@@billfinch1079 hey, I see that Certano now has an entire tele bridge with built in benders. If I were to do this again I think I’d go that route. It’s only about $80 more than just the benders, and more foolproof to install.
Thanks for the video. I bought some certano benders after seeing troys video. I ended up selling the lap steel but i still have the benders. Guess they are going on my my squier tele. Cheers.
I have a different multibender, a modified hip shot like the one Seth Lee Jones uses. I play in open g and was having trouble figuring out the correct intervals for open e and d. Thanks for the great demo.
Guys, if you are guitar players, yes you can do a lot of cool stuff with benders. I'm a 12 string pedal steel, 8 string lap steel and tele player with same setup as this video. The tele is a blast, but being able to swing the arms a bit out of the way is very important to me. I find the arms get in the way of normal playing and palm muting. Still, I love having them on there. I actually play with 4 steel finger picks, that REALLY gives a pedal steel vibe. I highly recommend picks or at least learning to play finger style, it's a blast! That and lot's of volume swells and you'll be amazed at what you can do! And don't be afraid to take an unused guitar, raise the action and get a steel bar and make a lap steel with benders. The round typical bar sold at every music store is perfect. The one he's using here is somewhat limiting, the ability to "slant" the bar is huge on lap steel. Now you can drop as well as raise individual notes to some degree.
@@glenhenning9261 really good advice! I think there is huge potential in benders like this. I hope to get time to play with my bender-equipped tele more in the future
Nearly every RUclipsr who puts benders on a guitar says “very pedal steel sounding”. Ahh…….no. Benders are great and I love the sound of a well played Pull String, but don’t try to be a pedal steel.
This is super cool! This is the best video I've seen on the benders for tele (and I'm pretty sure I've seen at least 80% of them). Thank you!

The smartest setup for the G/B bender.

That's interesting, I just ordered a lap steel! I have no idea if I'll be able to get used to that mode of playing, but i'll find out!
Good video! Nice to know the Certano works with a G&L ASAT Classic, too!
Sounds terrific!

Did you use that for that intro lick on the new song?
Nope, didn’t think of it in time!
Thanks you for sharing your experimantation with palm benders i am about to jump on it soon
Thanks for this super video!
And thank you, Mr. Certano, for making such a quality product!
Gorgeous guitar.
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day
You gotta get a better slide. That one is not heavy enough to give the sustain the setup deserves.
is that a add on top of the normal nut or a whole new nut?
No change to the nut or the bridge. The bender goes right behind the bridge and affects just the B and G strings
Add a volume pedal
