I really wish Bethesda would give us options with the weather stations; let me pick the effect and sounds, and adjust how loud the sounds are. I mean, I love the look of the Thunderstorm weather station, and the aura effect of the new snow station, and would love to be able to lower the volume of the sound… so why not let us pick and choose what we want?
It would be worth it if it didn’t make the entire interior of my camp pitch black with how Bethesda messed up the lighting. Literally need your Pip-Boy light just to find your way through the inside of my camp
If anyone has the fire floor decorations, you can merge the medium fire into the deathclaw roaster to give it a really cool underglow and way more immersive atmosphere
There's a similar issue with the Halloween candy bowl - unless you like the organ music, you gotta remove it from your camp. They should add silent versions of each such item. Also, a permanent dark night weather station, please!
@@LaughingGremlin And still you can go around Appalachia and there are C.A.M.P.s with it going. 😂 It should just automatically disappear when Halloween is finished. 😅
@ I had an old camp with that bloody Halloween bowl still there. I quickly got rid of it, but it will be back. It’s like the ring of Sauron, it just won’t die.
So, the lighting inside being cold made me think. It would be cool if they had a “capital wasteland” and “Mojave wasteland” weather station that just have everything those iconic green and sepia tints everywhere in your camp.
The colors depends on the location. A friend of mine put in his camp at Ash Heap and is totally different of mine camp at Toxic Valley. In the Ash Heap is more dark and more orange. The one you put is more green because is in The Forest probably.
I don't know about the other stations, but for my Thunderstorm weather station, there's an option in settings about Severe weather or something like that (not in game to look). It turns off the thunder sounds and you only hear the rain.
This kinda makes me want to create some sort of Creepy Halloween Mansion with a hidden Enclave lab below, maybe half recessed in a cave or something like that, and Isn't that desire to create a new camp just what this is for?
Speaking of the aurora station, I had a bug with it where I visited a teammate's CAMP that had it & when I fast traveled back to my CAMP, the effect persisted until I left the radius of my own weather station.
My favorite weather station thus far is the Mothman equinox one it’s the perfect level of darkness for the lighting in my camp, and there aren’t any annoying sounds. And it looks cute too next to my mothman shrine area.
I think the new enclave water cooler should give more water since it is bigger than the normal one. Plus, where's the cups? Do we drink right out of the spigot? Strange. Oh well.
yeah, lighting up my camp bright white would be a no go for me lol. I can't use most of the lighting in the game because they are obsessed with the blinding, office-like, fluorescent lighting look. Also, im guessing the green is popping because of the color wheel. I wanted the aurora weather station, but, with the forced snow, it wasn't going to work for me. Hopefully in the future they will come out with an aurora without snow. I'm happy about all the new ones they're giving us though. Now for a medicine cabinet that works like an ammo box, for chems
No complaints for a freebie; it does more than many other plain stations. Too bad I don't see my self using it, but I am sure there's others who might find it awesome to be on all the time. Personally I wouldn't pay Atoms for it. Give it some time and it will be added to the Gold Bullion shop.
"We can't afford to give too much for 'free', as it would overshadow other paid items" It's definitely intentional - the weather is already present in the game, probably they wanted people who love more orange-y tones to get either the pre-existing ones or the ones that they've already planned ahead. I know, sounds like conspiracy but, think about it, we're still paying real money for a lot of assets that come from Fallout 4😅 (tesla cannon included)
I'm a Fallout Whore and buy EVERYTHING in the Atomic Shop (doesn't hurt that I have a high paying job with Microsoft as a Network Engineer). I didn't like the Halloween weather station but loved all the rest. So how does the Snow (Aurora) vs. the original Snow weather stations vary? Thanks for this review and love the channel!
Okay, nothing for me. Aurora: quite nice visual effects, but music and BIRDS? Come on.... I stay with Atlantic City and the ☃️. My favorite would be a combo of both. 👍
I like the nuke zone weather station A LOT, but I have some complaints. 1. It's MASSIVE! I have a Lil' nook I hide all my weather stations in but this one just won't fit! It's honestly not too bad, I mean I can move it somewhere else but it's annoying that EVERY OTHER STATION fits there and this one doesn't. Really throws off my builds style. 2. ITS UNBELIEVABLY DARK!!! I have literally everything lit up at all times for that authentic look but no matter how many lights I have on its pitch black inside my living room. 3. I have players that complain about the lighting. They come in and see my vendor out in the open, then they approach and boom! They can't see a thing! I had one low level player come in and literally stumble around for about 2 minutes trying to find the door! That's about it for me, if anyone has anymore complaints lmk I love hearing them!
I intend to use the nuke weather station, whenever I unlock a 4th camp slot. Use an exisitng destroyed structure with ram shackle or destoryed build sets with the focus of the camp being the "revealed" shelter that was exposed. Which shelter I use I don't know yet. I have a Trading Post, my Homestead and a "traveling caravan shop" that I move from time to time.
Seems like they hit a creative wall for now. What weather type or effect would come next? I might get it just in case but I am not grinding for it as I look toward to 150 and beyond. I will get the goodies that I might ever use in building like I always do. Without any prefabs this season I slated the 2000 Atoms for the winter retreat bundle. Hopefully we get some xmas bundles, I think it is time for us newer player to get seasonal. See you all on Tuesday live.
I will have to try it myself. From what I saw here I like the look, but the sound would drive me nuts. Right now I am using the Moth-man weather station for my Enclave camp; I don't think the Nuke Zone station will replace it.
I really want the it just because i love the weather stations the aura one they just released was so good when i saw they were doing one like this i wanted it also but the grind to get it though is eh.
When I go to my camp I want to be Able to see things! I don't need all that noise constantly in my ear it's very obnoxious and annoying like the thunderstorm.
All the time it is on, it should give you very slow radiation, so you have to go back and check on things or watch your camp fall to pieces. I do wish they would fix the sound from the tesla cannon, it gets very irritating quickly, like 20% of its current volume might be ok, but currently it is bring it out to use then hurry and put it away due to that noise
I'll get this one eventually, because it's in the scoreboard. But, do I actually care to get it? Nah. Just something that passively comes along to get my ticket count for the last bonus page.
Has the lighting become a lot darker when using the skyline valley weather station for you? Mine is way too dark now so I took it off, depth of field adjustment made no difference at all lol.
I think the roaring is wildfire driven gales. A forest fire or wild fire can sometimes make its own weather system. Real nuke zones elsewhere in the game have poor visibility. I believe its radioactive smoke.
The winter aurora weather station is too loud for my taste...gets annoying quickly. I like the old winter weather station. This Nuke Zone Station seems less annoying as far as noise but the camp lighting doesn't seem attractive...
Yes. Drop a nuke in an area that has the color flora you want. Equip Green Thumb with a teammate and run around getting everything for an hour. Ideally you should drop a nuke in a place with enemies first so that they mutate and you get the mats to stabilize the flux before it goes inert. Mats don’t spoil, so you can keep them in your stash for future runs. Stable flux is a junk item, so if you’re FO1 you can stash lots of it for the future.
@@Gamer_Aviator Thanks for the information. But I think I was unclear. I wanted to know if the Nuke Zone Weather Station allowed for Flux farming. I'm guessing not, but I don't actually know.
You asked, so, based on your review, "It stinks!" Not your review, it, like everything you do, is so great. I meant the the the you know the theee thingy! And no rads from it? Pfffftbtbtbt. Fail.
The problem is that everyone has different opinions. You keep saying they just miss the mark. But in truth are they, or are you just judging based on your own opinion? LOVE the Aura weather station. But holy crap does it get annoying with the sound. That background music or what ever it is is a huge turn off. This one doesn't seem too bad. But the thunder on them all are turned to 11.
lmao I don't care if it's worth the grind or not, bunch of freaks at Bethesda make almost 50% of the items FO1st exclusive on the season and there's still not enough enemy spawns in the real world to have fun in the game with buddies like I've always wanted this game to be. What's the point of making a cool CAMP if you can't defend it in waves of enemy spawn with friends unless you're paying $13 a month for a custom world?
Oh :D Sorry about that. I wasn't actually speaking through him. I just had to set up the station in his camp, but never is he on camera pretending to be speaking in my voice. :)

