The human behavior aspect is still interesting! I also don’t watch this kind of thing(aside from a couple seasons of Love is Blind - mostly bc of the drama 😅) but Scandy does make it interesting
Trauma bonded doesn’t mean bonding over a trauma, like the contestants of a show would with each other. It’s the toxic bond between a narcissist and their victim that bond them “through” the trauma
I loved the show unReal. It’s so good and has really been one of the only shows (even though it isn’t very relatable in a larger scale) that really set that familiar feeling of depression, panic, anxiety, rage, confusion and that feeling you get when you’ve lost yourself etc. I think it was really a great visual to understand those feelings and the inner battle we all have and how some people really suffer from it without anyone really seeing it
This is such a great video breaking down narcissistic traits and how they look. Especially in reality tv shows. Great explanation and showing what they look like!
I genuinely loved "Love is Blind" until I found out about what goes on behind the scenes - the contestants are plied with alcohol and little food to keep them drunk (esp in earlier seasons), producers nudge them into situations and conversations to start up drama, the contestants are CLEARLY forced to stay on because you can see couples who have no chemistry still professing to love each other up to their vows, and FINALLY, the fact that the contestants have spoken about how the producers EDIT the content, even the pod conversations!!
Being a producer is a menial job. You are basically a servant of the audience. If you do not provide interesting enough content you will have no food on your table. This is the reason they are so desperate to use psychological tools to make their shows more interesting. In today's world, fast entertainment like youtube, tiktok and shorts are more interesting. Long form content such as reality shows get increasingly boring and lose audience. Instead of them investing money in a soon to be extinct genre and pushing psychological mind games on the contestants, producers should take an online course on how to invest money 101.
I have to thank you for making a video about how these shows work. Ive always wondered how they they truly work even though I don't watch them. I've been looking for something like this for some time.
Not only was I with a person who was diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder, I had a child with him. It is almost scary how our relationship followed THIS script to the letter. We haven't been together in YEARS, and I STILL haven't dated anyone since because of the PTSD I developed. I feel like I can no longer trust my own judgement.
these shows/apps have always been so creepy to me. greed n love don’t mix. sidenote i love your hair/makeup!!! reminds me so much of how i used to look year 3 of uni now i feel nostalgic ☺️
Yes!! Was so hooked watching the show and mind blown at how the producers hid stuff and participated in the fuckary with no accountability. Gaslighting victims and ppl who questioned what they were doing.
The higher success of BIP vs the original format of “the bachelor” is also due to multiple couples coming out of one season as opposed to just one couple for one season (if it works out). So it’s really silly to compare success rates anyway.
Don’t knock my trash tv 😂. I like to know, no matter what I’ve done in my life, no matter how stupid I think I’ve been, I can rest easy knowing I was never dumb enough to go on one of these shows.
Scandy is one of the only channels that I don’t hesitate to watch as soon as I see a new video, it’s always so interesting and I love the effort of this channel to show all the facts 🫶
At the end of the day, everyone already knows that the producers are super manipulative. Being on these shows is not worth it, a person can expose themselves and their family to public hate. Most people only do it because they are trying to make it as an influencer. Real valuable partners would never go on a show like that because they actually respect themselves too much to endure that type of poor treatment. That is why success rate is pretty bad. The low quality environment will attract people who are okay with being manipulated for the fame or experience of it all.
(Hmmmm....) "When The 'TRUTH About REALITY TV' Is That It 'ISN'T REALLY REALITY At ALL', Folks!!!!!!!!" *Yet, if "SCANDY'S Covering The Story", I'm Here For It*.... 💯👍🏽😎✌🏽
I’ll be honest I’m not even interested in this topic but I’m watching this because your content is so well made 😅
Same!
are you in my mind? I was thinking the exact same thing when It popped up on my page. She kills it
The human behavior aspect is still interesting! I also don’t watch this kind of thing(aside from a couple seasons of Love is Blind - mostly bc of the drama 😅) but Scandy does make it interesting
You took the comment right outta my mouth- same same ;)
I second this!!!! Couldn't care any less than I already do about dating shows, but your videos are so excellently made that I need to watch them!!!!

