This is my favorite arrangement of this hymn. I have listened to it about 20 times so far, and it never gets old. And I pick up on new musical technicalities with each listen. I recommend sharing this with all your friends. :)
Right now is a crazy time for the world. With each passing moment it seems to get scarier. The spiritual foundation of the world is eroding more and more swiftly. Make your foundation firm in the Lord! Do not fear what lies ahead because in the end we know we are on the winning side! Love you all
The arrangement was perfect for men’s choir! The way these men sang it was very powerful and you can tell by every single person that came on the camera sang it with power and strength. If the conductor is strong and alive, the choir will be the same. Good on conductor
I've listened, and will listen to this version forever. I think it's the best ever, with all the voices blending in together. You should be very proud. I love this hymn!!! All the best to you.
I watched it live from the JS Memorial Building. I was so moved I've never forgotten it. Here I am in 2021 still coming back. Hosts in Heaven must be proud of y'alls performance.
I have been looking for this rendition for a long time! I saw this for the first time when I was serving my mission in Cape Verde, Africa and I had the most powerful spiritual and physical sensations from it. 3:52 is PHENOMENAL. Chills! Bravo!
This song has gotten me though alot of rough patches, but this would always fill me with the spirit that was undeniably strong and true. Now I'm soon to leave on a mission to serve the lord and to spread his word, thank you mens choir for this amazing performance
1.How firm a foundation, ye Saints of the Lord, Is laid for your faith in his excellent word! What more can he say than to you he hath said, Who unto the Savior, who unto the Savior, Who unto the Savior for refuge have fled? 2.In ev’ry condition-in sickness, in health, In poverty’s vale or abounding in wealth, At home or abroad, on the land or the sea- As thy days may demand, as thy days may demand, As thy days may demand, so thy succor shall be. 3.Fear not, I am with thee; oh, be not dismayed, For I am thy God and will still give thee aid. I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand, Upheld by my righteous, upheld by my righteous, Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand. 4.When through the deep waters I call thee to go, The rivers of sorrow shall not thee o’erflow, For I will be with thee, thy troubles to bless, And sanctify to thee, and sanctify to thee, And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress. 5.When through fiery trials thy pathway shall lie, My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply. The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design Thy dross to consume, thy dross to consume, Thy dross to consume and thy gold to refine. 6.E’en down to old age, all my people shall prove My sov’reign, eternal, unchangeable love; And then, when gray hair shall their temples adorn, Like lambs shall they still, like lambs shall they still, Like lambs shall they still in my bosom be borne. 7.The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose I will not, I cannot, desert to his foes; That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake, I’ll never, no never, I’ll never, no never, I’ll never, no never, no never forsake!
Interesting that they sing a hymn by a Christian that believed in a different Jesus than the LDS church believes. This Hymn refers to the Trinity of God the three in one that we were created in His image. ONE GOD in three persons. ONE Man in three parts, body, soul, spirit.

When men of faith unify their voices, you can feel the sheer power of their conviction

It was arranged by Paul Busselburg.
