- Ukraine is unable to repair its Western armoured vehicles because they have not been provided with the proper equipment, Russia’s defence minister has been told.
Sergei Shoigu heard the account from a Russian soldier as he inspected a Swedish infantry fighting vehicle on the front line, apparently seized after being hit by a shot from a grenade launcher.
The defence ministry said in a statement: “During the inspection of trophy equipment, Lieutenant General Andrei Mordvichev drew the attention... to the lack of spare parts, tools and accessories in the armoured vehicles.
“[This] makes it impossible to carry out operational repairs in the areas of combat operations.”

Due to the bulk and weight of the modifications, only six soldiers can be carried.

For me as a Sweden who is a nerd when it comes to technology, economics, history and basicly everything with military technology I think that Russian generals whose inspecting the CV9040 here isn’t that sharp and doesn’t learn anything from this vehicle, if russia now finds this vehicle to be useful and reliable in the war they maybe want to start producing an extremely similar version of the CV9040 but the problem is that they probably won’t be able to produce it because of money, materials and corruption but it’s still sad to see that one of them has been abandoned and then found by the Russians and how they can acces our secrets of making Combat Vehicles (CV = Combat Vehicle, for fun :) ) and what they can learn from us. I mostly think that only the electronics and rare parts in the vehicle is the stuff that the Russians is looking for because it seems like Russians and the russian government says that their tanks and artillery and IFV’s are better than the western made vehicles and equipment so they don’t bother trying to make a better tank by using technology from us because they think their tanks are superior.
CV90 is as heavy as T-72 with all upgrade but protection aint much better than BMP-3. I dont see where it so superior...

Blue prints and design specs are easier to get than copying manufacturing. NASA had all their documents for the space shuttle in public records but the soviets only managed to complete one copy/redesign

CV90 is powered by a Scania V8 engine. The only simple part of the machine.

But as soon as a serious war begins, the ratio that comes first - always and constantly - is: price / quality / maintainability in the field / speed of assembly and production of equipment. And in this we, the Russians, have no equal. Ask them yourself, but I’m sure they’ll say, “There’s only one (two) goals: to survive and complete the task.” So it turns out that what is beautiful and shiny is completely unsuitable for the harsh realities of war, and this is precisely the idea that our (Russian) engineers put into their creations, which are excellent in terms of the above-mentioned ratios (price/quality/assembly speed, etc.). That is why not a single Western boot (soldier) dares to dream of being not as a prisoner on Red Square. Yeah, that is false. Knocked out vehicles aren't repaired on the spot they are disabled, and some times recovering them isn't possible.
And ukraine doesn't have to repair the vehicles themselves, they are shipped back to the West to handle any serious repairs and they are shipped right back.

The RPG hit k*lled the commander. And its the most common self propelled rocket launcher in the world. And its not disabled because the survivors left the vehicle after seconds. CV failed against an RPG now imagine an RPG42 or a Kornet

The vehicle was not defeated by an RPG-7 most likely. From the quite decent footage we have of the vehicle, the whole thing - bar a single composite armour block in the turret cheek - seems completely intact and servisable.
This intuitively feels more like a Tiger 131 situation where the vehicle was lightly disabled an subsequently abandoned by its crew in prestine condition.
What sets the Tiger 131 situation apart from this CV90 is the fact that the Tiger had its turret jammed, where as this CV90's turret seems, again, completely servicable. And even if - and this is peculation - internal systems were damaged, preventing the main armament from being properly utalized, the hull is completely unharmed and in very good condition which would mean that the crew had every capacity to retreat with the equipment they were provided.
Tl:dr; Based on some light analysis of the vehicle, damage and situation as a whole, the vehicle seems to have been abandoned by the crew as opposed to disabled by enemy fire. Which is no fault of the vehicle's design.
