Hello, it looks like you have a straw that goes into a wine cork to hold the spider up, what do you use to attach the spider to the straw? I have not had good luck with poster tack where there is only a small contact area.
Those are actually toothpicks that i super glued to the bottoms of the spiders. I knew that the point of glue was underneath and not normally visible. Afterward you can paint over it. easy peasey.
5 years after the fact this video gained you another subscriber! Just got these minis and was slightly intimidated to start painting them (I was way over complicating them) I enjoyed your tutorial! How did you secure them to the sticks?
How do you base these spiders ? I just painted these spiders, they are my first. But i feel like glueing the paws on such a small base won't work. I'm scared it will just fall off
I used hot glue to make webs and just hot glued the underside of the spider belly to the base and didn't worry about the legs...they mostly hung off the base or just lightly touched in some spots. Once you glue the underbelly it will hold. Gratz on painting these up..they were fun.
Looing Good. Love your relaxed style.
Loved the video, super helpful and very zen; like the Bob Ross of mini painting! Great job sir!
Many thanks sir! Thanks for watching. :)

I believe knees on animals of all kinds, spiders included, are called elbows

a little superglue i believe then when I was done just popped the stick off and it's on the underside of the spider so no harm no foul.
