Alright Tom! Just a suggestion for your next urban mission. A good compromise to check out would be electricians safety trainers. They are light and flexible, but also have a composite material toe protection and a tough sole. Might be worth a look. Looking forward to more of these anyway mate.

I love that people look like they know what they are doing and where they are. Like the boat guy at 19:00. Everyone expects him to say no because he doesnt have to help, instead he says no since he can hardly steer the thing and is worried about crashing and continues casually floats down the channel. Felt like he was doing a challenge as well.
I felt like I was watching the latest series of Taskmaster (it's on Channel 4) again, with Jenny Eclair shouting "Brace! Brace!" just before crashing a barge into a wall.😅😅
He won't have been lying. Narrow boats are easy to make go forward, but easily crashed. I've sailed one before. We came across a slightly larger one in a canal that had crashed and was span about 80⁰ the wrong way and was stuck, it's really easy to do if you aren't used to them. Me, my mate, and my dad had to help unwedge the boat. He also wouldn't have been able to simply stop where he was, there aren't exactly brakes to immediately stop. He will have genuinely just not been able to help them lol.
I'm from Germany and when I went Birmingham for a concert I thought of everything I learned about it from this channel. A week later and this gets uploaded, it couldn't get any better than this!
Wonderful.. this is what kids used to do before computer games. I have fond memories of exploring derelict buildings, sewers, railway tunnels, urban rivers, factories, disused MOD land, etc.. and getting chased many a time, which was all part of the fun. These adventures have taken me straight back to that excitement.. well done!!!
The boat on the canal was like a really entertaining and dumb version of those riddles about getting stuff across the river. Did you consider in hindsight that you could have brought the string with you on the first trip across? 😂
@@zay-ju8fb think they intentionally avoided that to make it so that they didn't technically need Ed there. I'm still undecided wether I like this format more or the straight line missions. They both have their own appeal and unique sense of adventure. Greetings from Germany and keep the missions coming!
I have to say I really like the No Roads Missions, it is how I found the channel. Personally I'd be interested to see how large a city you could do a pure No Roads (as in no crossing of roads at all) or if it is totally unfeasible as when the city gets smaller it has less bridges or adjoining roofs.
Small enough and you could do it just by following one body of water (river, creek, etc) from one side to the other. Maybe there's a middle point where it gets hard, but I reckon the hardest would be a large north american city like Toronto or Manhattan where it might genuinely be impossible.
@@BraydenSMoore Most cities have a river running through them so you could do most of them like that. You could do London by just following the Thames river path but that would boring. Not using the Thames in London would be 100% impossible because London has very little unused land and a lot more city. I would say Birmingham is probably the largest city in Western Europe where a no roads mission is possible simply because of the unused land and abandoned parts.
Growing up around Warley Woods and now living in Harborne, was surreal to see you starting your mission over by my old stomping grounds. Keep doing what you're doing man, best content on RUclips by far.

You inspired us to have a go at something like this and we can see some of the bits we did in this vid. We traced the source of the river Rae in the Waseley Hills to the city centre. It was bittersweet, seeing Birmingham at it's best and it's worst at times. Keep inspiring us. Love your vids.

the childhood reminiscing definitely explains a lot, and is very relatable lmao. dont personally have the option to continue it in adulthood as my partner in crime is no longer with us but it's certainly nice to live vicariously through these videos, thanks lads
Having spent the first 20 odd years of my life growing up in south west Birmingham, it was cool to reminisce with you when seeing some of the places you went through here. The Hagley road, harborne, and of course Brindley place. Even the absolutely abhorrent Railway pub, was somewhere we used to go to drink as peppy 18 year olds going out in town for the first time
35:38 and that is how security breaches happen. Tom, you probably have a pretty good career red team security tester. Sneaky and affable, lethal combo 😂
the platinum/gold rule probably mostly exists so there is still enough incentive to not deviate too much from the line. "No roads etc" isn't really feasible 100% like he explained, as it's necessary to go a bit left and right. So how much should be acceptable? It doesn't really matter after all, but it typical Tom to put a score on this once again :-)
The original rules said he couldnt go more than 25 meters down a road. Adding a gold category means he doesn't instantly fail if he has to walk further than that. So it's almost like there already was a platinum category, he's just giving himself a little more leeway instead of platinum or nothing.
Nothing better than a Bobby that can turn a blind eye to what may _technically_ be wrong but clearly isn't. I've a friend like that in the local constabulary but I'll just leave that there. 😂
Absolute classic Tom! Had me crying with laughter from the start! Your canal crossing, Tom says, n "I should be wearing a Life Vest?" and Uncle Ed says it's ok , you've got high vis on! Nearly wet myself!
