As a Dad trying to teach his 7year old, I will try and memorize everything that you said here, but do you offer like a service where you can put this information in written form also, which could be downloaded? Hey I’m Madeline I play softball I’m a good hitter and a good catcher and a decent outfielder and I’m good at in field sometimes, but I’m afraid of getting hit becaus I got hit in the eye with a grounder and I got a concussion from that. So I’m still a little scared. This helped a lot.

I don't know where or when infielders began slapping down on ground balls with their throwing hand !
I was taught to field and RECIEVE grounders with the basic " V" principle, with my throwing hand open palmed , rather than risk spraining/jamming a finger on a bad hop ! Please respond or enlighten me why they use this way of fielding!

I broke my nose while fielding a ground ball on a rocky ground and ever since then i have been terrified of the ball.I cant field nothing without clinching up or trying to field it away from my body.Even with good posture im scared it will hit me in the face.Pls someone send tips on how to fix it.
