016 grand Cherokee the same ?
Sure is
@@bobaganoosh88 Hey! Any estimate on how much to get the starter replaced?
@@GellieMorris anywhere from 250 to 600 bucks
Hey quick question, to take those 4 10MM bolts off the catalytic converter what tool did you use? It’s in such a tight space
10mm wrench
How?

Aside from the starter issue it looks like it leaks a little haha

They're all complete junk vehicles
Fiat garbage leaks oil everywhere causing premature degradation of the electrical components.

@@franklyspeaking4480 you made the right move bro!
It's because of the stupid stop start BS that saves maybe 1 gallon of gas a year
Here because my daughter owns a 2016 and just called me up to tell me her starter might have shit the bed 😡
It's pretty simple as long as you've got a few tools!
What were the symptoms? Mine is not doing anything besides turning on electrical. No cranking, nothing.
It wound up being just the batterythe amperage drop was too much to crank the engine.@@cdlroho75
There’s only a V6….
2.4 L 4 cylinder
3.2L V6 are both options
