The simple answer for the trees: There was extremely high wind when they were still very young. The trees were unrooted and knocked over. Since they were still alive, the roots found their way back into the ground and the tree eventually grew upwards again, leaving the trunk horizontal.

That's not the ocean meeting another ocean Pewds, that's an estuary, a river (fresh water) meeting the sea (salt water).
Thats what i thought too but then according to density shouldn't their division be horizontal and not vertical? It's not uncommon for fresh and salt water to not mix much but ive never seen it happen like that. Is that just where the surface levels meet and look straight but underneath its more angled?
