Freezers don’t actually kill bacteria, they just slow the growth of bacteria. That’s why you still have to wash your hands after you touch frozen meat (defrosted or not). I really can’t get over how his jeans must smell like freezer burn and B.O. 😬
To kill bacteria you need to be rocket cold, like liquid nitrogen cold. He could’ve just boiled water and put it all over the clothes then hang dry it as it actually more effective than washing machines and a dryer.

A freezer is at -18 Celsius. At that temperature bacteria doesn't die, it is just unable to reproduce or do anything and if they become unfrozen and are above 5 Celcius then they can start doing everything normally again

The car thing actually isn't all that wrong. I just bought a 2009 Toyota in perfect condition for 6gs. The mileage is lowest, at least for the year and it has no dents dings or rust and one previous owner. They gave me paperwork of all of the maintenance too, which was on point. I thought it was a good deal? I could be wrong. Any car experts out there? Did I get ripped off?

It’s been a while, but I’ve worked on hot tubs, and the water in that will be fucked. As in, it’ll need to be drained and refilled multiple times to get soap out of the pipes and the filters will need to be cleaned or replaced, the amount of stuff to fix it would undo what he’s saving
In France we do have some big brand stores like Carrefour that do deals/cheaper prices on the food that is near its expiring date and I’ll tell you, sometimes when the end of the month comes around it helps a lot

our landlord installed AC last summer and she told us we can save money by using the AC on heat mode during winter. I live in northern Canada where we get -28 C in the winter. the AC is also placed at the front of the apartment and barely even reaches my room to cool it. I would freeze to death when I can just turn on the damn heating in my room. Also most people I know here rarely turn on heating in their houses during the winter and it's freezing cold so you see them wear sweatpants and sweaters just to save a couple of bucks a year? I spend the winter in shirts and tank tops. not to mention not turning on the heat ever increases the chance of getting mold since the houses are made of wood...

Sometimes when I have a pair of sneakers that I wash I put them in the back window of my car so that the sun and heat will make them dry faster and they aren’t just holding water forever bc often putting them in the dryer leads to them getting misshapen or them falling apart
