I smile when I see a Nigerian succeed in Canada. You got Alvin kicking as* and taking names like a person from Southern Ontario would. I embrace that, but someone will still manage to call me a racist. Bizarre.
bacon is a flavor that takes over everything. and once it's been cooked once and you then cook everything else in the fat it just tastes burnt to me. I have no idea why you would let it anywhere near salmon.
Why are we pretending that this is good cooking? And on national television? How did they cast someone who has NEVER COOKED SALMON??? Using torches on wood??? Besides, anyone who watches this knows that they teach the contestants how to make the dish before they even make it…
Wtf does Asian inspired mean? That's like saying European inspired. Way to group a continent of like 30 countries with as much of a divergent on cooking style and recipe into one word. If you gonna use fish sauce, Vietnam inspired. Or southeast Asia inspired.
I don’t know why Alvin was shocked when Trevor said he didn’t taste it. If he did, he wouldn’t have put a lumpy purée and on top of that, the chefs know time is tight so they can’t taste every part of their dish.
1) It’s just for the dramatic effect, 2) It’s top 5, they’re expected to taste every component of their dish no matter the time crunch, they shouldn’t serve something whose quality they’re not 100% confident in to the judges
Hello Mr. I’m Mexican I love my food but in the minute 4:12 the machine that he use in the stove is for make tortillas no for heat or cooking I fell like “W” . Is a great show my respect but this is like OMG hahaha.
Trevor has the most effort but fish eyes aren't everyone's favourite, it looks like the dish is breaking apart when cut, the crispy one looks tasty but has a mismatch with the bottom texture, Brenda has all that covered, textures are great, looks yummy on the inside and outside which appeared to be juicy and appetizing even when presented on the menu where everyone likes to see.
One thing barry did wrong was he put the salmon in the pan the wrong way round. Always put the skin side down first or you could end up with soggy soft Salmon skin
Legit each one of em could have used more time to make their dishes better. You have 45 minutes or half an hour or twenty minutes to come up with a dish, you have to stick to what can be done in that time frame. Even whats his face had undercooked potatoes. Starch generally takes longer to cook.
canadian chefs are a mile away for being nice compard to americans. I watched the MC American version and the contestants are so mean to each other.. and they will never share in these pressure tests.

I like how chef Michael basically said "it's good, but here's how you can make it better"
He's always like that, very constructive criticism. Even back when they tried to be meaner in the early seasons.

💀👍🏻
🙂👍🏻
And with that huge advantage Miranda sent all her competitors to the next round.
What.
@@flamingnitro2925 she was eliminated after next challenge
So each of them wasted an entire salmon just for a tiny piece? 1 salmon would have been more than enough for all of them.
The point of the challenge was to test their ability to butcher the fish. I'm sure they didn't just throw away the salmon.
new game: take a shot everytime this channel re-uploads an episode
They kind have to for the Canadian version. There's only 7 seasons
You want a real drinking game take a shot every time Gordon Ramsay says the word raw on Hell’s Kitchen
This particular season’s participants were the best batch, very sophisticated, content, supportive of one another!
I personally think season 2 had better contestants
Too many sob stories
Season 2 was also great
