You deserve the mention from S.W. Congratulations ❤️🇨🇦❤️ I love to listen to you so talk all day.
Thank you! 😊❤️
My daughter’s first 4 years in school were also at a tiny school in Germany. She’s now 33 yrs old and still treasures all the caring and personal attention from that wonderful beginning! I hope they don’t close your school. Wonderful inspirational episode. Thank you!
Thank you so much for mentioning my podcast ❤ you are so welcome to visit me in my greenhouse some day ❤ hugs from Sweden
Oh, I might just come one day with lots of wool and pastries. 😄❤️
I love your GeoGranny! Best looking of all the MKAL shawls going right now. Congrats on the notice by Stephen! As for your small local school for the kids… Yes! Keep fighting to keep it open. Those small schools that give the kids so much care are worth keeping open.
Yes, you got a new bird house. I love birds and always have lots of houses and feeders. Thank you for making my day wonderful in South Dakota.
Yes, indeed, color work on the bottom of Wervel by Maaike van Geijn will bring this WIP to another level; As a dress , split on one side, I can envision the effect;
And the Hobbit Wrapper is what all of us need in autumn/winter season, having a mug of coffee/tea and reading or watching The Hobbit;
I realised, through knitting we embody our memories, our everyday joy and thoughts, therefore knitting is wearable love!
I'm working on a project of Japanese lace pattern of 78 rows with small needles-2mm for a rectangular shawl and I enjoy every counted stitch, as they say, Love in every stitch!
Greetings from Sydney, Australia!!!
Yes, knitting is definitely a special craft on so many levels. ❤️
Your lace project sounds intriguing. I don't think I've ever knit lace on 2 mm needles. Definitely love in every stitch! ❤️
Good morning my Finnish friend - what a good week you have been having! It was good to see how much you have finished and no wonder you are eager to start your new 'cast ons'. When I was younger I used to think it was awful to start one thing before finishing another. Now, at 75, I don't care and I have different pieces of crochet all around me. This week I have been crocheting mandalas to use on the Christmas table and I will give some as gifts. Have a good week lovely lady - regards Jenny
Hi Jenny,
I stopped caring about my WIP amount some time ago. 😄 Just casting on all the fun stuff. ❤️ I do air them out once a year, we wouldn't want any moth in those bags. 😄
Yes, I’m so glad Stephen West mentioned you!!!! ❤❤You have done great to stay with the MKALs!!! They are all so beautiful!
Omg I am sooo excited for you to have been mentioned by Stephen West! You deserve it!!!💜💜💜
Your Hobbit Wrapper looks great with your dress. I,m loving the Geogradient also Thanks for who you are!!
Love how your shawls are coming together.
Hello Jana you are the most inspiring podcaster I watch. I love your pattern choices, your color choices, I am not surprised at Stephen West commenting. You are unassuming about your abilities . I have watched you for years you are you . I appreciate you are not trying to be an expert in fashion or knitting although you are without trying. I love the things you love. You cast on things I have on my dream list. I would order your yarn You know color. Bravo for being Jana. And thank you for taking time to share. I am always grateful.
In a world…like this day… you bring an oasis of beauty fluffy crafty loveliness. Thankyou.
FYI I took a trip with my husband to the north of Minnesota to visit our friends, We drove through the town of 🇫🇮 Finland.
Thank you so much! Your comment warmed my heart! ❤️
Your new cardi turned out so beautiful! I love the rich color you chose. So glad to see you smiling 😁
The pink hat suits you very nicely. The colour is you.
Love your new cardi. Very flattering. And your birthday cast on would make a fantastic dress. Thanks for
sharing your knitting thoughts with us.
Fan Girl you’re the best! Love your new wrap and your pink hat combo is so pretty . 🧶
You find joy in everything. And, we all need that
❤️
You deserve de SW mention for your creativity! I do love your modifications and color combo so yay. i vote for your sweater to be over a dress. I would wear like that too
So cool to be mentioned by Stephen, I noticed it too! He has once again done it! This CLUE 3 is so addictive, I love it!! He also said that CLUE 4 is his favourite, something he has not done before! awww! Cannot wait! Now I want to make that Hobbit Wrapper, oih! 😍
I'm very excited about clue 4! 😊
Love to listen to you. You make my day better every time I listen to one of your podcasts.
I just love your knits so inspirational. You make your knitting look easy. Wonderful your mention from Steven West. I am just back from Holiday. Heippa ❤😊
I’ve had that modern wrapper in my que forever!!
I love your granny square on your geo gradient much more interesting
I love the Hobbit Wrap. Write your own pattern? We are similar size and build. I love your style (even though I think I’m older than your mom) you are a highlight to my knitting and I’m so glad you popped up in my feed when you were just starting out. Still want to do a Nutiden project, but haven’t tried one yet
❤️
I think your Wervel would be a fabulous dress indeed! Stephen’s post mentioning your clue 1 of the MKL pulled me over the line to restart mine in exactly the way you did. I am however still stuck there, It takes for ever, garter in the round.
I wish you a successful fight for your little school!! Enjoy the school holiday ❤
Celebrity!❤. SW is inspired by you. I am inspired by you too.. I enjoy watching your podcasts while I knit. Take care❤
😄 Thank you! ❤️
Just found your channel, enjoyed it! ❤
I 💜 💜 💜 clue 3, the texture and everything else. 🎉 MY Geogradient is purple, so fun. 💜
Happy knitting, Hobbitgirl!
Yes, we are "fangirls." 😅
Greetings from Florida, USA. ❤❤❤❤
Welcome to our forest corner! ❤️
I could listen to you talking about knitting all day 😂 I wish I was there to talk knitting with you in person! I have the same problem, always wanting to talk something about my knitting with someone and my poor mum ends up being the one who has to listen, and I can tell she's really not that interested 🥴 I recently started writing a blog in a effort to get all my thoughts out so mum doesn't have to listen to me all the time. I'm not confident enough to do a video blog so I figured writing will have to do instead!
I'm very proud that you were mentioned by Stephen West as inspiring him with your granny square design! I love how your shawl is looking. They're not my colours really but they are blending in so perfectly together ❤🩷🤍
My mum isn't into knitting at all, so I'm saving her ears. 😄 Blog is a great solution to get our knitty chatter out. Would you like to share a link to yours? 😊
Please don't stop talking, I love you xxxx
Love you too! ❤️
I absolutely love your Fan girl excitement! I would totally be the same, and my husband doesn't understand when I talk anything about knitting lol. Your Werval is sooo pretty! and i love the idea or making a dress and adding color work to the bottom too! Thank you so so much for sharing your lovely knits and inspiration. 💕
Thank you so much, Sophie! ❤️ I think my husband has picked up a few knitting terms and is occasionally throwing them into the conversation and waiting for my reaction. 😂
I really want my Wervel to become a dress, hope I can figure it out. 😊
Wow Stephan to mention you is wonderful!❤️
My husband just turned off the radio and asked me who i was speaking to..... 🙂 i was agreeing with something you said and telling you so. I enjoy your podcast so much. 😊
Oh, you just made me laugh! 😄 I love it! Thank you for sharing! ❤️
Jana, I love your fan girl moment!! Good for you, I love your energy and excitement, it's what keeps me watching!!! And PS, I like your Granny Mod even better than Stephen's 2nd clue 1!!!
Hi Jana, I don't have anyone to talk to about my knitting either, I know exactly what you mean when you need to chat about it 😊. I've been following the Stephen West shawl clues for the first time, I'm not doing it, just watching 😂. I enjoyed your podcast, thank you. You make me smile 😊 have a good week x
Thank you! You too! ❤️
I find that Canadian patterns are the most expensive - and then the American ones. European pattern designers like Martina Behm and Veera (for instance) are always excellent value for money. 😊
always glad to help by listening!!
