    Have you considered reaching out to your contact at your old store regarding your pochette metis? I would try that if I were you. Just as a general rule for me, when LV offers to take the bag back, I always do it bc it wasn’t an easy decision for them financially (not just my bag but all PM or multicolor in the market etc) and you never know when they will change their policy. I hope you can get it resolved. Not just the money but this kind of thing leave a bad taste. Happy wishes!

    I keep all my receipts even groceries. I need them in case proof of purchase is required. I keep them until I know I’m satisfied.This is a must in the U.K. I suggest if dealing with Fashionfile choose purchase with original receipt just to be safe in future. You never know❤️

    There have been waayyyy too many problems with LV and their glazing! It scares me away from them for sure! Also Jennifer, their return and fixing policy seems to depend on the two people standing at the counter and their views at that moment! I bet if you went back to different people at either this counter or another LV store, you would get different responses each time.

    Something similar happened to me with LV, except I had receipt, original box, everything. I bought a new Marignan around 5 years ago in Chicago…loved it and everything was great with the bag until a few months in the microfiber lining started to smell…the only way I can describe it is a mildew musty odor. Very strong where other people can smell it if I carry it. Just terrible. When I used it it made my small leather goods smell as well. I didn’t do anything right away because I don’t live near a LV boutique and I was hopeful it would go away with time. I finally took it to LV in Nashville green hills and talked to manager and a sales associate…explained everything, never spilled anything in it, etc. They kept the bag and got back with me a couple of weeks later. I figured that would give me a new bag or give me a store credit for a bag…they’ve done that before with my neo noe that had glazing issues. They replaced the neo noe with a new one. I was prepared to buy a more expensive bag if they had offered a credit. But their response was I could replace the lining for around $1000 out of my pocket. That’s almost half the price of the bag new. I think it was $2200 -$2400 when I purchased it. It was definitely a flaw with the lining and they didn’t stand by their product. I thought about taking it to another boutique and try again, but not sure. I can’t use it and can’t sell it. I had sales receipt, box and everything. They said it was not a known issue with this bag and their policy does not allow for a replacement. I haven’t bought anything else from LV and probably won’t. Now I’m more into YSL, Gucci, and Celine. They lost a good customer and I’m sad about it. Sorry for the lengthy comment, but I’m sorry they did similar to you. If there is a quality issue, for that price bag, I think they should make it right with the customer. It’s not true if you buy new they take care of you…I’m proof of that.

      My Marignan also has a slight but different smell that isn’t pleasant, I wonder if more people have noticed but not brought it to the attention of LV. I have an appointment schedule for a call with LV for a repair, I am definitely going to ask about the Marignan at that time.

      @@luckatyPlease let me know what you find out. I just took mine into a second boutique in Dallas when we were there last weekend and they also sent it off. Just heard back today they are not going to repair or replace. I have receipts, box and everything and it is well taken care of in great condition except for odor. Ugh! Very disappointed in the brand…quality has gone down and they are not standing by their products. I’ve got my classic collection items from LV that I’ve purchased over the years, but not buying anything else.

    I thought LV only had a one year warranty. They replaced my very 1st one when I had an issue with the zipper right under the one year mark. Another one had issues with the handles and they replaced those. They both happened under one year and had no issues with them taken care of. The glazing being gooey sounds like could be from heat or humidity. I can understand that they would only have a warranty for the original purchaser. I didn’t think they are marketed as lifetime warranties.

    I’m so sorry this happened to you, that would be upsetting! Especially because you are honorable. If you think about it though, not everyone is as honest. Not only could bags have been stolen and resold (as happened to my sister in law), but some people buy them for considerably less on eBay and then return known defected bags to LV expecting to get a new one in return.
    I blame the depravity of morals for this situation. I really hate it for you though!🥺♥️♥️

    The same thing happened to me with Coach recently! I purchased a bag years ago, back when they were lifetime guaranteed. Well, the glazing came off the straps, so I took it in for repair and they tell me their policy changed and will now only repair for one year. How is that okay? Part of the reason I bought it from the boutique in the first place was because it had a lifetime guarantee and they won’t honor it. Ugh!!!

