Love your work, Desy! I think you'll eventually come back to the Tenba :) I used this one before and just found that due to the middle section, shape, and dual compartment structure, I was never really able to utilise it to haul as much gear as my Axis 24L. It's been purpose built to really be used in tight spaces with a small footprint so I just found it got in the way of actual daily use.

Yeah the Tenba can definitely carry more! love the expandability options! But ur right, i will come back to the tenba at some point this year haha

For versatility: Peak design 30 or 45l travel backpack, along with its camera or clothing cubes.
Only and exclusively for photography: Shimoda Explore V2, 30l is the best backpack I have ever had for work. Besides, it is the most comfortable backpack I have ever owned and tried.

i agree the shimoda is the most comfortable! I have the 25L and it's not big enough to carry my gear. I'll have to try the 30L one day!

I have both the Peak Design Travel & Shimoda Explore backpacks.
PD is sleek/versatile but horrid with comfort. Esp with heavy load which most camera gears are. It's harness system just sucks. Best suited for short urban travel.
Shimoda is super super adjustable/comfortable. Prob most comfy without going high end hiking packs (Osprey Atmos AG was bliss). But... they are very strap-y like traditional hiking packs. Gets a bit in the way for air travel. For longer travel this is the best choice.
Wish PD/Shimoda can merge together for the ideal backpack. Sometimes get the urge to snip off the PD straps and sew on the Shimoda.

@@DesmondCheng I was really interested in the Urban Explore but turned off by no more adjustable torso or hip belt. That was the magic to making it comfy. Lots of different straps to fit varying body shapes. As a EDC I see why they removed it but still a bummer.

Like you, still searching :D. Have tried several (Protactic 450, PGYTECH OneMo v1, Tenba Axis 2, etc.). I’m thinking the OneMo v2 35-45L may be the closest yet but the side camera access is on the wrong side for me personally (haven’t purchased it)… but it’s big!
At the moment I’ve settled on a $50 Tactical handgun bag from Academy Sports with a Vanguard insert in the bottom and a $20 bag insert for the top load area. It has 2 side pockets (Batteries/SD Cards) and is covered in Molle so I have a Water Bottle holder affixed to one side, Tripod to the other (2nd Water Bottle Molle), and an EDC organizer for the Molle on the back which allows for cables, and other small items. Only thing lacking is an area for my laptop.
The perfect bag for me would be if the OneMo2 married the Tenba Access and had a love-child :D. Back and front Access so you can choose, Top and Side Access, with Molle points. I still like carrying 3 ring binder for notes etc. which would fit perfect in the expanded gimbal area of the OneMo v2.
I’m still trying to find my “everything” bag that can still handle 90% of my day to day business needs as well as my photographic hobby… 80% photo, 20% personal. A solid organization area for EDC stuff (knife, flashlight, pens, keys, etc.) as well as storage for camera batteries, SD cards, filters. I wish I had the funds to just make my own, I know exactly how I’d design it :D.
Great to have such amazing choices today… certainly 1st world problems!
