    ok i made it here from the city pop compilation you just released and i think i see now why that section starting at 2:08 grabbed my ear. Forgive me if im wrong but am i sensing a latin kinda feel here?
    It didnt hit me until a few repeated listens of this awesomely infectious track but theres something spanish or latin about that section in particular imo. Either way thanks as always for putting me onto new music!

      @@Keychain- you’re not wrong! Takanaka takes a lot of influence from Latin music, and employed a lot of Latin musicians as well. not only that, but the rhythm in the section you’re referring to is one of the most distinctive building blocks in Latin music, the clave rhythm (or, in this case, the first half of it, known as the tresillo), so it’s not surprising that it gave you that impression :) good ear!
