  • When it's too wet to ride the Otways and the roads are covered in snow in the High Country, it's the perfect time to venture through Victoria's little deserts. If you've never visited the North West areas of Victoria, then you'll surprised by what we have install.
The little deserts of Victoria area unique mystical place. Great for exploring on motorbikes but equally wonderful to experience the history of an area once thriving with activity. What remains today are small towns, a shell of their former self, battling to survive in this ever changing climate.
This tour will see us follow the South Australian and Victorian border from Frances to Pinnaro.
Most of the tracks on this tour are sand, both compacted and soft. You’ll need considerable sand riding skills for this tour, this is not a tour for beginners. Ideally suited to single cylinder bikes 250cc to 690cc. But if you are an exception sand rider then Tenere 700 and KTM 950 or 990 will get you through.

Hey mate, Been loving all of your vids, keep it up!
Quick quandary for you….If you had your time again, would you go the DRZ again or a different choice?
Why did you choose the DRZ over the DR650?
I am leaning toward the DRZ400 as its out of the box performance off road is better and thats where I Will be spending more time, with the ol reliable nature of the DRZ it means more time riding, less time wrenching….And the on road adventure riding requirements can be solved by some new sprockets like you ran for the big trip….
    Thoughts??

Thanks for the comment and for taking the time to watch my videos. I chose the DRZ400 because it gave me the best of both worlds, at the time I was a newbie to motorbike riding but I knew the DRZ400 would give me the ability to ride some single trails and I could also ride it on adventures. I still think today after 34,000kms and no issues with the bike that it was a great choice. I am purchasing a Tenere700 soon but this will be a daily ride and will allow my wife and kids to sit on the back. With either bike you can't go wrong. Enjoy!

@@MileMunchinAdventures Thanks for the insight :) it sure has proven itself time after time! For not only yourself but many other Aussie and international intrepid adventurers.
I live in Thargomindah in South West QLD so I am in the thick of some glorious countryside that needs exploring and sometimes it just can’t be done easily in a 4x4.
Enjoy the Tenere700, when I first saw them they looked like a great thing, I had an MT-07 at the time so knew the engine was a winner with its torquey character and even since release its always been a positively reviewed bike with some minor tweaks to get the most out of it like anything which is encouraging!
I look forward to your future endeavours :)
