  • Lithic's only elongated gold bar of 2020, and one of Lithic's new chunky one ounce bars. I enjoy them both, but I'm just going to pour one 1oz elongated bar a year for the foreseeable future. I think it makes them a bit more special! Plus, then I can focus on our new chunky bars... which I love!

    I love that you'll remelt and repour a bar until you're satisfied with the way it looks. Shows dedication and attention to detail. Love your videos, sir.

    I love the channel and have been a subscriber for a while now. I, and a mass of other subscribers, am patiently waiting for the next new videos to be posted.
    I love the time you take with the work. No rushing to keep the material shortened or hurrying to get the project done. You work at your pace to make sure the work is up to your expectations. I love it!!!
    Keep your love for the work and stay safe.

      David! Thank you so much for that reaffirming message! I'm working on several videos right now... literally, right now :)
      I very much appreciate your kind support! I'm glad to hear your feedback as well. I've been purposefully trying to limit some of the content with the vids I've editing now... trying to shorten them up. Maybe that's not such a priority after all. Thanks again David!!!

      @@LithicMetals you are so very welcome.
      Don't worry so much about length. It's the content that counts. I, like many others, enjoy watching the processes. Personally, I don't care how long the vid is, I'll watch it anyway.

    Nice work. You do pay attention to the details which is pretty special in this day and age.
    Curious if you refine silver and gold for others and return the pure shot.

      Sorry for my delayed response, I missed your comment. Thanks!... and yes, I do indeed refine for folks and occasionally send back as shot. However, more often I send back one or more of my pieces. :)

    Great video. Saw you melt gold with two MAP gas torches and a crucible. Tried same with maybe .1 OZ or so. No luck. Not even close. What is the secret? Cheers.

      Hey John, thanks for checking out the vid! At around an oz that's where I can struggle trying to get up to the melting point. Surprisingly even the temperature of the room can hold you back. Often I grab the oxyacetylene torch for an oz or over, so I don't have to worry about it. However, two MAPP gas torches can really produce some heat. I think the simplest way to increase the proficiency is to use a bit of fireproof insulation under the melt dish. It def helps to localize the heat. You can use a few fire bricks to make a little oven type setup too, but I found it can limit your maneuverability.

    So, what’s the best way to put a request in to have a bar made for someone who may not be able to buy a full ounce of gold - do you do that? Should we messenger you on FB? After that goldbug round, I’m hooked-,definitely want something else!!

    Sir, you have any ideal how to make more shiny lustre 24 karat 999.9 gold

    • @LithicMetals
      @LithicMetals  3 года назад

      I don't. When I pour a bar I do everything I can not to touch the surface. The mirror finish scuffs so easily. I have several buffing wheels, and none of them can match the original shine. 24k jewelry or a well handled bar will inevitably have a matted finish, it can't be helped.
