I would throw Sean Mcvay in this conversation. His play-calling ability is comparable to Shanahan and he’s won more in the same time span as Kyle.

They act like Kyle is some type of wizard. Andy Reid is better. More experience, more versatile overall. Other guys like Mcvay, Ben Johnson, Matt Lafluer, Kevin O Connell, Zac Taylor, Kevin Stefanski, Shane Steichen all are great play callers and designers.
Ben solak is a nerd that knows little to nothing about actual football.
I love Kyle. I’m a Niners fan. It’s true, Kyle is a great innovator and a lot of people run concepts that he popularized. Andy Reid has taken some thing from Kyle but it’s also vice versa. Andy is better at adjusting game plans to the opponent while Kyle is more stubborn in his ways.

Shanahan is the Spoelsta of the nfl. Give him anything and he’ll make it happen. At the same time always that one pieces short aka QB or another all star for Miami.i know Spo won but if Kyle had mahomes he’d win too 😂

Kyle took Jimmy G to a superbowl. He's got Purdy in the superbowl. In 5 years everyone will wonder how the hell he did that. Taking 1 half a$$ QB to a superbowl is crazy. Taking 2 of them ... is beyond nuts. I know Sean took Geoff & Stafford but those guys have seen the playoff's without Sean. Jimmy G & Purdy won't ever sniff the playoffs and it says how good Shanahan really is.

If they don’t win this Super Bowl. The narrative down the road will be that Kyle never had the QB to take him over the top. However, I also think Kyle is like Thanos…..”I’m better than you all and I can prove it by beating you all with an Average QB”. Nothing against Purdy who has been good, but the Shanahan System just makes QBs a thousand times better.

It just makes the Trey Lance debacle all the worse. That was them trying to get a game changer, but there are less than 10 of those in the league.

Yet we spent a few picks on a qb who couldn't be anything butbthe opposite of average

Seems that way with the Falcons too. Made the most of Matt Ryan's 2017 along with a run game and Julio still very strong. But in his current situation where he more influence on how he wants his offense talent on the roster, he's in a min/max situation where he's trying to eke out the most with a QB who can play in structure but has legs/aggression along with the top offensive group of talents in the NFL. Credit to him he's also evolved his tactics/design as he gets 'better' pieces. CMC made the offense versatile in 2 RB formations along with being able to spread out. Plus being able to run more than just outside zone.

This is such an asinine question.... Andy Reid is the defining offensive coach of the past decade. Shanahan hasn't won diddly, lost in embarrassing fashion more than once, and doesn't sniff the resume of Reid. Shouldn't even be a conversation

I know you guys are tad young but the innovation reminds ya of Bill Walsh and what he did to the league all those years ago. I hope (cause I’m a Niners fan) Kyle wins a bunch of trophies and can be mentioned with Bill for changing football.

Andy Reid is the defining offensive coach of the decade, not Shanahan…

    Incredibly disrespectful to Andy.

Not since it is a) only talking about the last decade where the Shanahan tree has been much more dominant than Reid’s tree, and b) he has never had a Mahomes.

I listened to The Ringer’s NFL show for years. I stopped listening when Solak became a mainstay. I’ll be back as soon as his absolute garbage takes and grating personality are gone. I wish the goofball would stop surfacing in my algorithm
