This video is so awesome, I’m glad that you have very specific examples that illustrate the problem and then you do a time lapse revision of the board right after.

안녕하세요! i'm a Korean subscriber of yours. I've been watching your videos really well and they r realllyy helpful for me. Since u mentioned to speak out if there's anything curious about, i always struggle on doing action scenes. I keep on analyzing on action scenes to improve myself but it's still very hard.. I know there aren't any secret ingredient or dragon scroll to get better but still! Is there any tip on doing good on action scenes? How did u study on those genre?

Hi, you're the one who helped me find this! I'd just love to say thank you to you and the creator of the video! This is extremely helpful :) they explain it so well and I'm not left scratching my head in confusion. And your playlist has a lot of videos to work off of and take notes from, especially advancing storyboards for bigger projects.

I'm so glad to have found this channel! I have a question. Do Story Artists need to know how to do 2D animation? I keep hearing mixed answers on this. Some say that you don't need to know how to animate, but rather having good draftsmanship, doing film studies and learning cinematography is what you should be focusing on. While others say that knowing how to animate can help with better character performance in your boards. So I'm stumped. I want to make boards, but if I have to put storyboarding on hold to learn 2D animation first, then I'll do that. What are your thoughts?

Having an understanding of 2D animation doesn’t hurt, but I wouldn’t say it’s necessary to be a good board artist. I don’t enjoy animating but I do practice gesture drawing in multiple key frames and angles and that’s helped my draftsmanship a lot

I work in TV primetime animation and I always get the opposite "can you make it more flat" and the only cinematic style they want is Wes Anderson... they also say the composition is "too stagey" (it's too contrived and unnatural) a lot, but they want more Wes Anderson who is the most stagey director in history... Then my next big notes are to "draw sketchier or else Korea will just trace your boards" and "can you clean up your boards so Korea will know what to draw..." in the same sequence from the same director or producer. and I love, "my only note is that you're making everything go left. Can we keep everything the same but see how it is if everything goes right? That shouldn't take long, right?"
