I learned more from this video about solar power/charging than any other. Thank you.
Nice video, thanks for adding the product you found on Amazon in your update.
Great video!
Awesome! Thank you!
That’s a propane grill though
That’s a pellet smoker that runs on electric
@@UTVGuide101 oh I just seen what may have looked like a propane line running behind the grill. Appreciate you responding. Keep up the great work.
Nice video! But I haven't been able to do it. Have same Jackery, a 45 ltr 12v refr, 100 watt Renogy panel. Problem is, over night, Jackery was down to 20%. Could not recover next day while powering the refr at same time. NC, August, full sun, no clouds. By 2PM, Jackery was at 55%. I then put the system on AC. Took until 6PM to get Jackery to 100% while powering the refr. At 6PM, very low solar performance. At that I was very careful to orient the solar panel. I'll try again but 1st try seemed like a pretty good fail. I'd be more confident with a 1000 watt station, with pass through, and 200 watts of solar. So do the math: My 12v refrigerator draws 35 watts. But at about a 50% duty cycle, it's like 20 watts. I have to run it for 24 hours / day. That's 480 watt hours per day. I simply can't get that from a single 100 watt panel. The Jackery et al, is only a buffer for non-solar hours.
Excellent, thanks
wondering if I could use this to run my rv frig? your thoughts ty
Depends on the fridge
Excellent video! Thanks for the time you spent showing how these things REALLY work, without the loud music and over-exaggerating. Shoud have over 100,000 views.
Hello, Are you interested in testing our products? We would like to invite you to test the Full Windshield for your 2021 Can-Am Commander XT-P
This is exactly my sinerio. I just bought an Iceco 35, have a Jackery 240 and wondering if a 100 watt panel would be enough for now. Thank you for doing this,
This is the exact video I needed! Thank you so much for doing real world test. I’m about to mount solar on my roof top tent to charge my Jackery. My Jeep isn’t keep up charging Jackery as well right now by itself since it only charges while Jeep is running
Kicked ON, not kicked off. Good test, though.
Do you know about how long it will run with just the battery with no solar panel?
This is the best test on RUclips !!
What is the camping like is there cabins
Good job, we did it about 2 years ago as well, but it took us 10 hours roundtrip. It was at least a short enough day that we could go back to Bishop and have Mexican food before the restaurant closed.
just to confirm you were not opening the fridge? so it would be even more difficult if you are opening it and putting things in to get cool. hmmm
That cooler takes forever. My Dometic will go from room temp to 35F in an hour.
Excellent information. Thanks for your efforts.
John the tire geek !! Ha ha !

I found it very annoying not having constant power to the hot trailer wire. When we RVing and boondocking and it's cool enough for the furnace but not wanting to run my little generator, with one RV battery, the furnace only runs until about 5 AM. It would be nice to be able to start the truck with my remote and have power going to the RV battery which needs 10.5 volts for the furnace to run. I can now do something to fix the problem.
Beautiful area! Was it busy?
Exactly the test I was looking for. Thank you very much.👍
Thank you bro, I have a eco-flow delta camping battery and this whole time I thought it was the eco flowl
try opening the cooler 15 times/hr like in real life!
Just got at 40L bougerv fridge to run with my 300 wh power bank and 100 w solar. Now I know it’s doable . Thx . Was worried I had to buy another power station.
It’s definitely do-able, as long as you have sun
Great test
Hiked Mt Dana in 1962. Don’t think I could do it again!
What radio system are you using
Rugged Radios
Do you think it's possible to run this fridge and a small portable air conditioner with this setup?
Looks amazing!
Amazing destination
What kind of communications do you use?
Rugged Radios
Easy to set up and get running when we have power outages. I especially like the dual fuel feature as I don’t need to worry about aging gasoline and keep both on hand. Live in Texas where web had some power outage issues the past couple of winters and this gives me peace of mind for the refrigerator or small appliances as needed.
Did u do black bear pass
We didn’t
UP HILL ALWAYS HAS THE RIGHT OF WAY IDIOT!
Did you think of just switching pins to the running light pin? It's also a 30amp fuse and all you would need it rewire your plug.
Has someone marketed a device yet that will do this for you?
Good info, thank you
👍
I have a GoalZero Yeti 500 with running an ARB 50L fridge and I was wondering if I had to get a bigger power source or use this same set up would it work. Thank you for saving me money!
Thanks for the info! I didn't know you could have Power coming IN while Power is going OUT. I've got 2 EcoFlow River Pro's with 720watts, and while using one to power the Fridge, I use a 100 watt Solar Panel to recharge the other one.
Absolutely amazing that baby Jackary is keeping up with the solar input when comparing to the output. One assumes the fridge compressor isn't running all the time which is cool. It really says something about that power bank. It would be interesting to see how long a larger 500 or 1000, not that everybody has access to the larger more expensive unit, but still the run times would be much longer even without solar. Really cool review.
I have a budget but still very good powerstation with about 1200wh from Amazon, i leave it in the car to power my 50l 12v compressor fridge, without recharging i get about 4-7 days if i put the fridge in eco mode and 3-5 days in max mode, it depends on the ambient temperature inside the car. I also have plugged in the powerstation to a 12v car outlet and a 100watt pd charger, so i get about 170-195 watts of charging while driving, 30 minutes of driving the car per day and i can run this thing forever 👍😎👌
With this kinda test it's about math. This 12v fridge and most of them draws a max of 45w when the compressor is running and pretty much 0w when it isn't(LED draws so little it fails to register even 1w sometimes). I have one of these fridges and it only turns on once at most once very hour for 5 about minutes(temp is 2C or 35F). So it's actually on for about 70mins in 24hrs at 45w. That's very little usage. The solar is rated at 100w but even in the best conditions there's so going to be some efficiency lost and gotta take into consideration of other variables like temperature and clouds. On sunny days you're probably averaging 75W for at least 8hrs and 40w or less on cloudy days. As long as the battery can power the fridge overnight you can pretty much power the fridge indefinitely off of a 100w solar panel. Fridge is on for 70mins/24hrs @ 45w vs solar charging and using non-optimal conditions here just to prove a point, 8hrs/24hrs @ 40w. Good test. Even though I already knew the outcome because of the math, it's nice to see it put into actual practice.
Great video thanks again from Australia
I bet that fridge would've run longer on DC. You have loss from the inverter and the step down AC converter on the fridge. That is taking up power. I have both the Jp40 and Jp50. (I have videos on both fridges. That I go way deep in the weeds on.) I haven't ran them on my Bluetti EB200p yet. Other than to see how much power they pull on both modes. My two Iceco's bounce a lot, the wattage. 48-58w on high mode. 28-35w on eco. They are descent units. I'm hoping they last through continuous use. The temps are off on both.
It does! We have a little bigger ICECO and I use a Bluetti AC 200. It lasted longer plugged into the 12v than on the AC.
I was told never take it below 10 percent.
We wanted to test it out.
@@jonteresasepicadventures7341 you only hurt the life of your battery.
@@margaretharris65 certainly understand that but we felt the test was warranted
@@jonteresasepicadventures7341I think the phosphate batteries can handle 0-100%. You are good! I just got the 1000 plus and I’m picking up a used iceco today!
great test
I have the 300 unit as well. It ran my fridge with my solar panel connected to just fine. It kept my 300 fully charged. That's a strong test.
