God turned me around. My first love and only love is Jesus. God changes people and things. No, my aunt always loved me. She never judged me but she prayed for me constantly. Seems to me his faith and his relationship with God and with his family and with everyone else that truly matters is still very much alive and well. Another amazing Christian artist who's ministry impacted me in the 90's. I believe that the fact that Ray still sings about the Lord, means God is at work. Love covers a multitude of sins.
NO. love does not cover any sin. Sin is sin. The blood of Jesus is the only thing that covers sin but you have to ask for forgiveness and refrain from doing that sin. Mr. Boltz kicked God aside because he would rather partake in his sin than to give it up for God. He will rue the day eventually if he continues living in his sin. For him to sing about God/Jesus is making a mockery of God while he is living in sin.
And Christ's blood covers ALL sins. Praise God! Apart from Him, there is none righteous, no, not one.

You lie, cuss, adulterate.. just because you don't commit the sin of being gay doesn't mean you don't commit other sins which are equal in God's eyes... repent means to turn away, but we can never fully do that as we are human. The more I watch the prouder I become and the more empathy I have for Ray. Ray is right. God loves us as we are. To heal we have to accept ourselves as we are. I know Ray won’t see this comment. But there are so many that love him and his music. How many souls did Rays music save for the Lord?

There is such a message in Ray's pre-coming out songs. The saddest thing to me is so many churches will not play his songs anymore because of the choices he's made. In my opinion that means Satan has won two victories. The first is that Ray is not singing for the Lord anymore and the second is not as many people hear those wonderful old songs anymore. Ray, you still belong to Jesus. It’s just that Satan has you in bondage with your weakness in the flesh. We all have different carnal weaknesses and Satan knows what they are. I was saved when I was 7, and I loved Jesus desperately. But I didn’t understand the Holy Spirit in me. I became promiscuous as a teenager and was always convicted of it. I was raised in a quit southern Baptist church and that was my family’s life.
The lord finally delivered me from my promiscuous life style. I finally understood the power in me that would help me. I had a really supernatural experience one night when I was so heartbroken. Father God delivered me from my pain and showed me the lights of heaven while I was driving and I never want to disappoint my savior again!

AMEN. He is my all time best gospel singer. The Lord loves him so much that He will bring Him back! "He says God knows I tried" I think right there is His problem - salvation by works! No one will be saved by works. The wise know that a relationship with Jesus starts with a surrender of the will to Jesus. Its not of works but faith and trust Him him. Our little girl died unexpectedly in my arms. This song, sung by yoy Ray, still blesses my heart. The anchor holds rings true to our life. He has kept us His for the 36 years she's been absent from the body & present with the Lord Jesus Christ. Without Him, 'the anchor', we would have crumbled.

However, it is not being judgmental to call what the Bible clearly says is a sin, a sin. Judging would be saying your sins are worse than mine or I'm better than you. The sad part of this video is the part where Ray talks on how no one knows if they can be a Christian. The only person who knows that is Jesus and you, the frightening thing about that is him saying that no one can know what being a Christian really is. If this is true, then the Bible is not the inerrant word of God, and the scriptures are faulty. If that is the case, then Christianity doesn't exist at all. I don't think Ray is trying to point that out, but he has a universalist mentality by default by simply stating that no one can know Christian doctrine. What is the point of scripture other than that alone? The part where Ray failed was when he said "I tried everything I could do, I did everything everyone told me to do." And that is the problem. Men will struggle in sexuality until they stop relying on themselves to change. Ray, I'm sorry buddy but there is nothing you can do to try and be good. BUT, you can give it to the Lord, fall in love with Christ and let him change you into the man he has called you to be. Repentance is simply changing a mindset about sin. The problem with his view is the reliance of behavior modification, and that's not how Jesus works. There is still hope Ray. Come on man...return to truth.
+Lee Gaesswitz Ray and anyone else who thinks they can't know if they're saved are WRONG. We have that blessed assurance once we trust in Jesus' death on the cross. Once we believe and accept it, we are saved. When He was asked what is the will of God, what did Jesus say? "Do good works and you'll be saved"? NO. He said "The will of God is this: To believe in the One He has sent." Not just believing that Jesus exists, but that what He did at Calvary was for YOU, and that all of your sins - past, present & future - were forgiven at the cross. That also doesn't mean we don't have to go to God for forgiveness, rather it means that no matter what we do, our sins are already forgiven because He knew we'd commit them. He knew we can never live perfectly enough to be saved on our own. That's exactly why Christ came. To do what we can never do.
We also need to maintain one on one fellowship with God. That means daily prayer, time in His word, daily praising Him (something we need to do all the time!!!), and going to Him asking forgiveness when we stumble. The problem with Ray and so many other "gay Christians" is that they think their homosexuality isn't a sin, when it clearly IS. When you try to point it out, they use misinterpreted scriptures or other means to defend what they think is true. So Ray and other "gay Christians" are saved, but they miss out on blessings and also cut themselves off from God's plan for their lives by continuing to sin willfully, whether they realize it or not.

Precious Ray, God still loves you and don let judgemental people discourage your ministry. Lying, stealing, adultery, coveting, etc. are sins as well and none are without sin. Ray is such a great singer and his songs witness to me so dearly. I cannot condone his lifestyle but I love him just like I love everyone else. Praying for him.
I don’t believe it is up to you to condone or to sit in on judgement…..My grandma and grandpa raised me to “ stay in my lane” and to just worry about how I conduct my own life.
We were not put down here on Earth to judge one another, but to come with love and acceptance. I embrace people who stand by God, even when His followers do not. As I was taught “God doesn’t make mistakes”. Perhaps God is not testing the LGBT community as much as He may be testing those who sit in on judgement of them……

Deborah, we are told in scripture to part ways with professing believers who refuse to repent from sexual sin. Paul even says to put them out of the church until they repent. I love Ray Boltz, I hope God continues to work on his heart because his music has had such an impact on so many of us.