Love your Geogradient! Your colours work so well with the different shapes & structures. Thank you for knitting my Wervel pattern! Very excited and curious how you will finish it! And my name pronunciation was just right, wow, it’s hard even for Dutch people! ❤ Maaike
Thank you so much, Maaike! Wervel is on a little break at the moment. I managed to order more of the main colour yarn and I'm planning to turn it into a dress. Is that crazy? I love the pattern so much, but I mostly wear dresses. What do you think?
Oh, I'm so glad I got your name right. I'm always stressed about mispronouncing people's names.
Thank you for watching my channel! ❤
I think it’s a fabulous idea and can’t wait to see it! The MC yarn is also lovely drapey for a dress. I discovered your RUclips channel through a friend and I love it very much. It’s very inspiring to see your knitting wonders and hear you talk about it. Have a lovely day!
I love love love your geogrannyant! 💜🥰❤️
You loook great in pink virtual wooly hugs from Istanbul❤
You're so cute with your well-deserved SW moment. You're very talented, Jana. You inspire so many. Congrats!

Lovely fall here,,,
First frost last night,,,

Elaine 💖🍄🍁🏡
You should try Kura Socks with some thicker yarn. Mine turned out great and I don't usually like the toe-up.
I love the pink neon hat.❤ You’re Stephen West shawl is looking great, how exciting getting a mention from him. 👍😊🧶
Jana, it's so good to see you. I love your Finished objects Hobbit wrap lol. 😅 stephen west is awesome and so are you. I'm so happy he mentioned you!! ❤ Beautiful Nutiden. Have a blessed week with the children. 🤗
Oh, thank you so much! 🥰
Your MKal result is faboulos❤! I am Hearing ‚An Italian Knitter‘ - very Good recommendations!
Hi Jana, omg your birthday project is beautiful, and will look amazing if you will turn this into dress ❤
Yes a dress!
Thanks Jana. 😀
I love how you mention other crafting U tubers in your episode. Very generous of you. Beautiful new cardigan too!
I always love to watch your episodes!
Modern Wrapper is so beautiful. I can see how warm and squishy it is.
The colour of the the boucle hat is so pretty on you and it matches your watch. lol
"Fan girl" still works regardless of age. 🙂
The night school idea is wonderful. I love it! 😍
Welcome back, smiling and chatty Jana. Your vibe this week is perfect. I appreciate that you are just natural in your podcasts and I accept and enjoy you as you are each week. ❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
I love to watch Ciasbod and Stitched in Sweden too! Haven’t seen Sofias Stories
Thank you! ❤️
A new term for the knitting dictionary: hiberknitting! 😁 I’ve been in a “cast on” mood lately as well. I’m about half finished with a granny square afghan, inspired by you, want to cast on socks and am even more inspired after your segment on Kura socks, have a couple of other afghans on my mind and am trying to keep from adding to the ever growing list.
Your fan girl moment made me smile!! So fun!
Jana, you brought so many big smiles to my face today while I watched your podcast. I especially enjoyed your segment on the Steven West MKAL and your fan girl moment. Thank you for bringing joy to the world.
Thank you for being here with me! ❤️
The Haiku Cardi is fun to make and comes in 5 sizes. I also had a fan girl moment on your behalf when I saw that photo go Jana! 🧡
Thanks for the recommendation. I really like that pattern!
@@denisedejose718 no worries 😉 it’s one that I wear all the time as it’s a really good fit
Oh, I completely forgot about that one. Thank you for reminding me! It's been on my list for about 5 years. 😄
You look gorgeous in sweater dresses Jana, so i agree it would be a good option.... break out some more colourwork to extend your yarn meterage. I love how your MKAL shawl is coming along and your choice of colours is beautiful!
