I’m so glad I found your videos! You’re so wonderful! I’m usually up a couple of hours before my husband, so I’m loving my new routine of putting on one of your flosstubes, and enjoying my morning coffee and some stitching to start my day to “our” chats.😊 Seeing your approach has taught me what, ridiculously, never crossed my mind-to be ok with my apparent tendency to have a tonne of things started, and just embrace my nature of picking them up and doing however much when I feel like it, and then picking up something else after getting nowhere close to finished, and being ok that they’ll be done when they’re done, even if it’s years. So thank you so much for that happy change in brain space!
It makes me so happy that my ramblings helped in some way! Always do what feels good, and keeps your happy creative juices flowing- we all approach and process things our unique ways!
The Bougie Stitchers sent a shout out that I should watch your video. That it was fun and full of great things. They were absolutely right. I love every 150 minutes of it. Since I started with your first one, I will now take my time and watch all of your others in order. I look forward to seeing your quilting.
How lovely! I will have to go watch it! I have heard of them, but not watched nay of their videos yet. Thank you for watching, and for the recommend in turn! ☺️
I enjoyed very much watching your video and if you hadn't said it, I wouldn't think that it was your first! Very nice patterns and stitching, and beautiful project bags. Looking forward to your next one 😊🧵🪡
I love your Flosstube channel, Laura. I had to come and start watching from the beginning as I am all caught up on the most recent videos. Have a great day!
Lots of inspirasjon, love looking at wip parade, and you har alott looovly ones!! Looking forward to Next flosstube 🌹😍🤗 ( lot of sounds, nerves i bet ,lot of energi )
You know you are addicted when the flosstube host holds up a picture and you can name it before she does. Not like it’s a bad thing though. More like a peaceful madness. Nice job on number 1.
What a fun video. Gosh lots of work already. Love your enthusiasm don't let it go ever. Absolutely love your very pretty fabrics. I love colours too. It's difficult to find a favourite here but they're all great projects.
I have been listening to you talk about difficulties with stitching on stiff Aida, your hand issues and wanting to change the Aida for something else. Before you do that have yoy tried washing the Aida to get the sizing out of it. I have done this and it is now like a whole new and soft fabric and is a joy, instead of a drudge, to stitch on. Wash it, and when it is partly dry, iron it with a dry, no steam, iron. It is perfectly satisfactory to do this even if there is stitching in progress on the fabric, and it is a whole lot cheaper than new fabric. You are doing so well with your first flosstube which I will now get back to. Hugs. Jo.
Well hello you! Can I just say how utterly charming you are? I feel like I met a kindred spirit. I’m a 51 yo First Nations woman living and crafting in the Yukon Territory (Canada) and we have so many things in common I can’t believe it. I’m just coming back to stitching this week after a year and a half hiatus. Before that I had a several year break. I’ve been stitching since I was 19 but now I’m primarily a knitter. For quite a number of years quilting was my go to and I even taught at my local shop. I’m excited to be coming back to my stitching. Knitting though has got me through so many down times. That and animal crossing and KPop. I watched your first floss tube over the course of two nights and my daughter listened to part as her and I hung out. She spotted similarities immediately. Jaws is my comfort movie. I watch it at least once a month, sometimes more. I made a Sasquatch quilt! I just printed off a mothman pattern I bought on Etsy. And I too have said that the act of stitching is what I enjoy the most. Finishing? Yeah that’ll happen eventually but I love simply holding a needle in my hand and working with thread. Oh and a good pair of scissors! You know that feeling when your quality scissors cuts that thread? Oh it’s heaven. Anyway, thank you for sharing. Thank you for not being afraid to get real (or if it did scare you, you totally were brave and powered through). Don’t worry I do guberish things too 🫢 I am looking forward to your next flosstube and enjoying this journey with you and your subscribers. Take care.
I am so glad we are able to connect here! I just started a new island in Animal Crossing- and I too love K-Pop. Do you watch any dramas? It is harder to watch them with stitching, but on days my body decides to be evil and I am unable to anything else, I love to binge a good K-drama. Good scissors are a must! I will share my two favorite pairs with you in my next video. :) I JUST finished a Sasquatch quilt top last week! You are right... we have much in common. Welcome, friend.
@@LaladeeStitches I have not yet started watching kdramas. I know the type of person I am I would get hooked and binge watch and during the week I’m just too tired after work and life. I told myself that once it starts to cool off again which, we are in the Yukon you know, could be tomorrow, that I would start but I was unsure where to start! If you have any recommendations let me know. Take care and “see” you soon lol.