I really admire all of those brick fences with the rounded cap bricks...I find those amazing because they seem to be everywhere and still in perfect condition... Here in Canada and US we got one type of brick....a rectangle.. and yet each company frustratingly makes a slightly different size!
I joked to my partner that we should buy a border house so we could bump into straight line runners, but at 6:00 my house is on the starting map 😂 those odd little messy grass bits are all over the place by us. Ha - you even used the Harborne walkway railway - you could have followed that from Hagley road with very little changes to route! Calls the estates dodgy and drinks in the f’n Railway 😂 that’s the dodgiest place I’ve ever seen you go
Glad to see Ben on another adventure. Also uncle Ed is a great addition to the team! Can't wait for part two, it's been a brutal 2 weeks at work and I'm finally catching up on some RUclips.
Love these missions. You should definitely have some of the Storror boys on for one of these missions. Also found it funny that you made Ben climb the gates as well rather than opening them from the inside when possible 😂
That apartment you went through where you had to wait outside the door is where a few Football players used to live, my family used to have a cleaning service that would do a few of those apartments and the mailbox. Didn't expect to see it!
the straight line mission videos are awesome, but I enjoy these urban "no roads" challanges so much more! so many interesting and exciting obstacles! thank you for doing this, I'm always hyped as fuck when I see you uploaded one of these!
I absolutely love your channel only came across it a couple months back and can’t get enough. I hope you do more maybe in different cities. Have a great day
So stoked for this. Now i just wanna see a "straight line" mission across England that uses the cities. Maybe a new style where you can deviate half a mile and still be in platinum. That could be interesting. But very very hard.
That seems extremely easy. Half a mile is a long way. I'd rather he just keep these series separate. They're both already great, there's no need to over complicate them.
Don't know how I missed this but these exploration vids are some of my favorite videos on youtube! It lets those of us that are not from Great Britain see it as if we were there ourselves!
I'm a courier and had a delivery to the very apartment building you had to wait a while to be let into. I had to wait a while too for the guy to collect his item. Ps I'm from greater London. Another great video Tom✌️❤️👍
This was absolutely magnificent. I stumbled upon your channel with geodetective (dont even know why it got recommended) but i really enjoyed this as well. Very back to childhood type of adventure. Also nice to see you have such a good relationship with your brother.
Jeez seeing the sea-life centre instantly transported me to being a 4 year old on a school trip! Excellent adventure, I look forward to seeing the conclusion - you got me hooked! Also big up Uncle Ed!
Love to see you doing more stuff like this. And finally you're wearing some work pants and hiviz jackets. Especially in the city while trespassing, hiviz clothes will have people believe you belong there. The camo gear is actually more suspicious.
Hell yeah! Home from a gruelling 4h drive to crack a beer and see this upload. Big up as always Tom, such a joy everytime you upload. And home turf too!
Hey Tom! Met you in the Lexington on your mate's stag. I remember telling you one of my favourite series was the black country one. Super stoked to see this one!! :))

Having spent the first 20 odd years of my life growing up in south west Birmingham, it was cool to reminisce with you when seeing some of the places you went through here. The Hagley road, harborne, and of course Brindley place. Even the absolutely abhorrent Railway pub, was somewhere we used to go to drink as peppy 18 year olds going out in town for the first time
Get in mate! So pleased to see the old school and classic 4:3 video format back. Its simply superior. And cheers for another interesting mission Tom❤❤
35:38 and that is how security breaches happen. Tom, you probably have a pretty good career red team security tester. Sneaky and affable, lethal combo 😂
Love these ones. You didn't need to do the gold/platinum thing honestly, it was just no roads etc
yep exactly my thoughts too
Yeah not necessary. Platinum/gold only existed because it was a straight line.
the platinum/gold rule probably mostly exists so there is still enough incentive to not deviate too much from the line.
@@drewwilliamforbush2927 yeah, but it looked like he applied that to the entire route, not just road crossings, or did I misunderstand?
As a regular user of the Harboune walkway and summer field park. I'm glad that these bits of brum met with your approval.
What a freakin mad mission
Another masterpiece, very nicely edited.
I'm from the Black Country and I love thise so much! I've always loved the rule breaking
This is so easily the best stuff on youtube right now. Please never stop doing these wild missions.
Love seeing you and your brother together having a good time!
As a WMP bobby and proud patreon member, I approve this mission
Nothing better than a Bobby that can turn a blind eye to what may _technically_ be wrong but clearly isn't. I've a friend like that in the local constabulary but I'll just leave that there. 😂
@@alexg1778 thing is that you dont KNOW if someone is breaking in with intent of stealing or vandalish or something like that
@@MinerBat Trespass isn't a criminal offence, it's civil.
