Simon Gras I dunno bout that but i do know that alphabet was so perfectly created you can read most korean in under 10 days... even like a day if you were that good
@@simongras2092 No. You're referring to Hangul, which was indeed created in a very short period of time, but Hangul isn't a language. It isn't even a script. It's simply a phonetic alphabet used to pronounce Korean. It would be similar to Katakana in Japanese, Pinyin in Chinese, or the IPA for languages in general. South Korea doesn't actually have its own script, which is why even today historical, government, artistic - basically anything that requires a high degree of specificity - must be written in Chinese (Hanja). However, most Koreans don't know their Chinese very well, leading to the current practice where most written Korean is using Hangul. But if you want to get a senior level position anywhere, you better take your time and learn/relearn Chinese.
@@joewalker4420 I can read 한글 after 4 hours watching video, most people do so beacaus 한글 is really simple (and logic) writing system. Hardest part is there are sound that not exist in my native language.
So much respect for that girl. Speaking 12 languages like that is hugely impressive and very hard. If I could chose between any skill I would chose that.
Sorry, but it's not. She doesn't seem to be able to have a long conversation and her vocabulary seems to be very poor. Sometimes I wonder whether people are racing for who learns most languages. To me it's nonsense bragging around. I just learn a language because I want to have a deeper connection to that place and because I know that I will need it in the future and I will visit that place quite often. Languages are forgotten so easily if you don't take them to a solid B2 level. What impresses me, honestly, that's people who can talk about ANY topic in 8 different languages. Only THEN I will feel impressed.
@@momonatu4998 Just because she can't show her potential in 5 minutes, doesn't mean she can't have a long and deep conversation. She was literally jumping from one language to another in seconds, and yk... it's hard. There're many studies that confirm that when you learn other languages, your knowledge of words tends to get a bit small...
@@oscwinnt That's not necessarily true, it also depends very much on your level of education. I think you can have a short conversation within a couple of minutes beyond "hello, how are you". Jumping between languages is not that hard, maybe you have some interference at the beginning but you can communicate, if you really know. It is hard, if you have beginner skills.
@@momonatu4998 Why cant you be impressed by other people's skills, there is no need to be rude. If you watch her videos you can clearly see that she is quite comfortable in all the languages (maybe other than Russian and Arabic). She's lived in or studied in most of the countries whos languages she's speaking. It is really difficult to speak languages comfortably when you constantly have to quickly switch between them and while you're trying to keep up a character. Honestly I wanna know how many languages you speak because I speak 3 fluently and even then switching languages is really difficult.
You don't have to be smart to learn languages. Just committed. I learned 3 growing up speaking it naturally, and 3 more through sheer effort (although my Italian needs a LOT of work haha).
@@jchen8902 +1. I think that some people learn quicker or better than others, it's not necessarily about intelligence, though memory capacity, pattern recognition etc. are connected to intelligence. Nevertheless I do myself respect people who speak multiple languages more than let's say monolinguals.
In case you are ever interested in learning a language, you don't have to be smart to learn it and learn another one after, even both at the same time (not recommended though). As I see it, you just need a motivation, and time. For the record, I'm 15 and I must have the most common intelligence level in the world, and still i speak spanish, english and italian, first one is my native, the second one I learned it with a teacher and third one on my own
@@valentinpoggio5389 how do you learn languages on your own? i’ve tried all the apps like duolingo and stuff but they only teach the basics and i want to be fluent
I learned to learn languages on my own using a video on Kaufman's theory to learn anything in 20 hours, and since I wanted to learn Italian and that was precisely the skill that the video used as an example, some steps were already done, so it was easier for me. The bad thing is that the video is in spanish, so I don't think it'd be useful to you, but there's a lot of videos on Kaufman's theory in english. Nathaniel Drew has great videos about how he learns languages on his own, those were also really helpful to me, and although he doesn't use Kaufman's method, his methods are quite similar. And last but not least, NEVER use Duolingo or those sort of apps as a unique source of learning, they can be useful for vocabulary for example, but they're not at all something that will teach you to speak fluently. Hope that helps
Not really. If you hear Jangmin, the half Korean half Spanish guy from World of Dave speak Korean, he has a thick Spanish accent. I am Korean Argentine, and have half Korean half Argentine cousins, and they have a very thick accent when they speak Korean. Same with my mom. She has a Korean accent when speaking Spanish. At times, she has a hard time differentiating the L and R, because in Korean we use one letter to do both sounds.

@@tipitip5919 Actually it is impossible to determine which language is the most difficult in the world since it all depends on what your mother tongue is. Many Asian languages have their own, unique writing systems and that alone makes them hard to learn. having said that - Arabic is definitely among the most challenging languages to master.
Knowing this many languages, you'd assume this person doesn't really need to ask for direction. The signs on the streets are clearly in the languages she speaks...

Nah, Google Translate is shit. It often translates sentences way too literally thus completely misses the original context due to the complex nature of language itself. After all these years, there has been no improvement in that regard.
@@narasaless But isn't Brazilian and Portugal Portuguese very similar? I mean, a Brazilian and Portuguese can communicate perfectly fine with each other no? It's not like American English vs Welsh English, where we literally cannot understand each other.
People commenting here that she is not fluent in speaking other languages, are you dumb? Who the hell is gonna speak foreign languages fluently and native-like? It's too much to appreciate already that she can speak so many languages.
Not only is it fun to surprise people with that skill, but that's such a USEFUL tool whenever you're traveling. Whether if another person needs help or if you need help, it'll definitely come in handy. No need to Google Translate or look up certain words/word characters. @@jalo7289 i do agree with you. he/she might feel good complaining about his/her friends struggle to talk in Korean because she is Korean and speaks it fluently as the mother tongue. if she's trying to learn a new language and is mocked by the mistakes she makes, she probably would've responded differently. the comment made was a year ago and I hope by now he/she has realized that no one can perfectly speak a foreign language in just one week. she should've encouraged and helped the friends and not put them down.

Simon Gras I dunno bout that but i do know that alphabet was so perfectly created you can read most korean in under 10 days... even like a day if you were that good
Feel 4:44
@G P how many languages can you speak?
The high-five to "steal" people's language was a really cool idea. Also, dang I miss Hongdae lol
damn twelve languages? how smart she must be, people like her have my all respect 🙏