Hi Jana, i also saw Stephen mention your granny square for the mkal and I felt so proud!. 🤪 because you are my favourite podcaster! Wauw 👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼😃
I know you think the colours you are wearing are dark, but they look so good on you. It makes your face shine and the colour of your lovely eyes pop! ❤️
Thank you! I've worn so many dark clothes in my younger days that I'm purposely trying to avoid them now. 😄
Black jeans or black pants would look very nice.
I like your Hobbit wrap it does look cozy. It's so good to spend time with your and your gorgeous knits
❤️
Your shawl is AAAMMMAAAAZZZZZIIINNNNGGG!!!
Thank you for sharing your time with us! You're so nice! And today you made me laugh a lot- which is no little thing- with your being a "fan girl". I love your Hobbit Wrapper, it looks so cozy and warm I really would love to knit one for myself next winter. Love from Argentina
I'm so happy to hear that! ❤️
I have that Modern Wrapper pattern but haven’t read it yet. (I can’t remember what prompted me to buy it) I agree, it was expensive and here was I thinking there must be something special about it! 😳 Anyway, it does look super cosy, so might still give it a go. I’m going to check out the Kura socks because that heel turn looks so interesting. I’m not sure if you already know about Danish Musings podcast. I believe she is a Dane living in Sweden. She has knitted some gorgeous sweaters and is also very interesting to listen to. Your SW shawl is developing nicely. Lovely colours. Good for you getting a mention from Stephen! He left a comment on my Shawlography on Instagram that year. I was so shocked, and ridiculously pleased. I didn’t knit the mystery last year, or this year either, but I decided to knit Vertices Unite instead because I have wanted it for ages and I’m nearly finished, so I’ve still been knitting along, just not the current design. It will be interesting to see the 4th clue. 🥰
I think the special thing about the Modern Wrapper is that it does have a great fit. I've been enjoying mine a lot.
Oh, Vertices Unite is my absolute favourite and most worn shawl. 😊 I hope you'll enjoy it as well. ❤️
So glad to visit today. I hope you enjoy your time with kids. Cast on what you want, and as many as you want.
❤️
Thank you so much for inspiring me to start the MKAL again and learn to crochet a Granny Square. I am Loving it! You have been such an inspiration, Jana!
Jana, the "sweater" you are wearing looks so, so cozy. Love it.
Suzanne
Thank you! ❤️
Fan girl can be any age. You are my favorite RUclipser, I’m so excited when you have a new video so you could say I’m your fan girl.
😄❤️
Yours Geo... will be amazing, Pink and Poppy, I ❤️ it. I dont know if I've commented on this before: You my nr 1 podcaster and look forward to seeing you every weekend. All the best, take care ❤️ Grettings from PL
Thank you so much! 😊❤️
Hi Jana, I just discovered your channel through Ivonne (Knittinginde) and am loving what I’ve watched. I’ve watched all the October videos and now will spend a bit of time watching some of your earliest ones. Your knitting, your chattiness, and the sharing of thoughts is just delightful. Thank you for putting out these episodes. I love what you have done with the SW MKAL - really stunning. I know I’ll truly enjoy watching your videos from my home in California. Until the next time. Salam wa sa’aadah
We're having a beautiful Fall day - grey sky, trees are flame and orange and yellow. Came in from a walk, turned on your podcast and grabbed my knitting. What a good time. Thanks for the visit.
Sounds wonderful! 🥰
You have no jeans and want to buy one, my first thought was - what about a jeans -skirt, but a dress, yessss. Like you I know these texture from the MKAL, my grandmothers towel had those too. And being a fangirl could be at any age, and although I ´m found of Mr. Stephen Wests I love your colors. And I want to thank you to encourage me „ if you ´re not in the mood to knit at this piece, take another one“. ❤
I actually do own a jeans skirt. 🤔 I think it's packed somewhere safely with my summer clothes. 😄
The Republic of Me, Ina Knits, Soulful Spinning ( podcast recommendations)
I hope you do a livestream soon! I have fallen out of knitting for almost a year and will have to go through the backlog of your videos that I missed during that time. Missed hanging out with your videos almost as much as I missed knitting lol
I'm glad you're back! ❤️ What's your first knitting project after a break? 😊
Quite a few of my knitting friends have knitted the Modern Wrapper. We love Churchmouse and Teas, especially when they had their brick and mortar shop. I keep meaning to tell you how much of love the music that introduces your podcast. The autumn accents were lovely also. I have made 12 small knitted pumpkins which you inspired me to do. Maybe I will try to send a photo of them. ❤️🧶❤️
Thank you so much! I would love to see your pumpkins! 🧡
Do you have an email address I could send the photos to?
