    That's the smoothest sounding new holland baler I've ever heard. The rake makes lovely rows as well.

      Dave 4600 thanks she’s going well could do with a few chains being renewed over the winter

      @@MASSYMADMAN I would go to a transmission shop (belts and bearings) for the chain. The 276 has American chain, I went to the nh dealer and they gave me a conn link for a bs chain. Same pitch but the American chain is wider.

    Nice looking crop. A bale slay would be a useful addition. A lot of work involved with these bale, but worth the effort.
    Great video

    The sound alone takes me back to the old days, a Nuffield 460 and the Super Hayliner with a knackered knotter, and no sledge! We don't get the the weather for that kind of fun anymore.
    Great stuff!👍

      Bespokefencing sadly the weather Dictates everything. We were lucky enough to catch a dry spell to get this field as it rained the day after we baled it.

    That’s a great video. The windrows look familiar and then I notice you are using a Lely Lotus 300 rake tedder. We just bought and used for the first time this year the same rake tedder, only painted yellow and sold by Vermeer as the TR90. We have put up some videos of the rake tedder and the windrows are outstanding. I think I’m seeing you’re baler is a New Holland 276. There are a lot of those balers still going around here and have a great reputation. We run a John Deere square baler with a pan kicker and wagons. Thanks again for the video - looks great!

    That brings back memories of thirty years ago only the farmer had a 270 or 272, can't remember now and a 595, the baler and turner were on opposite tractors. He had a new Holland turner very similar to yours that had the arm to extend for rowing up, a bloody good machine. Your Leyland looks in superb condition! Have you restored her? Is it 4 or 6 cylinder?

      yes baling with the square baler brings back memoires for many. My Leyland is original condition just over 4000 hours its a 285 which is a 6 cylinder.

    Superb video my friend i remember in 76 my boss bought a 2100 i thought I'd died n gone to heaven. My first run out was with our Kidd full chop forager..
    My god did that tractor make that chopper blow.. side loading teagle titan 8 ton trailers. Seemed to load them in next to no time.. Happy days, but tell me besides the horse power difference 85 》100 what was the difference in the 285 and 2100.

    NOW!....You must send another tractor and 2 more men out to pick the hay bales up! Psssssst there is a hitch behind the baler for a hay wagon!

    I have a lotus 300 tedder/rower too. I see you were careful to move the bales out of the way. If you catch them with the machine it will break something as they are unfortunately not equipped with a shear bolt.

    • @ronnieg6358
      @ronnieg6358 4 года назад +2

      More about Lotus 300. I saw one at a sale where the idiot running it had the tines in the spreading position with the rowing gates attached. With prolonged use like this the tubular gate frame had worn through! Not to be discouraged he'd even welded patches on the gates.

    There's a rope guide fixed in top, so you've probably got a collector sledge, why not use it they save a lot of work

    • @MASSYMADMAN
      @MASSYMADMAN  4 года назад

      we use to have a small sledge but it was to old and seen to many good days at hay. We are on the look out for a flat 8.
      we only baled a 100 odd bales so got my wife to drive along the bales and I threw them on to the trailer.

    Why are you running the rake through the rows in front of the baker surper outfit I could watch and remember the smells of the bale in hay bests summers to be had

    • @MASSYMADMAN
      @MASSYMADMAN  3 года назад +1

      The rows was set out a little wider for the round baler so we had to bring the rows in a little to fit the pickup of the baler.

    Takes me back to the days of Idiot Cubes Ronge Ronge went the baler as the rev counter flicked up and down like a serpents tongue the 276 was an animal of a baler in its day as was the 376 with larger bale size the one i used would only behave if you were almost breaking the shear pin at all times ford 7700 seventh gear low dual power folloing a 16 Ft combine with a cooks flat 8 sledge happy days.
