I was working at an Open MRI office in Myrtle Beach. I saw an elderly lady needing some help filling out her paperwork for her MRI so I decided to help her. It came to the part where I had to ask her if she was ever a welder. She said yes, she made bombs for Hitler. She was just a teenager when she was taken to Auschwitz and not long after she arrived their, she was rescued by American troops. She showed me the tattoo number on her arm! I have one of those, too. The poor woman was living in a Polish ghetto under miserable conditions when she was ordered to report for transportation. She was in her 50's and the caretaker for elderly relatives and in declining health herself. She was sent to the gas chambers almost immediately upon arrival.
As the numbers in the prison camps increased, the elderly and children were marched directly into open fire pits smh. This must have been a clawing, heart wrenching, raw experience. Horrific. This is exactly what makes the attacks in Gaza so horrific to me. I know many real Jews are also horrified because they remember what was done to them. I read of one lady who relocated to Israel after this war. She was brought to a seaside house and told it was hers. When she entered she saw the dinner plates of the Palestinians who has just been thrown out of their house still on the table. She recoiled in horror. All she could see was when the Nazis came and did this to her family. She went back to living in a tent and refused to take another person's house by force.

All the more so when Hamas embeds itself in civilian infrastructure and actively seeks to get as many of its own civilians killed so people like you will say that Israel shouldn’t defend itself in an existential war or get its hostages back. A few weeks ago, my 83 year old mother just casually told me my grandmother's stepmother had been at Auschwitz. Her husband was shot in the back and one child also died. Her other son was older and was a photographer and the Nazis made him take a lot of photos there. They were separated. After the war she was reunited with her son in London. There's no adjective to describe the heartbreaking events, that these people endured. Each have their own story to tell, and they are all unfathomable.
Just like right now in Gaza. There are no words.
@@messengeroftruth17 It breaks my heart seeing those hungry toddlers looking for food, or parents burying their children. We say, "Remember", so history doesn't repeat itself. Unfortunately, we have no control over the agendas our world leaders have up their sleeves.

There have been a couple of movies lately about the Natzi officer families who lived comfortable lives right next door to the concentration camps that were killing people night and day. The ability of these people to compartmentalize the horrific from the mundane is mind blowing.
So sad, so needed to see. Thank you.
Amen.
Heartbreaking !! Sad time for mankind to see and know the horrible acts against humanity. Never forget
My neighbor and bf was looking through her Dad's pictures. He had passed away.
Pictures of the bodies of the dead at the death camps were there. He wanted to document the atrocity.
So so very sad. How heart breaking to see last pictures of family members just before they die. The pain goes on forever
I think about Lili’s two brothers every time I see their photo and how their innocent faces show fear.
Such a sad time in history. Genocides of any group or tribe is appalling. Just hope this never happens again.
Genocide is happening and NOBODY deserves to be treated with such inhumanity.
Are you asleep???? It is happening again.

@ShepardfortheLord how will u stand in front of the One that created all those innocent 40000 that's have been mercilessly mascred? What do u think He will do?
This is what genocide looks like , true genocide. No one sending in food for these innocent victims. People need to stop throwing that word around right now there is no comparison 🙏🏻
People did sneak people from camps into their homes and give them food.
Plenty of food etc sent, as always Hamas uses it all for themselves! Also all the billions for the civilians aid is used to pocket Hamas and build palaces for their families in Quatar and in other countries!
Oh shut it. There are people starving in gaza right now.
Never forget the additional 10 million Slavic women, children, and prisoners executed + enslaved throughout the entirety of the war. The holocaust never has been limited to one race of people.
There were African people victims of the Holocaust as well, they were forgotten.
My grandmother was not Jewish but Russian orthodox, from Czech. She didn't go to school, she hid out of fear, she came to the US, 1st time she heard fireworks she thought the war came to the US
God Bless her and her family 🙏
For one single person, we say RIP, but here (unfortunately) we are referring for approx 6 MILLION, so perhaps it should be something as an absolute holistic R.I.P.
Its too bad that "never again" doesn't mean never again for everyone

Such sweet and handsome faces. I'm sorry for Lili's loss and for the loss of so many during that time. Imagine what might have been accomplished by humanity if such a large portion of creative, intelligent, funny, and caring humans had been needlessly killed. It is definitely something we should strive to remember and never repeat.

How was this POSSIBLE???
I think if we look at the celebrations and marches that have been going on since Oct. 7 and the inversion, we can see pretty easily. US Jewish institutions have more and more layers of formal security. Europe is worse and it’s a risk to wear symbols that identify one as Jewish.

Now Gaza
Yes, horrible what Hamas has done and engineered. The inversion, global celebrations of Hamas instead of global condemnations, is even sicker.
@@saraleigh5336 Does that justify the killing of children and women? Innocent civilians including hospital workers, doctors, nurses, EMT workers?
@@sct4040 it justifies a war, during which, sadly, people get killed. See John Spencer’s (West Point, urban combat specialist) on the way that Israel goes above and beyond to avoid civilian casualties, at great cost to itself. Newsweek March 25. Also Jan. 31.
All the more so when Hamas embeds itself in civilian infrastructure and actively seeks to get as many of its own civilians killed so people like you will say that Israel shouldn’t defend itself in an existential war or get its hostages back. Fastest way to end the war remains the same: return hostages and Hamas surrender. Had there been united global pressure for this to happen since day one the war could be over. Instead, people like you have been encouraging Hamas.
@@sct4040 you also may want to take another look at those “hospital workers.” Some are actually Hamas in scrubs. And when hospitals are used as military bases they cease to be hospitals.

This horrible and unhuman episode of mankind should always be remembered!
I went to Auschwitz on a trip to Poland. It still hurts my heart thinking of being in rooms full of piles of people's hair or suitcases and seeing all those intake photos of the prisoners on the walls. Some were even smiling.
If you go there, the tragedy really hits home. It is bringing tears to my eyes just typing this.
People can be monsters. May this NEVER happen again.
Never forget them 🙏. They want to do this again to all of us.
No one should go through with this inhumanity..and it is still happening somewhere else..
How anyone can deny this happened, is beyond me. I pray for those who are still living who themselves or family will find peace somehow.
She married my great grandfather and they lived in Massachusetts.
I never knew my grandmother's stepbrother took photos at Auschwitz or that her stepmother was there. It was just never talked about. My mom doesn't remember her step uncle's last name or her grandma's prior name. But she remembers the photos he still had.
I was shocked I never heard the story.
I have the picture in my history book- i always imagined how she looked.. calm .. she didn't look scared.. or Angry.. or tensed in that picture.. i feel grateful to be able to learn about her now
I’ve seen The photo of the little boys so many times and wondered who they belonged too. I’m glad to know they had someone who made it out. It’s a very weird feeling seeing this video and this famous photo and hearing their families story.
God bless you, Lili! Hugs from Germany (there are things that do change for the better)