ACAB
When was last time you hop over some fences to get some one for smoking weed
I'm just glad you are using the old video format that you are known for! Love it!
Absolute classic Tom! Had me crying with laughter from the start! Your canal crossing, Tom says, n
"I should be wearing a Life Vest?" and Uncle Ed says it's ok , you've got high vis on!
I'm so lame, I had never heard of them before and honestly thought he said 'Dora eat your heart out' as in Dora the Explorer! 😂
There's a video on Storror's channel of them doing a straight line mission Tom gave them. It's a fantastic watch :D
Ah yes, just two thirty-year-old men hopping the fence to Lovewood's Boys School. Premium content mate!
This is seriously my favorite episode in awhile.
So much fun!!!
That apartment you went through where you had to wait outside the door is where a few Football players used to live, my family used to have a cleaning service that would do a few of those apartments and the mailbox. Didn't expect to see it!
Best ever! i adore any of these series! looking forward to seeing the next bit! :) reminiscent of the most favorite "straight line" Missions!!
There's something about the aspect ratio that I just love lol
I love that these missions are the perfect balance of outdoor adventure, nerdy geography, and punk rock law breaking
Still yet to find any RUclips videos even half as good as your missions. 😍 This episode was intense, got my adrenaline going! Love it!
37:52 that guy's reaction, fantastic camera work and editing!
You, Ben and Ed are great. Keep up the good content. Cheers
good to have Ben back!
I absolutely love all these mission videos. Best thing on RUclips!
This is probably my favorite type of mission you've done! Really glad to see your brother in it too. Big ups!
Ben's short story was hilarious! Thanks for sharing
Never stop this type of content Tom it's very very entertaining
your brother and uncle are class, top blokes
the straight line mission videos are awesome, but I enjoy these urban "no roads" challanges so much more! so many interesting and exciting obstacles! thank you for doing this, I'm always hyped as fuck when I see you uploaded one of these!
It would lose the point and concept of the "straight line" mission deviating half a mile.
@@kevingreene6624 Especially as he's allowed to walk along roads in straight line missions, definitely no need for half a mile.
How about if he crosses all cities in the UK without using roads, but also has to travel between them in straight lines haha
What would be interesting is if he did the real life geoguessr thing again
These are so fun to watch. The company of your brother and your uncle helping out is great too.
Very cool adventure! Looks like the second half of this journey is going to be just as exciting and fun, thanks fellas! 🍻
Also nice to see you have such a good relationship with your brother.
absolutely brilliant content! Every single adventure is such a treat!! I cannot wait for episode 2!
Go on lads 💪🏼 love the content. Instant fan from runcorn. This is how we got about as kids. Roads were the enemy
Jeez seeing the sea-life centre instantly transported me to being a 4 year old on a school trip! Excellent adventure, I look forward to seeing the conclusion - you got me hooked! Also big up Uncle Ed!
Glad that you’ve gone back to original aspect ratio - much appreciated!
That face from the bartender at the end had me rolling hahaha
Love to see you doing more stuff like this. And finally you're wearing some work pants and hiviz jackets. Especially in the city while trespassing, hiviz clothes will have people believe you belong there. The camo gear is actually more suspicious.
Hell yeah! Home from a gruelling 4h drive to crack a beer and see this upload. Big up as always Tom, such a joy everytime you upload. And home turf too!
"Welly it, mate" That free kick was a peach
Hey Tom! Met you in the Lexington on your mate's stag. I remember telling you one of my favourite series was the black country one. Super stoked to see this one!! :))
1:00
You just reminded me of my childhood by showing BRUM. Jesus how could I forget him!
Glad to see Ben has recovered from the trauma of Wales 3 and is out there adventuring again.
1:01 That Brum clip brought back so many memories, never knew I was watching Birmingham as a kid
That preview of whats still to come looks nasty (but probably fun to watch) 😂
You're killing me with the spiked fences...you're out of your minds :D I can't even watch these parts.
Greetings from germany
Hi Tom, I just wanted to tell you that I love your videos and your channel overall. I joined back in 2020 through your iconic GeoGuessr epic guesses montage, but stopped playing back in 2021 because the game is just not as funny anymore (let's be honest). I still watch and love every single adventure video you upload, and they have helped me through my hardest times, they're actually really inspiring. Anyways, I'm gonna enjoy this masterpiece while I eat dinner. Keep it up!
29:26 I’m loving the GeoWizard / Storror feud. And waiting for Tom to join them for a training session so that they can pay him back for the line he set for them.