Seattle Stitcher talked about you in her latest video. I decided to start at your first video. You are a very busy beautiful sticher. So many projects to admire. I love the Shores of Hawkrun, so beautiful. You are a prolific diverse stitcher, wow. I look forward to watching all your videos.
lots of lovely stitchy makes to keep you busy. Thank you for the video a great 1st one and most enjoyable. Wishing you all the best from the UK for your channel. :)
What a wonderful first video......you have some beautiful whips! Your personality is so happy and bubbly and you're a joy to watch. Plum Street Samplers has a Sasquatch pattern.
Welcome to the Seattle area. You did a great job with your video. You had a nice mix of designs--many of which I now want to stitch-- and you just sparkled. I stitch for the process too, so I especially enjoyed hearing you talking about watching the colors and stitiches blend into something wonderful. Two Martini Stitcher also talks about driving down to Acorns and Threads. Maybe we should organize a caravan of Seattle stitchers someday. In the meantime, Threadneedle Street in Issaquah is a very nice shop. I look forward to seeing more of you and your work.
Hi glad I ran into your flosstube great job.. could not tell your nerves. But I do understand as I am a new flosstuber as well. I am enjoying it. 😉 your stitching is great. I also have lots and lots of wips. And I enjoy stitching one for a while and changing it. Welcome to flosstube looking forward to your next video. Keep them coming.
This was a great first floss tube!! You said you were nervous, but you sure did a good job. You’re a natural. 👏👏👏. And WOWIE KAZOWIE…. You have a LOT of WIPs. 😂😂😂
Great first Floss Tube Like you, I love Autumn at Hawk Run Hollow but I have not stitched it yet. I tend to love villages of all kinds. Someone asked me if I liked Houses as I have so many stitched in my home.lol It is always fun to see a WIP parade. Thanks for sharing.
I love houses too- I sometimes get overwhelmed by the immensity of some the saltbox houses-so many stitches! But they are so cute mixed into designs! :) Kindred spirits you and I. :)
Really enjoyed your first Floss Tube, you are a natural. Congratulations, your choice of patterns is along different lines of a lot of Floss Tube segments. Giving folks different ideas is what it is all about for me. I will be watching for now on, keep going.
Hi, I just found your Flosstube. I can’t believe it went for so long as it just seemed to fly by. Your stitching is amazing and I get that you stitch for pleasure and not for the finishes. The last chart you showed with the woodland animals…..never was interested in that chart until you showed the ones you finished. That squirrel is just so gorgeous. I really liked the other one too. I may need to find the chart. I am from Kirup Western Australia
Hello and welcome! 😊 The squirrel is my favorite from that set as well... so far. There are some others that have the potential of being just as cute. Some patterns just don't do the finish justice! :)
So glad that you decided to start a flosstube channel. I find you very relatable and enjoyed seeing all of your WIPs. I’d love to see a video of how you start a new project.
Glad I found your channel. Your sweet furbaby was looking at you wondering who you are talking to no doubt😂. I am a quilter too. Similar story, dropped cross stitch got heavy into quilting and now I do more stitching . Have a mountain of quilt fabric to deal with though so I better get sewing too.
Lol, yes she certainly wondered at the extended conversation with "myself". I feel the mountain of fabric- I have the same- of which I always become acutely aware after we move. Oh well! Keeps me out of trouble! 😂
Enjoyed your No. 1 - your shining and joyful personality comes through in such a charming way. While I watched, I knitted a cotton dishcloth for a gift, so two birds…😊. Next time be sure to show your project bags. They’re as much fun to see as the stitching that’s inside them! Looking forward to the next one!
Hi Laura, I watched your most recent episode (wasn’t able to leave a comment for some reason) and knew I wanted to binge watch all of them. I’m a bit shocked that this episode is your first because you are a natural and I can tell you’ll be a favorite of mine. Beautiful projects and lovely stitching. Another Washingtonian here over in the small town of Goldendale, but lived in Oregon for decades before moving here. I’ve never gotten to visit Acorn & Threads (but hope to!)as I didn’t get back into cross stitching till a bit over a year ago. Very different from my 80’s and 90’s stitching lol Oh my! The designs! I’m a quilter also and hope you’ll show some of your quilts at some point. Off to episode 2. Have a great weekend. Suzette
Thank you so much for the kind words! I love making these videos and meeting lovely people like yourself. I recognize Goldendale, not sure if I have ever been though. One day you will have to go to Acorns- it is worth the stop. Thanks for watching! 🥰
Just started following you. So fun and enjoy all your projects. I must say I love, love the quilt on your ironing board. Would love to know more about it. I am fascinated with Mira's although I may not ever approach it, they are simply beautiful . On to your next video!
