Very informative. I currently use the Michelin XAS 180s. Expensive, but very nice ride. I needed to use a slightly smaller (and less expensive) tire for the spare so it would fit in the boot. I remember when I first purchased my BT7 way back in 1971 I used Michelin ZX 165 tires - surprisingly, they were also the same size tire used on the VW Beetle!
Very expensive and I’ve heard from the pros that they aren’t very good in the wet but the blockleys are... can’t speak from experience but it was a massive no brained to us when did the maths vs performance sums!
Yes. The Blockleys sound like a good option for the future. Will be interested in your assessment once you have the car on the road.
All will be documented in our run in videos 😎
@@Resto.Nation The best are expensive these blockleys are too small when viewed at the side of the car plus they don't do many miles very soft compound I know.
Good videos , thanks , may I ask what you think of the new Blockley tyres ? are they grippy ?
I am looking for more"stick" , how do you rate these tyres ? (100 owner )
Hi there, we are still waiting to go away for paint so haven’t had a chance to drive the car yet. It will be next spring when we get a chance so I can update from there. Give JME a call if you want to know more about them
Looks like a decent company and with a good service. What size tyres did you go for? I plumped for the Michelin XAS 180HR15 as I wanted the diameter to be as close to the original as possible.
Luego lover Steve, we were recommended the 165VR15 by blockley and have been assured that they fill the arch perfectly and give adequate ground clearance.
@@Resto.Nation Sorry mate the Michelin 180x15 are the most suitable I know .
@@bertiewooster3326 nothing to be sorry about. It’s only an opinion 👍🏻
What size tyres did you select?
I can’t remember sorry. I haven’t got the car at the moment so can’t check.
XAS180s best by far , no debate the best I know.
In your opinion 😂
@@Resto.Nation based on track,on tour, longevity, quality , looks on car to correctly fit the wheelarch that's the standards I use.
WD40 is everywhere👍🇳🇱😉
How Brits talk about money. I paid $250 usd for 5 tires. You say you can beat that?
We get free healthcare beat that !
