  • Saw this deer the day after I shot a much smaller 140 class 10 point the day before. Look carefully behind the trees on the right of the screen and you will notiice the shape of the deer working an overhead licking branch. He started to leave to the rightand I grunted him back in. He was only 4 feet to the right of the tree opening where I shot my buck the previous morning. After he walks to me he drifts right and smells and paws the depression in the snow where my deer laid the day before while waiting to be picked up.

Wow! The neck on that deer is the size of an average deer's torso. What a great deer. Hope that he is a prolific breeder.

I'm sure you will be rewarded with an even bigger buck next season!!! That's great that you followed the rules and just videoed the buck. I bet your heart still pounded just as hard. I've let many bucks go while hunting, even with an open tag.. to me it's as good as killing one. To get that close to not one, but two mature bucks in consecutive days means you're doing something right. Thanks for the video!!!

Wow!! What a nice boy there!! I wish more hunters were like this instead of out killing EVERYTHING that crosses their path. Deer can be just as beautiful alive as they can be dead and on your wall. I love waking up every morning and seeing the deer graze out back. I may take 1 or 2 down each season, but I dont believe in abusing it!! Thank you!!

Bucks of that quality are few and far between here in ohio....Guarantee 99% of people would have taken it first chance. And most will take anything, even a 4 point just to say they got one. Glad to see you let him pass. Hopefully he has grown quite a bit since 2009 XD

i take it you used all your buck tags? that deer laid on 3 good shots that I could count. glad he didn't die though. he's going to breed one healthy herd. sometimes, it's the right thing to let such a fine animal pass.

Maybe he's doing you better passing along those genes and you can get him next year...if he's been around that long...chances are he's slick enough, and you'll get your opportunity again...thanks for the video...keep em' coming

Well when it comes to "out of province" hunters, they only get 1 tag, period.
Also I believe last year they started only issuing only 1 either sex tag in most or all zones to local hunters in Saskatchean. So yea, I did my research, but thanks for your concern!

Breaking the law in regards to hunting is never ok. Canada has hunting laws to preserve our wildlife for future generations to admire hunt and appreciate. Any hunter who poaches is a piece of dirt and deserves to have his guns taken away and his hunting licence and his freedom taken as well. This man did an excellent job and is exactly what a hunter should be. Hunting for food and admire the rest of the year.

Obviously you've never hunted in Saskatchewan. All you get is 1 tag, but a guy who has hunted the world taking record class deer should know that right? Unless you are cheating and using a high fence ranch, then you can kill as many as your pay cheque will let you.

Lol. The "hunter" in this video sent me a personal message admitting that he hired a guide (and paid him $7000) to take him hunting on his fenced property, where they feed the deer with automatic feeders, and they could literally pet the deer. He (Gene Myers) is a fraud. Look at some of his other "tame deer" videos. Total fraud.