Spoken like a true survivor. 💪🏻
@@BITCOINisJOKE right back at ya!
Thank you! So annoying hearing people get so many of these terms wrong. I.e-gaslighting, narcissist, etc. very minimizing to abuse survivors!

13:58 when she said “epitOME” I came straight to the comments 😂
Ok I came here for this. So I'm not the only one?

What about Married at first sight? Thats a crazy show

I don't watch or like any of the shows mentioned. I am watching because I love how informative you are and how you break down the facts!!🖤✨️

I’m so impressed with your videos!
Unreal had me in a chokehold when it came out 😭 and I was today years old finding out who the producers were behind the show 😑
It was truly ahead of its time..
Yes!! Was so hooked watching the show and mind blown at how the producers hid stuff and participated in the fuckary with no accountability. Gaslighting victims and ppl who questioned what they were doing.
Your content is so freaking good, you're going to be huuuuuuuuge
I really wish I could read all the sources for this specific episode. So helpful. Is there a shared google doc or something I missed?
My Queen is back!!!!
14:00 not ‘epitome’ 🤦🏻♂️

Haven't been this excited about an upload in a while

I don’t watch these shows because I think they’re dangerous but I’ll watch your video on them!

yeah though some of her videos have misinformation but if you do your own research it wont be a big problem
UnReal was WAY before it's time... I LOVED that show
I just watched it a couple months ago thinking it was new. It was so good!
@mentalbrookedown. Yeah it has been out for years... My best friend and I loved it when it first came out... I think it was on Lifetime originally..
My favorite version of these shows is “Jury Duty” sooo good and fun. Think they even tried to get him to be rude but he was super nice.
W video, liking it already
Appearance helps but isn't the main focus, that's where these shows go wrong, everything is centered on looks, attractive people are untrustworthy
Forgot about Sean and Catherine from the bachelor. One of the best
i miss how chaotic these dating shows were in the early 00's 😅
I remember that Harry show, it was crazy 😅
The way the girl in that one TikTok about Chelsea pronounced the word "epitome" though 😬
This is going to be a good one.
That Travis Kelce's footage is CURSED!!!
🤣
You deserve all the likes Scandy, you are awesome!
My ex did this all to me. I’m so happy to be free.
Why did that person say epitome like that
Lmao. The “Epee-tohm”. Reminds me of how some people say “hyper-bowl”.
@@Quizack not hyperbowl 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Did that girl really pronounce epitome as “epi-tohm”?
15:25 that's not Katie Thurston ❓️❓️❓️
I knew these were fake. Just didnt know to what depth they were.
Does this also apply to the 90 Day Fiance franchise?
“Epitome” wow🤦🏾
I’m 23 min in and STILL thinking about that 😂
@mentalbrookedown. I'm 18 min in just to make sure I wasn't the only one. I was wondering "is this a different word or said wrong
14:01 LOL on that terribly incorrect pronunciation of ‘epitome’.
How do you do your hair like that? Looks good
"The epi-tome 😂"
I m so sick of love is blind: uk, Arab world, Brazil, Argentina.. BORING!
listen i would have been pissed if i was one of the girls, BUT i wanna marry harry was kinda hilarious for that
Please tell me women aren’t just finding this out now? I cannot handle it.
Wooow it all makes sense now
Is it just me or was epitome pronounced wrong? Is epitom a different word?
And this is why I don't watch reality tv.
I'm shocked!
13:58 is it just ME or did she mispronounce epitome
To be honest, I can't stand dating shows, I hate how superficial it all seems
I can’t believe Molly and Tommy broke up from love island UK 😭😭
I honestly think most go on these shows for 15 mins of fame and if there is money prize!
Yes final firsttttt
lol no

It’s pronounced as: “epi-tomee”… Not “epi-toum”
We had a good laugh with that one
"Epi TOME"
9:02 “The *VICTIM”* 😂 That’s cute.
of couse they killed it
I never watched that stupid show. I’ll watch your video though 😂
I'm stuck on that one TikToker pronouncing epitome phonetically.
No, boo boo.
No.
Fundió privado pensó peor
ABBIE!!!
Idk... take care of yourself
They are fake noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
