Just followed your video and now mine is fixed too. Even had to use the old disk like you did since my pressure wouldn't regulate. Thanks for a clear and consise explanation. Subscribed.
Thank you for this video!!! Freaking awesome!!!!!! I just found this compressor someone threw out. I found out a went by opening it up and found a disconnected wire. Hooked it up and it turned on. 🥳🥳 bla I’m going down the rabbit hole of videos of how to maintain it. I appreciate this video. Any issues that pop up for you please post it. Thank you again!!!!
I thought I was going to have to get red of my compressor. I got it for free and had this issue since day 2. I’m sure this is the issue and will replace on my next day off. I’m definitely subscribing after this. Thank you Sir!!!
Your video made the process easy! Thank you! I was aware to watch for the new disk in rebuild kit and immediately found it to be thicker than the old one, so I took the O ring off it and put it one the old disk. Works like new!
Thanks for your video. I have a Dewalt that I got at tractor supply. My assembly is shaped like yours but not repairable. It seems to have the same dimensions but I can't find any parts online for mine which I just did a video about . It's model DXCMSAC260 and it's apparently made a lot more cheaply than yours was . Using your model number I was able to find the assembly right away. Thanks!
Awesome video sir! i found a D55168 on the side of the road someone threw out. so im going through and troubleshooting it. Trying to figure out why it doesnt turn on. Thanks for this!
Honestly you really don’t need all that crap. A leak is always going to be a seal and you can match the seal from one at auto zone. To the guy that said the kits don’t work all I can say is it’s mechanical so it’s always rebuildable. Must be doing something wrong. The last one I installed lasted well over 5 years
I used these kits many times and they are junk. I don’t even use them anymore . 20 bucks a pop and they leak like that out the gate. Poor tolerances imho
Here’s a predicament. What if my old disc broke? The ‘stem’ on the inside completely fractured. Also, old disc was white and not nearly as ‘tall’ as the replacement. I have the part number they show! I’m having same disc fitment issue with no adjustability in pressure (remains at Max). Debating call Dewalt service line and screaming lol.
@@gspirit63 I used the new disc with the old o ring. Took the new disc, pressed an impact to hex adapter in the inside of the plastic stem. Attached it to my drill. Placed fine sand paper inside my hand, soft grip on the ring and ran it low speed to being the outer diameter down ever so slightly. Then placed the flat surface of the ring on a table of sand paper and worked it down a tiny bit. Lots of grease and finally got it to fit. Still doesn’t work as it did. But it works. Hopes this all makes sense.
Thanks for the video. I also had to do the disk and gasket swap to regulate the pressure.

Thank you! Your video made it super easy to repair the regulator on a D55146.

Thank you for this! It’s the exact problem I have :)
Great video. Just ordered the kit to fix the same problem on the same compressor. Thanks.

Good day, how did you take the black cap off of the regilator. It shows you snapping it back on and not to take it foo.
Super nice description.
disk is not the same thickness in the oem replacement kit? my leak is from a small hole in the plastic body just above the threads under the cap
Very well explain,great job.
At thd end you snap on the knob that turn the regulators. How did you take it off?
Just extend it out and pry gently outward with screwdriver
@@johnburnett6180 thank you

I'm in the exact same situation.
