I have my I Pace now almost 4 years without any problems, just now in heavy rain water is leaking into the car at the driver side because the windscreen wasn´t glued propperly or the glue is aging or whatever. i can not blame Jaguar for this fail because the car was mounted by Steyr Magna in Austria. I guess i will do a video about that later. Most of the time i am drivig through citys and on country roads so my average energy consumption is 20 kw/h wich means my average range is about 420 km over a year. By the way, on german TV i saw a interview with the CEO of Munich`s bigest Taxi company, they have a fleet of Jaguar I Pace working since 2018 and the cars have done between 170 and 190 k kilometers but the batterys are still in good condition. Actually the water leak is a well know factory defect, the dealer said. Our iPace was leaking from the top right/driver side as you said, they fixed it for free but still, one would expect better for this price range.
I have an iPace for just over 3 years now. I bought it new and have been very happy. However had experienced several problems that have been quite annoying. The charging cable has twice now been stuck and unable to remove. The dashboard shows green mode for charging and just says complete. Even locking and opening does not kick it out or into initialising mode even if I disconnect the cable from the wall. To solve this I had to open the front bonnet and location in the corner the red wire loop and pull this to unlock the cable to be removed. The second problem recently was I left the car at work for 4 days 85% charged when I returned it triggered a theft notification and the doors where unlock and open but the car was completely black and dead. Roadside recover had to reach right under the glove box and turn a round switch many times until the front bonnet popped. He then used an emergency start batter bank, he removed the plastic cover in front and below the windscreen at the front and in there was surprising a normal car battery, he clipped on there terminals and the car came back to life. It started but I need to drive around for an hour to ensure the battery was charged up. A year ago something similar happened when driving, I stopped to let someone out of the car, then it just seized up, instrumentation displayed but the car would not move. Roadside recovery came and same thing they put emergency power on the small normal car battery and were then able to drive it on to the recovery truck. Also the first winter (I live in Norway) the two hydraulic support arms for the boot seemed to freeze and when opening it the plastic sleeves on both arms just seemed to snap off and drop down loose. so had to have them replaced. The final problem which has been there since the day I bought it is the driver seat position memory. Its very hard to reproduce and the dealer does not believe me but on four occasions my wife and daughter who used to keep their settings in memory slot 3 both nearly got crushed as when they pressed 3 the seat and all settings tried to move the seat the maximum position basically crushing them against the steering wheel. the first 3 times was terrifying and lucky they managed to get out in time. The fourth we realised pressing 3 again cancels the auto seat positioning. We never use 3 as we are too afraid. hope these things help.