I’ve made a Ranunculus lately and had so much yarn left (4x50g balls of drops baby Merino) and was thinking about making a dress out of it to use up the yarn. I was worried not to have enough to make it at least do the knee. It is now knee length and I still have two balls left. Go for it ❤
I'm currently knitting a cardigan you might also enjoy. It's called Mix It Up Stash Sweater, by Shaina Bilow, and I am having so much fun mixing all my scraps and doing fun textures. The bad thing is it's knitted in pieces, but it really works with the blocks of color and texture, if you're into a random scrappy look! It's one of the most fun things I've knitted in a long time. 😊
I looked it up and I love it! I'll put it on my scrappy project list.
Thank you! ❤️
Wishing you a Cozy and Knitful Fall!😊
Thank you! And to you too! 🧶❤️
Your jumper would look lovely as a dress with colour work around hem and sleeves maybe be enough yarn I can imagine you looking lovely in it
I’m loving the texture of the MKAL too!
I know the podcasts that you mentioned, we have the same taste apparently. 😊
You deserve to have Stephen being inspired bybypur granny square ❤
We are having a terrific Autumn here in Canada, a couple of my favorite Canadian podcasts are Tobyknits, SoxyNana Alice, My Pink Bathtub Knits, The Knitty Stew, just to name a few.! ❤ cheers xx
❤️
Yayyy…new episode. ❤❤❤❤
Love how your Geogradient is coming along! I've only completed 2 repeats of Section 11 since Thursday morning (I'm not a slow knitter) and I've decided to do the remaining 8 repeats as stripes and do the same for Section 12. I've come to the conclusion that working Clue 3 in a grey gradient is brutal 😂 On a happier note, I'm going to make another Twists and Turns after the MKAL - but I have to finish my Dustland Shawl first!
To be honest, I'm not enjoying the knitting process of Clue 3. I'm working it in small chunks and powering through. But I do love the look! Your idea with the stripes is excellent!
I've decided that I want to cast on one of the old mystery shawls, but I can't decide which one - Speckle and Pop, Marled Magic, the Doodler or Exploration Station? What do you think? 😊
Good Morning! If I had to choose it would be The Doodler. I would do this in a sport weight so that I could snuggle into it, it's a happy and comforting looking pattern - I love the rays in it, may be that's why? Also, the 3 colours is a bonus! I love Jennesse13 Wonder Woman colours on the Ravelry projects page, so fun! 🥰
Morning from Australia! I’ve been watching you for years ,every video 🥰 and I have my own channel now 🥰 Knitty Mel. I’m doing the MKAL along with you! 🤗 I LOVE your hobbit wrap 😆 happy knitting!
I'll go and check you out! ❤️
@@FinnishKnittingStories thanks so much 🤗
I don’t do mystery knits anymore. Was going to see what the finished Geogradient looks like and then maybe buy the pattern. Then I saw how the shawl looked like after clue 3 and here I am, almost finished with clue 1. And thinking of making another one with the granny square modification. Oops 🤷🏻♀️😁
😄❤️
"Fangirling" is a state of mind. It shows not only a true appreciation but also a lovely display of vulnerability. It is ageless and genderless and those who practiced it are truly fortunate.
❤️
I made the Modern Wrapper in mohair from Rowan for my sister. She loves it but it was so pricey with Rowan prices. I love your version! I want to make one like that!
