I picked the Polanski set up even though I had copies of the movies. I love THE NINTH GATE - even though I didn’t think that highly of it the first round. I recommend giving it another go, in our house it’s become a super-rewatchable movie. Had the same experience with Kubrick’s EYES WIDE SHUT.

All Roman had to do was show up for the court summons in California and the judge might have reduced his sentence but Roman got cold feet and boated back to his home country.
Great Imprint showcase. I'm most intrigued by "The Baron" collection which I have never seen, primarily because of the amazing Sue Lloyd, who was so memorable in THE IPCRESS FILE. It would also be interested in seeing Steve Forrest (born in Huntsville, Texas) as the lead in a UK show. Interested in what you think of it after you watch it. "What do you think of the SUSPIRIA remake?" Not much!
I do remember reading Bitter Moon was cut for its theatrical release and then cut even more for the original VHS and DVD releases. So do you know if Bitter Moon has been restored to its original full length vision?
You will enjoy the Baron it's fun to watch. You understand why these ITC shows now cult classics in the UK and especially in Australia, where I grew up watching all the ITC shows.
Love me some peak Argento, but the "Suspiria" remakes is leagues above the original. Gives it several new dimensions and even just as a pure horror movie it's much more shocking while keeping beautiful visuals.
"The Barron" is great. One of the best attempts to match "The Saint." The real appeal here is Steve Forrest. Classic TV fans know him as Hondo on "SWAT." While movie buffs may know he's Dana Andrews' little brother. The cool thing on "The Barron" is he does most of his own stunts. Allowing the directors to shoot the action and fight scenes in more interesting ways.
One other cool thing on "The Barron": Writer Terry Nation (creator of the daleks and "Blake's 7") submitted nearly identical scripts to both "The Saint" and "The Barron." Both were accepted and shot. And no one might have noticed. But due to the vagaries of production, they ended up airing on the same night. The episodes are "Lida" (The Saint) and "Portrait of Louisa" (The Barron). Personally, I prefer the latter. But filmmakers and buffs alike will enjoy seeing the different takes on nearly identical scripts.
Death Valley is not a bad little slasher I have the Scream factory blu ray I really like Polanski's Bitter Moon wouldn't mind picking that up if its given a solo release! Last imprint title I picked up was Let's Get Harry which was pretty bare bones but still a good release PQ and SQ wise and it's the first time on disc anywhere worldwide. Great video buddy 👍
Imprint has nice packaging and special editions but between the high prices and shipping charges I can't justify the purchase for those titles. If it was a must have for me I might have to consider.
I thought the Suspiria remake was unnecessary, but not bad. It probably had more story than the original (which is more about atmosphere and moments than plot) and used the actual dancing better.
You mentioned being able to separate the art from the artist. Honestly, it depends on the actor or actress, musician, etc. It also depends on the movie, TV show, album, etc. I may not like a particular person, but I'll still enjoy the movie, TV show, album, and vice versa. Just to give a couple of examples. I know that I've mentioned this already, but I don't Ezra Miller, and at the same time, I could care less about any movie that he's in because he's done so many controversial and questionable things over the years. However, on the other hand, I still bought Linkin Park's recent album From Zero because I'm a huge fan of the band's music, despite the new lead singer's religious beliefs, which are between her and God. It's not for me to judge. In one example, I can differentiate between the art and artist, but not necessarily with the other one. Otherwise, thanks, Heath! As always, I appreciate the hard work, dedication, and passion! Keep it up! God bless and stay safe!
I seperate the art from the person or else I would be missing out on a lot. 100 years plus of a lot. There are exceptions but they are very few and like you more personality than actions.
Hate to be "that person," but the NINTH GATE book (THE CLUB DUMAS) was so much better than the movie. If you like the idea of the movie, then try CLUB DUMAS and see if it resonates with you better.

That Polanski set is great! All the movies in it are great!
That looks cool!
Another outstanding video.

That's not accurate. It's actually closer to the opposite. That documentary covers it all very clearly.

In the Roman Polanski boxed set is the Ninth Gate Spanish language track included? Neat acquisitions and cool video Heath!👍
I heard Imprint is releasing Priscilla Queen of the Desert! I couldn’t be happier ❤😊
I do remember reading Bitter Moon was cut for its theatrical release and then cut even more for the original VHS and DVD releases. So do you know if Bitter Moon has been restored to its original full length vision?
Hope we get a review of the Suspiria remake on the website Heath! I enjoy reading them 🙂
I love THE NINTH GATE, DEATH AND THE MAIDEN is a solid adaptation of a very good play, and I recall disliking BITTER MOON. But I should revisit it.

Spine 11 of the TV line is yet to be announced!

Bitter Moon and Death and the Maiden are superb. The Ninth Gate, not so much.

Already ordered the Baron and will pick up the tv movie set also
According to Imprint: Television #11 is going to be another ITC show. They have not announced what the series is going to be.

Blair, which was filmed in my neighborhood. Or at least the first one was.

If you have seen The Saint then The Baron is a similar format. Forrest is not as good as Roger Moore but it is enjoyable. ITC was a great company.

2018 Suspiria has nowhere near the substance or style of Argento’s original.
2018 Suspiria is average in my opinion.
Me too. Too long, too many dance scenes.