Thank you! It is a quilt designed by Jen Kingwell called Midnight at the Oasis- It has been a lot of fun to work on. Though it has also turned into a bit of a labor of love as I have redesigned the third round and that took time. The next row is over 50 tiny churn dash block- it will be fun! But will make a mess of my room, so I am procrastinating it. Haha
I am new to cross stitch, about 5 months into my new addiction. I watch a lot of flosstubes to get tips and see some of the projects that others are working on. I only do one project until it is finished so I only ever have one WIP at a time. I don't understand how some of you guys have so many of them laying around! I also crochet and have been doing that for years and I have WIPs from that all over the house. But so far, I haven't had the desire to start a new project with cross stitch until the current one is done.
I was like that as well. I now have many wips, both cross stitch and knitting. There is just something gratifying in the sound of thread being pulled through that blank canvas.
I am a monogamous stitcher also. I never could wrap my head around kitting up so many projects which winds up making you have numerous skeins of the same color and just how many can I work on at one time. I work on one until it’s finished. I also do hand embroidery so when I want to take a break from Crosstitch I do that but I have been doing Countrd Crosstitch for many years and have never had the desire to do more than one project at a time.
Haha! Welcome to the happiest addiction! I totally get it. I had a time where I didn't understand having alllll the projects. Somewhere along the way I just lost my marbles. lol. I do the same with my quilting. I am much better at finishing my crochet because it takes more space. That being said, the afghan I started in January is only half stitched.... so... I guess that is why I have an entire room for hobbies. :)
@@LaladeeStitches Thanks for the response! In fairness, my projects are small, less than 200x200 and not full coverage. I am positive once I start a HAED, I will need to take a break and work on something else!
@@wickedkat5061 I can testify to needing a break from a HAED project, lol. HAEDS are long term projects. I am also a monogamous stitcher for the most part, but will do a small or a Mill Hill kit on a short break from my HAED project as a palette cleanser. Sometimes you just need a break. One thing I can’t wrap my brain around is people that have multiple HAEDS on the go. I know I would never finish them before I kick it, and wouldn’t want to burden my kids with a bunch of unfinished stuff. I’d rather they inherit a few good pieces, than a bunch of unfinished ones, but hey, that’s just me. So far they want the ones I’ve finished…or so they say, haha 😆
OMG great first flosstube! 😍 I am also doing Gaia the Earth Goddess- I love her! And I'm also doing hive rules! I have to catch up on the rest of your videos.... Congrats 🎉 💜
Good job on your first Floss tube. I started cross stitching again about 5 years ago after not having done it since my kids were babies in the 90's, I started a bunch of things on Aida before I realized linen was available and have since given up on them. I just didn't enjoy stitching on Aida with 2-3 strands of floss. Once I started 36 count linens, I never looked back. My advice is don't waste your time on things you don't enjoy. Especially if you are all about the process.
Good advice for sure, I probably have a few I should retire permanently. Makes more time for happy projects I love! Heaven knows I have enough in my wish list to fill the "gaps". haha! :)
You are a joy to watch! Welcome, welcome to floss tube!! I recently got back into stitching after three decades! I did many precious moments cross stitch back in the day..lol. This year I've completed two Brenda gervais, two stitching with housewives, and two large projects that were stamped (squirrels) for my hubby. I'm a monogomus stitcher. Please do a quilt projects show and tell sometime too! I love the sasquatch embroidery your friend made for you! The rotary cutter..lol 😂
Thank you! It sounds like you have been very productive! I love Breda Gervais designs. :) I would love to do a Quilty episode sometime, I will make a note for that to happen.
Oh my goodness you are so fun to watch!! I just found your channel ( apparently I have been living under a rock!🤪🤦♀️) You have some beautiful WIPs. Can't wait to get to your next videos! 😊
Love your Flosstube! We have a lot of similar projects. I am working on The Shores of Hawk Run Hollow as I am watching you. Also have The Barbara Ana Seasonal Ladies ready to start.

Haha
Thank you for letting me know. Really lovely. See you soon!
Hello from Australia, just came across your channel 🤗
You spoke like you have done this for ages. So enjoyed your video and already subscribed. Looking forward to more and updates. 💕
Very good. Just a bit of issues hearing you but I could see your projects. I did have my volume at 100%. Excited for #2.
Enjoyed for first flosstube. Thanks for sharing.
Loved your first video!!! Happy Birthday month!!
Thank you!
Very much enjoyed your first video and seeing all of your lovely projects. Looking forward to next time.
Really enjoyed your video. You are delightful and all the way through I kept saying “we could totally be friends!”

Hello from the Netherlands 👋.
I sort of accidentally found your flosstube and enjoyed watching it very much. Although I am not a monogamous stitcher (or knitter, or crocheter...) at all , I was kind of shocked to see all your WIPs 😄. But they're all good ones! 😉 Looking forward to your next video, good luck with your channel 🍀