Having had an I-Pace for about 10000km here's what I think of it: A wonderfull baller car, proper head turner, goes like lightning, cheap to run, cheap to maintain, very modern without going overboard in terms of design and usability. Hovever, having said that, I had a few issues with the car. Plastic door handle trim broke on both rear and front passenger side doors, 360° camera got distorted, parking sensors along with automatic parking function just died (in the infotainment they became grayed out) and the biggest issue was range. Mine could BARELY go over 120 miles, which is why I returned it. Hopefully I was just unlucky, I am considering getting another one but I hope I won't have such horrible experiences with battery anymore. Also - the seats are very uncomfortable which is funny considering my example was speced out to 137000€ (white on black HSE fully loaded). Still the best car I've ever owned and hopefully will buy it issue free.
That’s awful re the range I’ve certainly not had that issue I’m glad to say! Interesting comments re the seats, we have found on longer journeys you they’re not great but I put that down to no air suspension. However after driving a RangeRover Evoque for about a week now while the I-PACE is being fixed I have to say the seats in that are a lot more comfortable…
It seems to me you have had a lot of bad luck with your car. I bought my own Jaguar I-Pace in November 2019 and still drive it every day. The ONLY issue I have had with the car is that after two years the front wind shield developed a leak after a very heavy hailstorm. Called the dealer, brought the car in, they checked the problem, affirmed that I was right and reglued the entire windshield and that solved the problem. Other than that, the I-Pace has been a wonderful car to drive. Very fast when you want it too, very comfortable otherwise, low maintenance, low cost driving Am getting around 430-450 km (271 miles) in summer, around 330-360 (~215 miles) in winter. Good seats, loverly interior, low noise. Software could be faster (and is since the 2020 model). Charging could definately be faster but had never been a problem nor issue for me. Will be keeping my car for at least another year...
Hi thanks for your video I have had my I pace for 1 year. It’s a 2022 I have had no problems but experience 1 week ago not being able to shift into reverse or drive and the car was at 80% charged.
We also had all sorts of issues in 3 years. Charging cable failed. Various software charging problems with specific chargers which left us stranded. Windscreen lost its seal, so all rainwater coming in (this is a known issue with jaguar/land rovers, so the dealer said). Heating system failed too. 😫
I have had an ipace for almost 3 years now and it's been just brilliant only had 1 issue the charge flap would not open but Jag took it in gave me another ipace to drive. While they fixed it the experience in the dealership is fantastic coffee cake. I love this car drove to to Spain through France, it was a dream to drive. I would have another in a heartbeat.
Thank you for this video. I've subscribed to the channel a few days ago when I got the car ( just been 10 days). I already have a leaky frunk and have a snapped force / quick release charging cable cord. You do mention no issues with charging but did you have the solenoid/ charger get stuck ever without letting the cable detach or have seen it as as issue?
Thanks for supporting the channel! I’ve not had an issue with cable not releasing. However I do remember when I first got the car that I didn’t realise at first that you had to press the unlock car button twice to release the cable and if you’ve set up two stage unlocking you have to press it three times.
Really interesting video, I’m thinking of buying a used I-pace ideally 2021 version which is as far as my budget will stretch, was worried about the reliability and the general cost of the services and parts etc
Absolutely love my I Pace! It’s the only car I’ve ever kept for 3 years & I will keep it another 12 months just to see what’s about then? Very tempted by the 2023 I Pace 400 Sport & that’s currently top of my list. Mines white with the Black Pack, Panoramic Roof & 22” Diamond Cut Alloys & to me, it’s the best looking I Pace on the road in this guise. I will spec my 400 Sport exactly the same but in Ostuni Pearl White this time. There’s not another 4x4 SUV EV to touch it for performance, road holding, class, load space, a ‘proper’ Dashboard & looks for the price!! If anything, my only gripe is the range is not enough especially on Motorway driving in the Winter.. 150 miles & you need a full charge (3 years of twice a year driving 280 miles has taught me that). Thank you Jaguar & the after sales is unbeatable & the best!

I have very bad experience with Jaguar XF, had to visit workshop every month.... and finally sold it after 3rd visit in 3 months and it made me loose my confidence in Jag but besides this, it was a good car to drive.... I wanted to buy ipace now, but this video reminded me of my past troubles...n now i dont want Ipace any more
Unfortunately JLR don’t have the best reputation for reliability. I’m still enjoying the car, it’s not put me off. Just done a 700mile round trip and reminded me it is a great car to drive.
A friend had an XF which started eating it's gearbox at only around 75k miles. No symptoms, but found metal particles in the oil when changing it. It's like British Leyland lives on in JLR 😂
@BlatentlyFakeName the gearbox isn't a JLR box, it's a ZF one. It should've been serviced at 60k miles, but sounds like it wasn't. All boxes will have metal particles after that mileage.
I bought my iPace 4 weeks ago (2020) and there was damp in the frunk. I was advised to dry it with a hair dryer and it would stop the build up of condensation from the plastic lid under the bonnet. I didn't think this would work, but to my astonishment there has been no damp since, despite rain and washing, so we will see.
5:32 I thought I should share my experience with the ipace that I bought. It was brand new and almost immediately. I had so many issues that I finally paid a premium to get out of my lease. This car was towed three times over a distance of 200 km to a dealership. it was towed several more times to a closer dealer when I was in the city. The issues are varied. I have never been in a car that was so poorly manufactured. In addition I sent several complaints online to 5:32 jaguar Canada’s head office. The online form said that somebody would contact me immediately. Two years later I still never heard from jaguar Canada. Nevertheless, I will never buy a jaguar product again. FYI the Tesla model Y that I bought has been wonderful.
I am extremely happy with the Tesla. I find that it drives as comfortable as the Jaguar and it has had absolutely no issues. Highly recommend it over the unreliable IPace. .
@@medicakmciathe Tesla has gotten a lot better over the years. The Y is pretty smooth for the most part, I'd put it 7 or 8/10 driving. There was one time that I lost control over the highway with it on a turn. I'm not sure if that's the weight or suspension or what.
Apart from the well publicised and concerning issue. On multiple vehicle diagnostic inspections, I've found numerous electrical problems, all based in poor manfacture, and consequent ineffective QC protocols. A nice vehicle overall, although as an auto electrician, I'd never entertain purchasing one.
Great videos…interested to know if you would still purchase an I Pace today? Yes other options provide better range / charging speed but perhaps not the driving dynamics and luxury?

