Absolutely, and mostly it's just a pile of mistakes 🤣

I cannot help but admire a man who has blown up electrics with water/pva and then decides to activate a power feed on un-insulated wires! You are the DON! :) Quick tip - if you wet electrics again let them dry for 48hrs and then spray with dedicated electrical contact cleaner (Get it from Halfords)....all should be well. Second quick tip - I spray all my track with sleeper grime outside before it goes anywhere near a baseboard. I am glad to see that no animals were harmed in the filming of this documentary:)

Your response is admirably restrained and phlegmatic , personally I would've gone full Basil Fawlty and taken the nearest branch of shrubbery to the layout ....

    Hi Craig,
Providing the boards don't get too hot, you could paint the boards and any permanent joints etc with clear nail varnish. Silicone grease works great on any terminals or anything that you can disconnect.
I use both on my Solar Garden lights and my Christmas lights
    Dave 👍👍

Fair play to you Craig, you've certainly learned from that incident, thankfully it hasn't cost you more. An honest error, I've done a good few of them myself. All the best dude. Brian 🤘

Like I said mate, not here to hide the truth 🤣😄
Hopefully it continues to give folks confidence to build their layouts, showing if I can do it - anyone can! - and if you do come across any problems, which I do TRY to show, then you can get over them 😄

I agree, if you're honest, then folks can appreciate that there's always something that will 'mess' up when building a layout. That's the proper way to learn, and your 'electrical' knowledge is better than mine, but we are but mere mortals compared to some others, lol. Keep up the good work dude.

OOPS! Fizz-crack! Clean your rail-heads with the pimply side of hardboard off-cuts! Less abrasive than a track rubber/grinder and it absorbs any stray oil as you go!

I did offer to do it for ya . And you went and nearly blew your layout up . Oh dear well we all learn from our mistakes. Trust me I've done worse.
