I adore "Winnie" - she's the best! How could I not subscribe to her channel when her content brings me so much joy? Keep up the great work, Winnie! Your elegant face on my screen always makes my day. I'm definitely going to try this recipe myself. My mom has always hated this soup because it doesn't use any oil and apparently looks too much like peppersoup. But I'll give it a shot, even on a student budget.
It will be my first time trying this soup. I’m planning to prepare it for my husband this week. Wish me luck. 😊 I will try it exactly as in this video. Thank you 🙏
Good thing my mom is anambra woman, this soup is something I eat a lot at home and never get tired of it (especially with catfish). If you haven't tried this soup, you're missing out 😋😋
Your presentation skills. Awesome. I love the details and the way you explain everything to your audience. Weldon. I hardly subscribe to food channels.but I couldn't help but do so now . Weldon
Ofe nsala is going to end up as my favorite soup. I love the soup. Have never made it, only bought a few times and it's to die for! 😁 Now I have the recipe, I'm definitely trying it out. Is ogiri same as iru?
@@amarachiiwuagwu9377 more than half of the ingredients she tagged as authentic were sea foods. I am especially particular about the crayfish(I can't have that either) so wouldnt that like take the authenticity away from it
I love your kitchen settings. I think the garlic isn't a general ingredient. Uda, olima, ezulu etc, are best used to give it the original vibe. Nice process though.
My dear Winifred, I most definitely will try this. It looks sooooo delish. Thanks for sharing. My husband is going to try this whether or not he likes it 😂😂😋
It's really nice but why omitting the main Nsala soup natural ingredients which is uda(negro pepper), ehuru seed(Africa nutmeg) and uziza seed( Piper guineense/Ashanti pepper).... With all these natural ingredients, the nsala soup will taste better❤. I'm from Anambra State.
I'm a Yoruba lady but love this recipe but my question here are; What other thing can I use to soften the yam? Can I pound the yam with pestle and mortal? I'm so sorry to ask this question it's because I don't have blender o
Chinny chinny cooking is to be creative we all don't cook in the olden days we all learn n make some changes which makes sense 😉 try a different cooking method in your kitchen,it's good to be creative in your kitchen.

Obviously you are a good cook, and in addition i love the way you speak and your smile too
Good thing my mom is anambra woman, this soup is something I eat a lot at home and never get tired of it (especially with catfish).

@@senoradelvita you’re absolutely right
Ofe nsala is one of my favorite soups 😍
This is the first time I’m seeing garlic being used in nsala soup. Good thing she said it’s optional. Good job on this. The appearance looks great
Watching you cook makes me smile 😃

We have alot of delicious delicacy in Nigeria. I would love to taste this ofe-nsala soup soon. Nice video

Putting the swallow inside the soup is a No No. Looks delicious thou
Dosen't look decent

Zeelicious, you need to try out ofe nsala with some grounded blanced calabash nutmeg. You'll love the taste
Using cocoyam is even the best. I was using yam before friend introduced the cocoyam to me. Try it and you'll love it.
If you use cocoyam that's a different soup on it's own. The thickener for ofe nsala is yam only nothing else
Your presentation skills. Awesome. I love the details and the way you explain everything to your audience. Weldon. I hardly subscribe to food channels.but I couldn't help but do so now . Weldon
I like this ofe nsala with garlic.
I do believe you can use coco yam also as thickener. That was the go-to thickener in my Mum’s kitchen growing up
Yes but that won't be ofe nsala anymore.
It'll have a different taste.
I came for this comment because I got coco yam flour to use as thickener.
Thanks for the recipe. Looks yummmy....

If only I wasn't allergic to sea food would have loved to try this!
U can try this without sea food. Sea food is not compulsory o

I was about to state this. Please try these ingredients out, you’ll love it too
This is usually given to women who have just had a baby.....garlic is NOT involved!!!!!!
Garlic is optional...
Exactly you are right, no garlic
I'm a Yoruba lady but love this recipe but my question here are; What other thing can I use to soften the yam? Can I pound the yam with pestle and mortal? I'm so sorry to ask this question it's because I don't have blender o
Sure you can, just make sure you pound it properly to a smooth paste.
Add cury powder too
I love you Winnie
Please we don't use garlic in ofe nsala or any soup in South East.
adding garlic is a personal choice...I love to add both of them, ginger n garlic, they give the soup a special taste
@@ginikaanthony1536 definitely cooking is all about choice I totally agree with you
True
