Sand Reckoner Is Actually Useful (Yes, Seriously)

Sand Reckoner is a, ah, extremely undertuned operator. His summons each have equivalent stats to Durin (the 2* caster) and die in 3-4 hits against any ranged enemy. He can't really spam them due to having the wrong module, and his overall damage output is low and made even worse if the enemy has even a little RES.
What he can do, however, is be a summoner in a sub-niche with no summoners. Even the crappiest summons can be placed anywhere, and with a little micromanagement S2 becomes a constant slow for the entire 20 second duration. In a map where slows I have to slow all the actually threatening enemies while Pluma and Astgenne murder almost everything else, global slow presence from Sand Reckoner is irreplaceable. Without him I'd have to either stall the big cat or add more birds to burst it down.
Do note that this map is basically his perfect use case. Not sure how common maps like this will be in the future lmao

La Pluma is actually the best at slowing. She slows enemies to a complete stop, permanently! Yet another reason why La Pluma is the best operator in the game and fills every role, as a jack of all trades, master of everything

It would have made sense for many of the event enemies to be considered Machine type enemies, which he would have liked but I guess this is the only win he's allowed. Like come on the wagons are referred to as constructs? Why aren't they considered Machines... :(

it's insane how we went from cantabile to poncirus to sand reckoner though. guess hg took inspiration from genshin and made a Horus-inspired character undertuned(see: candace)
Always the egyptian gods characters getting the f, at this point genshin needs to give Cyno some god-like module too (instead of calling it "balanced")
If that’s the case, there might be hope he’ll get buffed or be useful(Because Candace is unironically useful after a certain character’s release)

Candace can buff her a bit and with C6 (and ONLY at C6) she can apply enough off field hydro to let Father vape all of her attack
Now Yelan, Xingqiu, Furina exist but Yelan and Xingqiu off field app is not the best in aoe and they can be use in other team while Furina has anti synergy with Father
And if anything Candace is pretty nice in for bloom team (so only Nilou team lol)
And yes Candace at C6 has off field hydro and can also be use in Mavuika team if you want to vape with Mavuika but Yelan/Furina is better for that
When I first saw how crappy Ling's S2 summons were, I feared for the day they'd release a 5* with those ☠️☠️💀

I literally raised sleepknights member as a newbie and not knowing most bosses immune to sleep lmao. I raised Grain Buds, Erato, Iris, and Blacknight. Missing some but I pretty satisfied lol

To me he reminds me of Vigil because on paper his kit should be good but his numbers are a bit too low still built him for maleknights runs in IS though
With a few tweaks he’d be a lot more usable. A little lower SP cost on s2 and make that increase ASPD instead of summon ATK, make his summons slow on hit by default, give him mod Y instead of mod X… it wouldn’t change his damage output, but at least the crowd control would be much better.

your heart is in the right place, but I had a stroke trying to read that 😭 I do agree, though, this event is.. questionable at best, as well as a few other decisions by HG in regards to Sargon. the way they treat the entire region is kinda more and more reminiscent of another popular gacha game, not to be named..
I agree with you. Every other low rarity summoner, including Mayer are at least adequate. I was so excited to see Sand Reckoner when he released because of his artstyle and kit. Fab knight explained very well in his nw 5 star ranking video about how bad he is. Heck, his summons even cost way more dp than Lings with her module and has no summon refresh/recycle. They did my bro dirty 😢
