I certainly hope so , from the bottom of my movie going heart! Hollywood owes Christopher Nolan so much , it is time they start giving a part of what he deserves.
Picture, director, lead actor, supporting actor, adapted screenplay (read the book!), score, cinematography, sound, editing. This Nolan masterwork must sweep. No other film is comparable.
Surprised this video hasn't gotten more views as its really well put together also if Cillian Murphy doesn't win best actor I will be incredibly upset.
I had been anticipating the release of this film since I first saw the trailer. When I could get an opening night ticket, I decided to buy one for imax. I'd never seen a movie in an imax theater before due to the price but with this movie I felt that it was justified. When I first saw this movie I fell in love with it. I was fully immersed in the story and completely lost track of time. For a movie with practically just dialogue, I tensed up in some moments as if I was watching a thriller. Just incredible effects, acting, and a riveting complimentary score. I saw it two more times in the theaters after that. If this doesn't earn best picture, I don't know what will. I don't believe in perfection, but this is honestly one of the most complete movies of the past decade. The final scene left me stunned and in silence trying to comprehend what I had just seen. The relevance to today's world is utterly terrifying. First time watching one of your videos, it was really great. Looking forward to the next 😊.
It's a given: Cillian Murphy for Best Actor; Robert Downey Jr. for Best Supporting Actor; Best motion Picture; Christopher Nolan for Best Director; Best Cinematography; and Best Sound.
Best motion picture and best director could definitely go to Killers and Scorsese. Best actor is easily Cillian and best actress should be Lily Gladstone. As for best supporting actor, it could go both ways between Robert Downey Jr and Robert De Niro, but RDJ would take the edge for me.
Glad to see Nolan moving away from Hans Zimmer. Not to say his score was lesser or anything, but sometimes the score just needs to be a companion of a scene and not anchor the scene itself. Zimmer's score tends to do that.
@@highonfilms I don't think Nolan intentionally moved away from Zimmer. Rather, it was due to Zimmer's schedule for Dune 1 and after that, 2. So it's only logical for nolan to pair up with Lud since they have worked on Tenet together.
Same. I wasn’t so sure with best actor even though Murphy really deserves it! But now after Cooper didn’t win the golden globe I’m convinced they will also get best actor. I don’t really care for best picture as long Murphy, Nolan, RDJ and Göransson win 😅
Chances of winning: Editing: 100% Sound: 100% Score: 100% Supporting actor (RDJ): 99,9% Cinematography: 98% Director: 95% Leading actor: 95% Picture: 85-90% Screenplay: 30% I don’t see them winning supporting actress, Production Design or costumes at all
Even if it didn't DESERVE to win Best Picture, I believe that it would be very IMPORTANT if it did. Nolan being hailed with a Best Director and Best Picture would be a heavy influence on the cinema landscape, and it would bring anyone and everyone to their knees to be in bed with him, including the Broccoli's with their Bond property. Is Nolan above Bond? Sure. But can you imagine the buzz around a new Bond film "From Academy Award winner Christopher Nolan, the mind behind Academy Best Picture Oppenheimer," shot in large format? Assuming the film is great, this US/UK dual-citizen would bring in $2 billion, and he alone would net over $200 million. Of course, he doesn't have to do Bond. The point is any studio and virtually every actor will take every pay cut to ensure that he keeps the theatrical business thriving the way that it should. Hopefully everyone else follows as a result. Yeah... it's that important.
@@highonfilms The reputation? Yes. The promise of what it could bring? That's what the Oscars does. "I am a Best Director and I can make a Best Picture that the Academy will recognize as such." That speaks volumes.
I think it definitely will. I am predicting at least 8 wins. And also one of Nolan’s films has won an acting Oscar and that would be the late Heath Ledger for the Dark Knight for Beet Supporting Actor which his family claimed at the 2009 Oscars.
Best Picture, Best Director I think are a lock. Best Supporting Actor - Downey - also very likely. Best Cinematography, Best Adapted Screenplay a good chance.
Things are looking good for RDJ in Supporting Actor, but its an especially tough field and I fear it could be the category that ultimately doesn't win. It'll get at least one of Film or director, maybe both. I really hope it does well. I thought it was excellent. It's a film that stays with you.
While I hope Oppenheimer wins Best Director for Christopher Nolan, Best Lead Actor for Cillian Murphy, and Best Picture; I hope it’s not a total sweep for Oppenheimer. 2023 was a really great year for film (in my opinion) and I’d really love for other films from this year to get recognition too.
I believe it deserves almost evry single award that most people are giving it, but I dont believe Oppenheimer deserve it for Screenplay, not againts Anatomy of a Fall and Killers of the flower moon.
I think it’ll clean up at the Oscars. I’m going to predict: 1)Best Picture 2)Best Director 3)Best Actor 4)Best Supporting Actor 5)Best Cinematography 6)Best Score 7)Best Sound 8)Best Film Editing

Best Picture

Best Lead Actor
Best Supporting Actor
Best Score
Best Editing

It is a shame Emily Blunt is going to lose the Oscar too, she never gets any relevant acknowledgement.
