Since a lot of people are asking, this zoom event was hosted by Universal Music Group (UMG). I saw a local UMG facebook page post about it. To get a chance to win tickets, you had to fill out a form with your contact details plus your favorite Aurora lyric. I'm pretty sure it was a SEA exclusive event because the rsvp form only has SEA countries in it, but I also read that people got invited without filling out the form.
Aurora is one of the very few artists who sound better live than in studio. I also love those little mistakes, they make the performance unique and even more "live". Those songs are not "products" of "music industry". They are just music. The pure essence of it.
Right? I love it when she makes a "mistake" (Aurora could never possibly mess up!), can't quite put my finger on why. She is just such a beautiful soul and she is SOOOOOO genuine. I love her so much.
150%. The album versions of songs are just a little overproduced, and the tempos just a bit too fast. But live? My God, I can't begin to explain the depth of feeling Aurora conveys. She demonstrates that she doesn't need autotune, reverb, or anything. She is a gifted singer and musician. I wish that there were live albums available. Nidarosdomen, Haik, KEXP, and others.
She also does covers that are arguably better than the originals. Like Bowie's "Life on Mars", Massive Attack's "Teardrop" and "Believer" by Imagine Dragons. She might also be the ONLY person that could have done Nat King Cole's "Nature Boy" without destroying it. Amazing voice.. hope she keeps growing and doesnt fall to the mediocrity of satanic music.
I love how she plays the piano while constantly detaching her hands from the instrument to show her desire to interpret it with her body movements. It is a mannerism that I will never ever complain about! I love her 3,000!

If I heard that directly, not recorded, my brain would be cooked ;) I remember listening to my friends' band in their garage jam and I sat there 10 minutes in silence, completely frozen, slowly processing the musical feast I witnessed. The guys had a couple of seconds power failure, they forgot where they should continue the song and they all improvised creating some god level jam. Everyone, band members and me were speechless and stunned. Of course everyone knew they would never, ever play that again. Live music is the most powerful stuff ever. It literally blows your mind. I think all such jams should be available on Spotify though ;)
