Ghostin is abt her being in a relationship with Pete Davidson then dealing with the sudden death of Mac Miller (her ex/best friend), who died from a overdose. The song is Ariana trying to grieve the loss of her soulmate while ultimately realizing what a toll this is for Pete and that their relationship is over. (Loved the reaction btw)
I don’t agree with the last phrase abt their relationship being over, Ariana actually said but I love you, we’ll get through this, we’ll get past this. This is definitely a hope for the continuation of their relationship
@@slavaseyranyan3971I mean, Pete himself did say in an interview that when Mac died, he knew it was over (between him and Ariana, despite them staying together for a bit after mac’s death) but that he was willing to be there for her as long as she needed him to be despite the fact that he knew the death of Mac was the beginning of the end of his and Ari’s relationship essentially
fun fact: Ghostin was supposed to have a 3rd verse, but Ariana couldn't get through the recording without crying and her friend, Victoria Monet, had to finish the missing vocals.

Appreciate the genuine reaction and I respect your opinions. I think having context of everything she was going through at the time adds more insight to the songs. A lot of the songs are deeper than they may seem at first listen. I think you missed just how vulnerable this album is and how for the majority it isn’t about her being a prize or a bad b*tch at all. Needy is about her feeling emotionally needy due to all the baggage she has and her ptsd, anxiety, and depression. She wants companionship, emotional support, and to feel like she’s good enough. Fake smile is pretty self-explanatory about how overwhelming fame can be and her not wanting to keep up a persona of being happy when actually she’s miserable in her personal life despite her career doing well. She was dealing with so much and had people making up the most ridiculous things about her. Imagine is Ariana being in denial over a relationship that ended and no longer exists. It’s a love that was beautiful and is forever unattainable. Someone in the comments already explained ghostin. In my head is falling for a version of somebody that she created in her head bc she actually didn’t know that person at all and she blames herself for seeing something that wasn’t there. I’d also say that the title track for the album is a pretty original concept considering most people don’t usually write a song speaking well of their ex’s and being grateful for how the relationships in her life have helped her grow.

my problem with a lot of men who react to ariana or other female artists is that they seem to have different standards for women vs men. i watched some of your other reactions and it just seems like you appreciate a lot of rap that’s neither good nor deep, but didn’t appreciate this or it’s musical aspects. you can have your own taste and that’s fine but ig not everyone has good taste lol
not even just that but i watched his reaction to sza's sos album and most of the songs on there have a trap feel to it just like this album and he loved pretty much all the songs from szas album i just feel like men aren't really opened to listening to Ariana like they are for other female artists like sza for some reason

What’s wild is that everyone these days needs to have some sort of creative artistic vision to be critically acclaimed and that’s just not the case this album tied into a deep personal time in her life, this album was not only healing for her but the people around her and that’s why each and every song has a distinct deep personal meaning even though the lyrics aren’t ‘creative’. Some artists are just that good at creating straightforward music, and when that music has meaning behind it, even better
Appreciate the genuine reaction bro! You should give her album positions a listen if you’re looking for more of an r&b vibe and not as much pop! If you get a chance listen to some Snoh Aalegra!

I think you would like to hear "Positions" it's her most recent album and most personal, she was in love with her ex husband Dalton.
She talks about sixnine too, she had a beef with him, the first song it's called "shut up" and the second it's called "34+35=69" she wanted to play with words, this is her most personal album.

one of her darkest albums and the hardest to record, for me it is her best, all the songs are good except nasa and makeup, anything else is amazing in my opinion ;-;
I think the album would be appreciated if you were more familiar with her music but yea I'm not a fan of some of the songs on this album but her "dangerous woman album" and" my everything album" have most of her bangers and creative songs that are on my Playlist
I'd say Dangerous Women or Positions would definitely be more your thing
I know someone already explained in the comments what the story was behind “Ghostin,” but I think it’s also super important to mention that Ariana really struggles to sing that song without breaking out into tears, and she really didn’t want to release the song to the public, but she was forced to keep it on the Thank You, Next album. She said Ghostin was to personal and I’m pretty sure she refuses to sing it now.
Love the reaction🙌 but for a first time listener of Ariana especially if you have a different taste, cause trust me i love ari but some of her songs sounds basic, but I think you might like her Yours Truly album or the My Everything album and maybe the Dangerous Woman album?