Ray, I have loved you and your songs. It had inspired me a lot and I pray those lines minister life and bring light to your heart as well! God loves you the most, even more than your new partner.
More so, God is so interested in the lives that have been tied around your ministry and ministrations. He can give you messages via your songs and USE you to bless their lives, but that only makes you a medium if you choose to be a sign post that directs others to the way and stays at a spot.
You can drift away from your love, covering, connections and vision from God and still operate in the same way as usual, your annointing and ability to write and perform great songs may never be taken away from you by God, except you loose your peace out of guilt.
God Never took Satan's powers and ability from him... Maybe because that will be an unfair battle/combat.

King Saul was still sitting on the throne many years after the bible clearly states that God had left him, and had taken the kingdom from him, Sampson "stood up as other times.... But the spirit of God had left him" Judas did dine with Jesus, listened to his words of wisdom first hand, but was still lost... Many others. We CANNOT feed every feeling we have. The life of a Christian is supposed to be ruled by truth and the leading of the Holy Spirit, not Feeling!!!

Dear Ray - I came across this song in a moment of deep despair. I have known your music for years but, for some reason, I had not heard this arrangement. It ministered to me on many levels. God spoke to me through its words. Powerfully! Then, I remembered you're "that guy". And, then I realized, this song, at this time, with its words was God showing his love YET AGAIN to me. I too am gay. I was raised in the Pentecostal Church where Jesus Christ himself could not enter heaven with their rules, judgements and vitriolic attitudes. But a beautiful thing was revealed to me long ago that "I AM A WHOSOEVER". There are no asterisks after the word in any Bible. "Whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved". "Whosoever believes in Him shall not perish". "Whosoever believes he was raised from the dead".....And NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD. Before "Christians" spout Romans 8, they should review Matthew 7 and remember, when words are spoken in the name of God, judgement is double. And, DO NOT judge us because we "sin" differently than you. All of us have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. But, the lamb slain for the salvation of our sins covers us all - not rituals, rules, bigotry, perfect attendance, right hair cut, elbows covered or through any other thing! it covers us all. It made me so sad and so shocked when my friend told me that you were gay. You were one of the singers I listened to as I was growing up, my friends listened to Michael Jackson or billy idol and so on, but I always was listening to you and Petra and David and the Giants. Sadly, he is, in the Bible it says that it is an abomination for a man to lay with a another man. Those are strong words. Ray seems proud and happy with his choice. He left his wife of many years and his children to to go live with another man. It had to hurt his family, because, I had all his CDs from the 80s and I couldn’t fathom how a Godly man could make that kind of choice knowing full well what he wanted to do was against God’s will. I put his CDs away and haven’t listened to him since I heard what he did. He was selfish in his choice, and he made a bad decision. I pray that he turns back to God, and repents, and walks away from homosexuality for good.

I have had 2 very openly gay "christian" friends in my lifetime. one is playing the roll of the wife at this time, drinking, playing with life now, and has absolutely no thought of what is going to happen at the end of this life. the other one made a choice also. he repented with a humble heart and no longer lives in sin. I listened to what you said, and I have a comment. You "tried" for 30 years, but you gave up. What about a single heterosexual who has attraction to women, but is not married. They must resist the temptation to commit fornication, too. The truth is, as long as they keep trying, even if they stumble, they have to get up, brush themselves off, and keep on living holy lives. I am not a legalist, but when we start to say that our struggles define the truth, and God's Word doesn't really mean what it says, we enter a slippery slope. We begin to think our wisdom, our belief, our viewpoint even trumps the scripture. Then we find ourselves believing a lie! I am praying for you that you will see the truth once more. James, I read this reply and am really in awe of how you put it. I read no condemnation in your words at all either. And you are absolutely right! Further, the same holds true for anything, whether it be a liar who struggles with telling the truth, a thief who can't keep his hands off other peoples belongings, a drunk who can't stay away from his alcohol, and of course the list goes on and on. I remember several years ago I was battling a situation in my own life, doing something that I absolutely knew was wrong, but since I didn't have it within myself to stop sinning, I basically told the Lord that if he wanted me to stop it then he needed to take the desire from me because I couldn't help myself. Nevertheless, it didn't have a good outcome, and once my sin was found out, my world came crashing down around me. I nearly lost everything. Thankfully, God forgave me, and although I caused a lot of pain to my family and loved ones, healing has been coming......albeit slowly (over ten years). God never left me, and through everything it has brought me closer to the Lord, and even some others have drawn closer because of what happened. Anyway, I realized my actions were the same as if a parent would tell a child to stay out of the cookies, and the child telling the parent "if you don't want me to eat them, you shouldn't put them out there." It doesn't work that way, and if we don't bring out flesh under subjection, then we will get corrected.

Doesn't he say he remembers them NO MORE??? As long as we are in this flesh, we will continue to sin until we receive our glorified bodies, period! I got news for ya, you aren't perfect and Ray boltz's sin is no worse than yours...It is by GRACE are ye saved through FAITH; and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT OF GOD: NOT of works, lest any man should boast...Eph 2v8,9 Christ didn't come and die on the cross to have sinners stop sinning-NO-he came to make dead people alive again!!! If Ray has received the gospel of GRACE which is 1Cor 15v1-4 then he is SAVED FOR EVER MORE........GRACE ISN'T FAIR SELF RIGHTOUS PEOPLE AND YE ALL NEED TO GET OVER YOURSELVES AND TAKE THAT THAT BONY FINGER OF CONDEMNATION AND PUT IT WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE
