Could be, but for wars such as these, terrain and shitty logistics are the primary factors as to why shit hits ths fan when invading russia and china. I have played as germany and japan so many times and faced these types of challenges countless of times.

Well, there's only so many minority groups you can release before there is just a mass of Russians, hence the territory and army. Sapmi did nothing the entire battle royale but didn't need to because of its location, same with Crimea. As for the USSR past the Urals and Central Asia, I think this is done using the Magna Europa Mod, which enlarges the number of tiles and the map size of Europe, while cutting off all other continents