I keep fallout 1st if you are a serious player you should contribute to the development of the game and help the people that make it possible get a beer and a steak. I try to spend 60 100 dollars every week and auto pay fallout 1st. The weather station has the same bright lighting effect that the snow one does the old snowman and it has the sky of a nuke zone but everything else is a rad storm 😂😅

A rad storm weather machine would be cool.
This would be a good weather station for a ghoul character
Oh yes! I didn't even think of that. Brilliant!
yes and you can build at the radiation dump in skyline valley they'd go good together
I like the way you think
Or for a nuclear Búnker themed Camp
I find the Aurora Station white noise extremely peaceful. That must be my adhd. But the others are a bit loud.
I love it too. I never want to leave my camp.
Biggest reason I bought it was the sound and the sky, the snow was just bonus.
I really wish Bethesda would give us options with the weather stations; let me pick the effect and sounds, and adjust how loud the sounds are.

100%
So I found out you could get this for free for a limited time by dropping a nuke on your camp, it destroys everything though
It would be worth it if it didn’t make the entire interior of my camp pitch black with how Bethesda messed up the lighting. Literally need your Pip-Boy light just to find your way through the inside of my camp
Oskapt loads his character and goes to his camp and asks “Hey, where’s my weather station? This isn’t Atlantic City….”
hehehe already happened. :D Sometimes I change things and forget to tell him.
it sounds like a RAD storm
We do need a radstorm weather station.

Yes please.
That Halloween candy bowl sound was driving me crazy! I was glad to scrap that crap. I think I have PTS, cause I still hear that sound!
@LaughingGremlin I thought it was the mothman time or Atlantic City weather machine doing it for the longest time, lol

As long as there isn't any melodic music in the background 🙄 Bethesda completely missed on the "Aurora" weather machine.
I always enjoy your reviews! I run atlantic city normally as well.
i didn't know the aurora one had sound till i got it, It doesn't need sound tbh
The laser carbine and the brick cooking station, are now working
Yay!!!

Not a huge fan of that one but I love the aurora weather station. The music and bird song is fantastic.
I’ll probably get it because in this season there isn’t much that excites me to work towards so I need something to spend tickets on.
I think in the right location that would be great for a theme build but I wouldn't use it for an everyday camp.
I like the look of it, I use the thunderstorm station just for the look of the camp item itself
I look forward to getting it. I think it looks cool, although it isn't what I expected.
