I really hope Mathias gives us more games set in Eldrea. Theres so much we've yet to see, like the fungus-consumed Galtena, the homeland of the Baki, or the story behind the mysterious Masked Man. I definitely want to see more of this world, regardless of the timeline or specific characters.

I don't think I've ever fallen so hard for a game since I played Lisa the Painful many, MANY years ago, and that's my current favorite game of all time. Given a bit more time I could definitely see Chained Echoes taking that spot. I genuinely don't have a single gripe with the game aside from the fact that I wish the skill board was bigger so you don't get into the "i already have every skill i want so i'm just gonna pick random stuff that i might situationally use maybe but probably not ever" situation in the late game.
Man, chained echoes is a masterpiece. I love this game so much! I know you touched on it, but never have I seen a game come so close Square's best work. The whole game is like that! From combat, story, dialog, art direction, map design, and music; every part made me feel the way I did playing the classics as a kid
Didn't forget, we just cut that bit out of the script (along with some other references). Personally we also pronounce them differently - "lean" vs "len," but that might just be us. Gives fans a reason to comment lol.
Ienjoyed this one but I stopped playing when they were pushing the mech combat which I did not like one bit. You can only play a few characters and the mech stuff is just really unengaging and basic

Like the Grandia series the battle system stands out.. I just started but I’m definitely glad I added this gem to the collection

Chained Echoes is great, if you like JRPGs just buy it, you won't regret it, I promise.
