With any major cheap (Chinese) equipment I always tear it completely apart and put it back together before even trying it. I consider it part of the cost, basically building and checking it myself. Stuff tends to last a lot longer that way.
@@crazyfeller5704 I'm have to check that one, I think I may have one. I'm thinking one if my partner 5000 spares will work. I think they are the close or the same as the 272 coils. Will be a fun project I think!!!!
Getcha a 272 coil bud. The newer style 3120’s which I would imagine is what they cloned there shouldn’t need much done to flywheel but of course you never know til you’re there.
@@daninuesca3801 if it's like the 372K cut off saws, there is a check valve inside the crank web that leads to the clutch drum bearing. For the concrete saws it sends a bit of oil to the bearing to keep it lubricated. Not needed on a chainsaw tho since it has plenty oil in that area. But I just Epoxy it on the saws when I find them.
272 coil is what you won’t on an oem 3120 stock coil fires at 23° before tbc. Stationary timing. 272 coil should move you to 25° give or take which should give you room to advance it a few more degrees or so.
Awesome man..glad to have you being part if the channel 👍🏻 I order bicycle handle bar wrap off of ebay with the sticky back, I don't like the non stick style.
Thanks for the vid bro. Been wanting to try out a neo tec or holzfarma saw. How's the quality of the neotech saw? Have you tried any other clone saws and if so, how does the quality of the neotech compare to the others.
@@rjc9000 The Neos are pretty good, def gotten better over the last few years. But the Holzfforma/Farmertec clones are better IMO and I've had much better luck and less issues with them. But the NeoTecs are right there close to so either will be a good choice.
Dubb the OEM 272 coil will work on that saw , there's a guy Donny Walker talks about doing carb mods , and dual port the muffler and those things wake up big time .
Well... I have size 7 fingers with size 8 finger joints, the size 7 won't fit over the joints, so it's a give and take thing with the size 8. I've had the same ring on for 13 years and actually just got a new Silicone one for Christmas 🎄 👍🏻
I didn't see anyone talking about the oiler in the comments, so I'll tell you what I know- even if you already know it... So, on the OEM setup, it is designed to ONLY be used while the saw is actually running and chain is turning. It is NOT an auxiliary oiler. It is an open flow type of setup. While the saw is running and the chain is turning slowly, you press the flow control in and down, the cable pulls and engages the oiler to stay fully open. At least, I THINK you have to push it in but not 100% certain about pushing it in. The lever will stay down and not come back up when it is fully engaged. The only time you would use this is during large milling operations so that you have maximum oil flow. When you no longer need that open flow, again while the saw is running and chain is moving slowly, disengage the lever. When I first got my 3120, I had to repair that lever because the previous owner had pushed on it trying to engage it while the saw was not running. The clutch drum needs to be spinning and turning the oiler so it will engage. I found the 3120 to be VERY similar to a boat. I had two days of joy. The day I got it and the day I sold it. They are just stunningly useless. Far too big to work with and then when you do need it... WHOA... that's a hard days work! But since you will be building it for racing, I'm sure it will be a blast. I'm in no hurry to have another one, even if there is a race class for it. I will probably stay away from that class entirely unless I can get one for free.
👍🏻 You are the man Boedy!!! Great info and I didn't know that about the oiler, thanks a million, I'll have to give it a whirl. It's definitely a big MoFo and would be a bear to work with even if that's what you needed. But yea this one is gonna be a bit fir work if needed, but for fun and the race mainly. Hope your move is going well man.
272 coil was like direct swap. It seems a little advanced if anything, but doesn’t pop so it can’t be much. Front av mount fell apart almost instantly. One of the starter dogs was bent. And the flywheel is farmertec lol. Can’t talk about carb as I never even ran it with that carb, immediately put my methanol tillotson on which is almost a direct swap also.
I cant hardly wait to see what you do with this one. Im wanting either this one or the 888.
And congratulations on getting one you've been wanting for awhile

The 8120 does not have the oil passage in the crank.

How many folks are going to try or send out the carb for high jet work?
