UPDATE and BAD NEWS:(9/2/2020): These elevators have been SLAPPED by an unknown generic company (possibly Tamiang, judging by the fixtures and their KONE-like chime). The elevators now have bigger LCD indicators inside. The mod is just a slap-on mod as the cab is still original. The current GoldStar indicators outside are now dead. The service elevator is still original.
I know already from TG97Elevators. I don't know why a lot of building owners in Yogyakarta (and probably Solo as well) tends to choose generics for modernizing their older elevators.
They must have think for the short term solution, I think, because the old GoldStars tend to have fast and unforgiving doors which is unsafe. I once almost got sandwitched by the doors on one of the elevators because the door bumpers needed to be pushed harshly in order to make the elevator doors reopen. Meanwhile, the Gramedia bookstore located not far from it has been renovated and has one new elevator with white digital segments, which I suspect is a SIGMA.
I just hope the one and only elevator in the old Mal Malioboro won't get modernized or replaced. If they really want to replace it then I hope they will do that with a Schindler 5500 (like the one in the new building). Also hoping the one at Wisma Hartono will stay longer.
@@idl3k_elev : The ones at Wisma Hartono still survives as of now. With the Galeria Mall elevators being modernized (except the service elevator), there're now only 2 buildings left in Jogja that has GoldStar *public* elevators. Wisma Hartono, and GQ Hotel (two LVOs, installed in 1996, still survives until now). Galeria Mall, Malioboro and Melia Purosani still have their GoldStar service elevators intact.
Also another GoldStar which have long gone was at Sheraton Yogyakarta, but those can be tolerated since the building was badly damaged by the 2006 earthquake and they had no other choice than to replace them. They were replaced by Schindler since then, probably into 5400 AP.
IDLift3000 one was the scenic goldstar in mangga dua, and the other one was grand Hyatt (which sometimes predoor the opposite way because it sometimes overruns the floor)
Came here a few times, these two elevators are now derelict. Their entrance on B1 has been blocked by a portable banner, both elevators are now parked at B2. Strange, just strange - while other malls have reactivated its elevators, this I think is the only mall in Jogja still deactivating the passenger elevators.
@@idl3k_elev : Considering how run down this place is now, I think so. Tenants are still here but visitors tend to decline. Idk if their generic-slapped Hyundai is also derelict.
Timothy said the scenic elevators have been working again shortly after he filmed the service elevator which in turn was switched off which is strange. Apparently he isn't aware with the Hyundai elevator in this mall as when I asked him about that he thought it was the ones at Bethesda Hospital across the road.
@@idl3k_elev : Hmm...if that's the case then perhaps the management decided to make all the elevators "take turns". If the service elevator got OOS, then the scenic elevators will kick into action, and vice versa. Pretty sure they use the panoramic lift as a temporary service elevator if this is the case, but they might also utilize the Hyundai (if it is even working, see the reason below) The Hyundai elevator is actually located in a verry narrow alley to the right side of Matahari. I'm not sure if it is also derelict, but I suspect it is since the rooftop floor is now unoccupied due to the fact that its sole tenant, Canting Restaurant, has now gone down and dusted (source: Google Maps and their social media). It replaced a derelict GoldStar with telescopic doors and I recalled the HOP was already stripped off back before Hyundai replaced it. Too bad some unknown generic company tampered with the elevator - first only modding the external indicator, then the internal indicator as well, without replacing Hyundai's iconic two-tone LUXEN chime. The Hyundai across the road has indeed been replaced into Volkslift, which is a shame. Perhaps because the interior of the elevator is too spooky and one of the two elevators have a banging door upon opening.
Interesting, I thought the Hyundai is an additional elevator. I remember seeing that elevator near the entrance at the basement parking but didn't even get the chance to call it as we were in a hurry, but it doesn't even matter anyway. Does the other Hyundai in Bethesda Hospital still original? My friend told me that there are newer Hyundais (probably STVF) in one of the buildings. I don't know if there are actually non-Hyundais within the hospital compound.

I've been in one that does predoors. That's rare on these types of lifts.
Now that's very unusual fo a low-rise GoldStar.

Update: While the scenic elevators remains original, the new Hyundai elevator (non scenic) has been *slapped* with generic Chinese fixtures :(