Mine came out quite pricey as well, but there is plenty of more affordable unspun that will work just great. I'm thinking one in Plötulopi would be nice and extremely warm. 😊
Katsoin huonon keskittymiskykyni takia tätä 1,5-kertaisella nopeudella, jolloin tuo sinun fanityttöilyhetkeksi näytti niin hauskalta 😂❤ on kiva huomata, että neuloja, jota fanittaa, fanittaa myös toisia neulojia 😊
😄❤️
Hello from Ontario Canada ❤,
Hello and welcome! ❤️
Big Old Coat by Joji Locatelli , Naturligvis by Lone Kjeldsen , Yarmalada by Krissi Abbott
Thank you! 😊
Thanks again Jana for a lovely episode ❤ It’s always so nice to see all your beautiful knits/crochet!
Is it ok to recommend my own RUclips channel?🤭
Have a cozy week with the family!
Hugs! Lotte
Absolutely! ❤️❤️❤️
Hi I am from Japan and your youtube update is one of the exciting things I look forward every week! It is my first time to leave you a comment :) I wonder where did you get the necklace you wear with your hobbit wrapper? It is gorgeous and beautiful xx
Thank you for being here with me! I got the necklace at Jyväskylä Knit Fest several years ago. It's by Finnish jewelry artist - Pinjo Design. I've mentioned her several times before, I also have some earrings and rings made by her. I'm pretty sure she still makes the same design. 😊
Hi! Make a dress of the sweater you are working on and after that knit another marled legging and use your leftovers. I really like to hear about Dutch designs. 🇳🇱 love from the Netherlands!
Great idea!
Andrea Mowry’s Trinigan is colourwork, but a similar shape to the Modern Wrapper, only in 9 sizes.
Oh how fun to get mentioned by SW! I squealed with you.
Also, your MKAL looks amazing!
Oh, that's a good one! I have it on top of my list, I even bought some of the yarn for it several weeks ago. I think I showed in a few episodes back. I just need to spin up the contrast colour and I'm good to go. It may take a while, but will be do worth it. 😊
Kiitos aivan ihanasta jaksosta taas 😍Riittääkö tohon Bukleepipoon yksi vyyhti bukleeta ja mohairia? Paljonko käytit sun pipoon? Kiitos jos ehdit vastata. 💜
50 g boucle + 20 g silkki-mohair. 😊
What is the pattern for the sample hat you showed in your shop? It’s gorgeous!❤
It's Gro Hat by Fiber Tales, slightly modified. 😊
@@FinnishKnittingStories thank you!
Did you find a substitute for the Modern Wrapper pattern?
Not yet. Lots of options, but still looking.
I knew you would love your Stephen West even if it was only for the colours. Of course you can be a fan girl. Think I am past it😅😅. Fan Gran sounds totally ridiculous. Don't think I have been a fan since the 1960's. Unless you count being madly in love with Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, German and Belgian Shepherds. My Granddaughter is a Police dog handler and has a retired black Belgian called Zeus. He is gorgeous. I love him.
Where schools are concerned small is beautiful 🎉. . Cannot be bettered. I have had an awful bug which affected my Asthma. (Not covid).
Finally saw Orthopaedic surgeon. Need two new hip joints and one new knee. First hip in probably January depending on waiting list. 😅😅 Not holding my breath. Tip from me to younger people...... do what you can when you can so you don't need to take into consideration if you can.
Booked two short holidays one mid November and one over the New Year weekend. Not giving in 😂😂😂
With love to everyone. Take care. ❤❤ Lynne xxx
Oh, Lynne, fan gran is my new favourite thing! 😄❤️❤️❤️
Hope you get your new bits installed soon! ❤️
As always, thank you for sharing your wisdom and fun stories!
Love you! ❤️
What is the name of the white hat pattern you showed in finished objects? I think you knit it in Isager yarn. Thank you
It's modified version of Gro Hat by Fiber Tales.
