Get outta my head! I've been saying the same thing but I think it should have been called the "Jeep Grand Cherokee Sport E" the Wagoneer nameplate is too closely associated with the full sized version. Jeep needs to change the name immediately rebrand it and make it a hybrid.
The other thing I need to see is what a road trip looks like as in how effective is the route planning in terms of charging stops etc. and does it avoid routing you to charge stations which are broken or the wrong type. This is something the other manufacturers, excluding Tesla, seem to struggle with.
So, 300 mile range means 150-180 actual. Won't work for 90% of families. My family vehicle needs to be able to take my family long distances. This will sit on lots like the Dodge Hornet.
What is there to be excited about?? After the acceleration, there's nothing exciting. As an automotive journalist it has to be tough to be excited about EVs, kinda like being excited for a new refrigerator.
i was about to get ready to trash this, but 300 miles on a 100kwh battery means they did some things right. aerodynamics is a really good start. My model s is only a little better in terms of efficency. well done, jeep.
I think it’s a good ev but a wagoneer electric to me should’ve been similiar to the Escalade IQ. They could’ve used the ramcharger drivetrain and made a really cool vehicle
It will be interesting to see how the range is in independent testing. I usually go by Car and Driver's range at 75mph. The main situation where I would be concerned about an EV's range would be on a road trip, and we usually drive 70-75mph on the freeways in the mid-west, so the Car and Driver number is the one I look to.
Maybe they will offer that in a less expensive future version. I thought the same things about the ID Buzz, which has 20" wheels! Could probably get another 25 or 35 miles range on 18s. Which is big on a 235 mile Van
@@fcv1967almost no one. I've definitely seen a heavily modded Wagoneer in Moab. I'm guessing it had at least a 4" lift and 35s on it. It was quite ugly but was definitely out there
@@veganpotterthevegan Maybe not much "off-road," but part of owning a jeep for many is still traveling on less traveled roads (or road adjacent areas intentionally or not...:) that need ground clearance, and a general ruggedness. I know that's always been part of my family's jeep experiences.
Agree with the others who say it looks like a decent enough vehicle but probably better sold as a Chrysler. Just doesn’t seem like a Jeep. Do appreciate the effort and hope it works for them.
The fact that it does not climb over rocks is a very good thing in my opinion because this is helping with efficiency and 90 some percent of us don’t go offloading anyway I know you’re in Colorado, but most of us are not and later on will probably be more variations so that will be an option no doubt in the future, but this is a great starting point It looks like very nicely designed. Thank you very much for getting us off to an early start seeing what it’s all about.

The idea of taking a new 70 - 100K vehicle and driving it over big rocks is ludicrous.
People take million dollar Earth Roamers off road. Many drivers don't care about the cost at all because that money doesn't mean much to them. All while needing new suspension on a 95 Civic can bankrupt someone else.
I just drove one few min ago and posted a short on my chanel of doing 0-60 in it but i didnt realize when u turn on sport mode it automaticly turns off traction so i had lots of wheel spin.
I would love to see a new retro style XJ. There's zero chance they'd do another unibody with solid axles, but I'd love to see an affordable XJ inspired modern small SUV. Even if it just had the turbo 4 cylinder.
I think this is the best looking Jeep. I’ve seen so far and appears to be borrowing a lot of of the features of the new charger, which is a good thing.
That's a different platform than this car. This car is STLA Large, Peugeot is STLA Medium. I also think many American customers would be displeased with the fact that the powertrain in the e-5008 is only 170 kW, even though it is adequate for the purposes of the car.

EVs need to stop having too much horsepower and being fast and focus on range instead. They cost way too freaking much and have a lot more issues on average than any other fuel type.
I would go for this over a Model Y all day. It's a much better-looking vehicle. Wish it shipped with NACS and access to the Tesla Supercharger network.
I hope now that Jeep has a new CEO they start taking better care of there customers I mainly mean 4xe owners with all the recalls and other issues a lifetime warranty would be one way to start I hear so many complaints on Facebook fortunately mean has been pretty flawless
It really doesn't need to have Jeep on the hood. Hoods are for logos and emblems. Like Range Rover that comes from a utility vehicle (no a luxury), background. This is anything but a utility vehicle. It has far more luxury than utility. However, if it going to put Jeep up front, the it needs to be off-road capable above all else. At least Range Rover can claim that. On second though, there is he Evoc. or did it fail for this very reason?
I dig the design, i would have wanted to get more of your personal thoguhts on this car, since you are reviewing it, however I do appreciate the little insight on the lower trims prices. Do you know when those might be released? They should have started with the lower trims first. But overall, i do hope it succeeds. It may be hard though with the price tag.
Nice shout out to AoA. This looks like a decent first effort, but the slow charging and low ground clearance are handicaps. The price is too high for me, but it's in line with other premium Jeeps today.
I am hoping that it will be at the Chicago Auto-show coming up in February. I have a 2019 Grand Cherokee Summit and have been waiting to get a new Grand Cherokee or this Wagoneer S. I do believe it is going to be an awesome vehicle once the bugs are worked out of it.

It seems to be closer to the Grand Cherokee than the Wagoneer, so why not "Grand Cherokee Watt Hawk" (wow that is terrible) if Jeep feels it must be linked to an existing product? ... Now that I typed out Watt Hawk I can't help but believe a "Watt Wrangler" is already in the works.... I hate that I put these out into the universe. I am sorry, everyone.

Can’t imagine it will sell well. I have two jeeps and this does not conform to what Jeeps can do and the price does not help it. In general all Jeeps are now outside my ability to buy so the two jeeps I have will remain in my driveway until they go to the junkyard.

The NACS charger is the North American standard, it's open to use.
The standard is open to use but only Tesla has NACS chargers at the moment. Electrify America and EVGo are CCS/chademo

Doesn't look like it could tackle the Rubicon trail in stock form. A 4" lift and 40" tires might make it a bit more off road ready.

Seat material is vinyl. Leather is always the way to go for interiors, but that since fired CEO was all about cost cutting and here is another one.
Need to see how well it charge, second real range test. Once those results are shown then I make my judgement, other than that it does look nice.
