It had great ports of games like Sonic Racing Transformed, MK9, Wipeout, the Ratchet and Clank trilogy, most of the PS1 classics, Jet Set Radio, and it even had it's own original Uncharted and LittleBigPlanet games. And most of that was in it's first year! Imagine what it could have done if it were more successful. Damn shame.
I doubt it would have ever succeed that well in a market full of mobile games. The 3ds sold considerably worse than the ds with a much better software lineup and a more compelling price. The vita would likely have failed regardless of the price of the memory cards. Also most of its game lineup was too niche to sell that much to a wide enough audience. Sony just did not try because they were caught up with their recovery from the ps3 to the ps4.

This music not only makes me think of 2012, but dated ideas of the future that every generations seems to have. Standing tall and looking forward like they're right on the precipice, the absolute apex of technology at the time. I feel the same way about online facilities and apps for the Wii and Wii U. The music only ever sounds melancholy because of the memories we attach to those songs. Remove that, and you're left with with forward facing optimism. It's so easy to look back and try to feel nostalgic for what is now a bygone era, but it's another thing to try and live in the moments that they present. Looking to the future beyond 2012.

Immediately takes me back to 2013-2014, transitioning from middle school to high school and playing a ton of Killzone and WipEout on the Vita. Still have pictures and videos of my first dog that passed around that time, and a bunch of panoramas of places I'll never visit again saved on my vita.

This was and will forever be my favorite game console. I still remember going through the closet a month after my birthday and seeing the box with the Vita and a copy of LBP Vita, and playing Freedom Wars or just letting this music play for hours. I got mine for Christmas in 2014 and lasted until summer 2016 after a high tide came in at the beach, it was already messed up before because of a joystick drift problem causing my Minecraft character to look down and turning left by itself. The Vita stopped production in 2019

I got mine for Christmas in 2014 and lasted until summer 2016 after a high tide came in at the beach, it was already messed up before because of a joystick drift problem causing my Minecraft character to look down and turning left by itself. The Vita stopped production in 2019
I wish I could go back in time and relive the ps vita moments with that one special friend we used to play all day and I remember getting a game and waking up at 6am everyday to continue playing it
