The chain of events by which I found this.... I watched the original Magnetic North video, which has Christopher Bowes commenting on it saying "omg this sux", and when I realised it was actually him, I checked his channel where he made this mashup, which then linked to this awesome piece of work and this is now officially the best youtube hole I have fallen into! Thank you for this.

you can manipulate the timing of songs to match them up. while this is a ridiculously well done video, the "magic" of matching songs up comes down to pulling them into an editor and matching the times up, it's not very hard. Doing it at the level this video did? that's hard. I just wanted to throw it out there for anyone who wants to attempt this, it's doable.

Two reasons. 1, you can't copyright chord changes, tempo, or song structure, the only copyrightable elements of a song are the melody and lyrics, which Alestorm didn't steal. 2, Lady Gaga is a METALHEAD!
Magnetic North is THE greatest master piece Alestorm has ever created Creativity wise to music and clip combined I dont think i have ever seen anything so well done keeping it as unqiue and fresh as possible while epicly ripping off someone elses clip and song xD
