With a focal distance of 35mm, I have two, or, three lenses. The present one, a Contax Carl Zeiss f/1.4 (that I will do a review of it), and next to them the MIR1 37mm f/2.8, Version of Brusell's Grand Prix award winner (it's to be reviewed too). I'm not sure about the present lens being too one of the winners of the same Expo of 1958. Can anyone of you confirm this? By the way, recording this lens over my coffee table was taken by the Contax Carl Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 and another one of the same maker. Saying this, you already guessed it.
If you love the rendering of its bokeh maybe try a Jupiter 8 that's cheaper and easier to find in the market, no matter a normal one or Red V edition (just ad a polariser). The design, it's a "Y". I could do more if I'm not running out of time.
I agree with you, the front element is a magnifying glass for the rear element, removed, is like an ugly macro, you can use other lenses less precious for this purpose. My concern is this lens will come "expensive" if accidentally broke it. It's not a Helios that went into thousands of production. Production time was only from 1958 to 1963 aimed to be paired with the K, then after, from 1959 to 1962 was introduced another 35mm f/3.5, a very slow lens with incomparable bokeh. I will always handle this lens with care. Thanks for watching.🙂

The special magic of this vintage lens works well in night scenes on an old Fuji body...

Thank you.
One of my favorite lenses , great video 👍 , thank you)
I have to thank you too. This lens is rare in terms of wasteful overuse, which means, it doesn't come cheap to my collection.
Quite pleasing Bokeh, also the design is interesting!

@@red_code I love the bokeh and I like this focal length so I'll definitely search for the Jupiter 8! Thanks for the recommendation!
removing the front element of the lens allows for a reduction of mfd.