    Thanks for this video Jenifer! Great content and I love your earrings!! I love Fashionphile!
    Wow… very disappointing about LV. About 5 or so years ago, I received an LV Danube as a gift. It was a preloved bag. We are annual season pass holders for Disney World and I wanted a smaller crossbody to wear while visiting the parks. The bag was in perfect shape. However, I did want to replace the vachetta side tabs, they were starting to wear. I sent LV an email requesting what I wanted to do. They replied with requirements with what they needed to do this, which included many pictures of the bag. I did tell them that it was a gift and I didn’t have a receipt. They sent a confirmation letter/response that they would replace the side tabs and I had a certain amount of days to respond to their offer. Well life happens and I totally forgot and never got the side tabs replaced. My my, how things have changed!!!! And not in a good way!!
    Many of my LV bags are in great condition and are preloved. I plan on passing them down to my granddaughters. It’s sad that they won’t stand by their products any longer.

    Good discussion. I think most very high end fashion houses, and definitely the big 3 (Hermes, Chanel, LV) won't touch anything from a reseller. I get it. They have a right to do it. Do I think it's silly? Sure, but I get it. But now it's just a matter of the consumer being aware. If you are going to buy pre-loved and you are positive about it's authentication, just be aware that any repairs or refreshes will need to be done by a good quality cobbler or leather worker. You will probably get just as good of work for less money and probably less time. Advice for everyone: if you purchased new from store, keep the receipt (scan it in into your computer and just keep in a folder on google drive) or make sure you have a client account that tracks the purchases, then you can rely on the company itself for repairs/exchanges, etc. If you plan to purchase secondhand, find a good craftsman in your area you trust because once you buy pre-loved that store is done with that item. You most likely can't take it back to the source. I didn't think this was new information. I feel like luxury houses have been doing this for several years now.

    • @sheritee7328
      @sheritee7328 7 месяцев назад

      Unfortunately, even if you buy new from the store it doesn't matter if you have all receipts. The stores only have a short period of time in which they will do exchanges or repairs at no cost and that period of time seems to be getting shorter and shorter. It can take a few years before something is gone wrong because the same bag isn't used daily.

    • @danielle2661
      @danielle2661 7 месяцев назад +1

      @sheritee7328 oh, I didn't even count the no cost. I always assume they will charge something for repairs, which is why I said a local craftsman would likely be cheaper. And unless there is a known issue and recall (like that period of time with the pochette metis) I wouldn't think they'd take it back after a certain time. If they offer exchanges for known issues, do it at the time. If you wait years to take it in, they will likely tell you that window has closed, despite the fact that the glazing is a known and acknowledged issue by LV and they did, in fact, take returns and exchanges for a time. Can't sit on your hands with these issues.

It is a known flaw in the metis line that many of my clients shared with me, so many -most of those bags were faulty and that’s where they -LV lost money is their poor quality said my clients…….Also one client said, they took her preloved flawed metis bag and exchanged it no problem thus it looks very poor of LV to honor some bags that were flawed and not others like yours. I hope LV does the right thing for you, as so many of my clients have a sour taste for LV now and only buy preloved. Keep us posted, blessings 🙏🏼

    Would LV have repaired it, if you offered to pay for repairs? (Eg, like for a car, out of warranty.) In Australia, we have a RUclipsr who gets many of her pre loved pieces refurbished, but she pays for it. Just a thought. Great video, and I love your channel.

    Would the company repair the PM with the issues, asking for a replacement is probably the issue. I’ve purchased preloved LV pieces, I’ve had leather changed on canvas pieces, I’ve had glazing redone and broken zippers changed, I’ve never requested a replacement though, not sure how I feel about it. I ordered the Bouloge, and will get it delivered Saturday, I hope the size works out for me, love the black leather and canvas combo and the strap options, bonus that I can use those on other LV bags I have in my collection.

      @@JustJennifer I can wrap my head around them not wanting to fix it for free, not totally agree with it, but this SA saying it is not repairable, doesn’t make sense. I would take it to a different LV store or contact the repair service through the LV app and ask for a FaceTime call and see if repairing it is possible. I wouldn’t leave it to one persons opinion in one store. Handling and storing bags in damp or warm places or in the box vs. just the dust bag can affect a bag’s condition and cause the “melting” of the glazing, the company can’t be held to replace all issues arising from storing situations. I had a glazing issue on a speedy in Empriente leather and was able to return and got full credit for it and it was at least five years old, it was a known issue no matter the how it was stored, I also had a PM in reverse monogram have cracking of the canvas where the bag opened and closed, poor design if you ask me with the new thinner canvas, the monogram canvas which was thicker did not have that issue, I traded it up to an Empriente leather and have had no further issues with cracking as the bag in leather can withstand years of opening and closing without causing cracking. I say try a dif store or the repair team through the app and see if you can get a better response.

