Good job, we did it about 2 years ago as well, but it took us 10 hours roundtrip. It was at least a short enough day that we could go back to Bishop and have Mexican food before the restaurant closed.
The View alone from the top of this mountain on a clear day makes this worthwhile. Fairly easy hike if you get acclimated a bit and makes you feel like you can see forever.
Jon & Teresa's Epic Adventures Thanks for the info. Looked like a great hike! We were just up in Big Pine hiking up to the 3 lakes over there at 11,5k ft. Really wanna crush a 14er this summer. Good on you guys for making it up and that PB & J looked delicious!

Just the idea of driving up from sea level to camping at 11.7k sounds challenging.
Thank you for sharing this video and can you please telling me the name of the entry thank you so much
so about 2500 ft of elevation gain? so other then the altitude not to bad of a hike? nothing technical it seems, thanks for sharing!
Pretty easy hike. No shade at all though. There are a few downhill spots that then become uphills on the return that we hated. 😂
3.2k (gain)
Awesome! How’s the drive up to the trailhead?
It is quite a few miles (I think 16 miles), but the road was in decent shape other than it has washboards in quite a few places.
