Running that rich or not getting enough heat in the engine will affect second gear engagement but you can always adjust for that also like you mentioned. I love the jato and presently have 4 of them.
Imo the jato 3.3 is one of if not the best Traxxas Rc cars period, atleast the best Nitro Traxxas. Its chassis and transmission paired with that trx 3.3 motor makes it imo the most exhilarating and fun Traxxas. A real disc brake, Traxxas Ez Start, Rwd, 2 speed automatic, tsm, a unique suspension and steering design that eliminates bump/torque steer ie improving handling, paired with the trx 3.3 engine and that really nice looking body makes this rc car perfect and very unique, super fun on the dirt and anywhere really. This car is loved by everyone who sees it, even if they don’t know what an rc car is. just take it to a park and everyone will be looking at it, even my mom and littlest sister wanted to give this thing a go.
It's will go way way faster when tuned right and if you really wanna go fast buy a OS 11k 21tm carburetor and steel 20 tooth clutch bell with 40 tooth spur gear, but I'd recommend HR steal transmission gears. It will scream.
The Jato can go at least 70 mph. But it is not the fastest. The Nitro Foretech can run 100 mph, and I believe I had heard of an even faster one now. I could be wrong on that.
Is the foretech still made though? I’ve never heard of it before and I just looked it up but I can’t find anything on it. Very possible I just got that wrong too😄

Very cool!
Thinkin about getting one myself.👍
Get it, you won’t regret

I love mine, waiting for the next one 🎉
I wish nitros didn’t decline in popularity like film photography, otherwise imagine the R&D Traxxas would have for nitros today.

The 4-tec were faster. Unfortunately, they dont sell them anymore.

I have a 4 Tec new in box well on my shelf.
the answer is yes
It’s too loud,messy and it needs a lot of maintenance…Electric is King👍🏼
That’s fair I mean it’s not for everyone that’s why both exist!
Electrics instant torque gets old rebuilding diffs. Nitro has its place and will probably make a comeback.
Nothing can't beat the sound speed and pleasure of the Jato🎉🎉🎉