    I completely agree with LV’s perspective. Unfortunately there are a lot of dishonest people who purchase “used” bags with known defects and try to get a new bag from LV.
    If I purchase a used Speedy 25 for $900.00. I don’t think it’s fair to go to LV several years later and get a replacement if an issue should arise.
    LV guaranteed replacement to the original purchaser, not the purchaser of the original purchaser.

    I’m sorry that happened to you . But I must say that a lot of places will not take something back without a receipt. Not saying that you stole it but someone may have stolen it and sold it on the pre loved market. This does happen and they would then be out the price of two bags . They would have taken it back with the receipt (that says something that 10 years later they would have!) . As far as preloved market . I believe that many designer stores also sell their excess products on the pre loved market. (They used to destroy their excess products. So I don’t think they necessarily dislike the preloved sites. They can then get some money without having to have discounts or sales which we all know they do not do 😊

    Hey Jennifer, that is awful about LV. I have heard things are getting much more hairy and declining with the brand. I have several bags and I love mine, and my accessories, but I have no plans on buying anymore right now. For one they have tripled in price and I am only willing to spend so much. I love designer bags but think some take advantage of their customers. This being a prime example. It shouldn't matter where you bought it they should stand behind it. Considering they have gone up significantly in price, yes, I know the economy is in an awful state right now but they should stand behind it. Period. I see the logic you mentioned but that just does not sit well with me. I hope you can do something with it. I pray nothing happens with mine. I bought the black and monogram print off fashionphile myself a few years ago, and paid more then it was worth b/c I couldn't find one just like it and I don't think I have the original receipt either. Yikes! Love the Hermes earrings!

    They don’t have to replace a bag that can’t be proven as an original purchase but they should repair it when it’s a known manufacturing issue. And still for free if it’s an authentic bag. It’s an error of manufacture not user error. They should stand by the product regardless of if you are the original purchaser. What if it was a gift and you didn’t want to make the gift giver feel bad that their gift sucked? If it’s a manufacturer known issue than they should repair it for free. Not replace it but repair it.

    I have a problem with a business of any kind not wanting to fix an issue with a faulty product. Especially one that cost as much as a major appliance. LV has astronomical prices on something that will wear out. However, for a 2500 plus bag, with known issues, they should agree to fix it and then offer to tell you it’s a one time courtesy. If you choose a repair or a replacement , it’s a one time deal. Look at all these people, me included, who are stuck with over priced refrigerators that break in a few months. Now because of that, nationwide mind you, the government has gotten involved. Last I heard LG is now in a lawsuit

  • @clala1106
    @clala1106 7 месяцев назад

    From strictly a business or contractual perspective, you aren’t their customer when it comes to this specific bag. No company would replace an 11 year old item that was not purchased directly, and might not even if it were. That said, being that this is a known issue they should have offered some kind of resolution.

    No, you do not need any proof of purchase. As long as it is authentic, the item itself is enough. If the Sales Associate determines it is fake, you will be kindly informed that it was not manufactured by Louis Vuitton and a repair will not be possible.
    Will Louis Vuitton repair a pre-loved item that I bought through a reseller?
    Because Louis Vuitton does not require a sales receipt, it is just as easy to request a repair on a pre-loved piece. Again, as long as it is authentic, it does not matter if you were its first owner or not. However, if the style is very vintage, Louis Vuitton may no longer have the original parts to fix it. If this is the case, Louis Vuitton will not repair the piece

      Well, according to the manager at the Orlando Mall at Millenia location...it is authentic. They will not replace it without the original receipt, and it can not be repaired. I have an upcoming appointment with an LV client services person to get more information. I was offered a full replacement in May of 2019 at the Oakbrook LV store. Either things have changed, I was treated poorly and was given incorrect information from the Orlando store manager, or something. Hoping to get to the bottom of it soon. Thank you!