I have my Ipace for around 4 years and the first 3 years was practically perfect except the wet Frunk issue, still not resolved. Then about 6 months ago car left me stranded, towed to Dealer. Aux Batter issue, got fixed. 2 months ago would not start and was having issues reading keys, Dealer fixed. 2 weeks ago car qone black out mode. Car total blackout, turns out 12v battery needs replaced. I love my Ipace, but its getting a little annoying with multiple tows to Dealer within moths of each other.
Thanks for sharing and it’s certainly not gone well for you lately! Re the Frunk it was definitely a leak in the seal for the windscreen which led to further issues (you can see my later videos on this). Water shouldn’t be getting in there. I’m glad to say no issues since the windscreen was sorted…

My only concern is - how can I be sure of how much battery life is left? A new batt pack is probably the same as the value of the car so how long will I get from a second hand (2019) model? EV's are so new - there seems to be limited info on battery degradation. Any thoughts?
Hi, if you’re buying from a JLR main dealer ask them to perform a battery test and get them to give you the printout. If buying privately perhaps ask the seller if they’ll get this done? I think this will become something we’ll all want to see when buying second hand EVs in the future.

The important thing is to ask them for a full report of the battery. I wouldn’t buy a second hand EV without this. Warranty on the battery is 100,000 miles or 8 years…
A real bargain for expensive maintenance cost. Get a Lexus with 100k and you are still good! Every time I see a new jag I'm wondering if its a lease and if it'll hit 30k miles without issues. I've Diag them and they suck to work on, but I guess its a hit or miss with them sometimes you get a lemon or sometimes you get lemonade until its all gone.
Good afternoon! I still found the problem, I have a Jaguar 2020 mileage of 40,000 kilometres, the charging unit buzzed because the coolant got inside. Replacement under warranty, I've been waiting for the block for a month and a half.
7:20 November 2023 Autotader has iPaces with under 20k miles going for £23k. Staggeringly-good value now, but horrendous if you purchased one brand new in 2019/20.
Hello everybody, I have I-pace and I'm very happy owner but my air suspension isn't so good. Suspension is so hard, i have audi q5 2015, touareg 2016, ford edge 2017 but jaguar looks like a wood 😂😂 I pace seems bmw x3 e83. Is that ok?
There are quite a few reports of these just randomly launching themselves at full throttle when the accelerator is touched, as if the throttle sensitivity is glitchy. Not good. The car being in the garage half the time is just normal life with a JLR car. Price doesn't match the quality.
Is anybody expereienced an unbalanced whrrr sound around 60-100 km/h from the front of the car? I didn't remember to have this when i test drove an i-pace, and now i cannot unhear it. When i drive around 130 km/h is really noise it is around 75-80 dB when i checked with an applicítion. Is that normal? Any idea what could be the cause?
Just been watching a video interview regarding an EV ipace going at 100 miles an hour plus with the driver not being able to stop it, The Police had to force it to stop not only once but over twice over a three month period. Check it out on RUclips
We had ours from new in 2021 last year it went into Jaguar for 3 1/2 months after the update blew the batteries we’ve had it back only 2 months and back in to Jaguar because it’s died even with 92% battery
That charge port bun is a really cheap looking and inconvenient solution. In my Audi e-tron that is a fixed one which you can get out of the way by just a flick of a finger.
Currently now under 20k Feb 2024. Well worth a look, as I was planning a tesla....but couldn't do as I can't stand Elon Musk! Think I'm going to bite the bullet and get on an I-Pace in the summer.
He does nt seem to have much of a problem, so I'm not sure why he has bothered moaning about it.I have had mine 5 years next month and can say I t has been fantastic and I now get 274 range after charging which has gone up 15 miles since I first had it.😊
Wait a minute! A Jaguar having issues?! WHO WOULD HAVE KNOWN! Anyone that has a Jaguar, Land Rover or Range Rover should be happy their cars just don't blow up past 30MPH!
JLR have now recalled all of their EVs due to the risk of the batteries spontaneously catching fire. Not good and happening all too often. These things are too volatile. There's good reasons the motor industry progressed to combustion engines decades ago. When do you ever see progress going back to the past.
I had it for 4 years and i had not the slightest problem; perfectly made and great to drive. The only reason i sold it, I changed to a smaller car! 👍

Thank you for the video, exactly the info I needed to know. I currently drive a 2017 RR Sport diesel and thinking about going for 2nd hand I-Pace. My only concern is - how can I be sure of how much battery life is left? A new batt pack is probably the same as the value of the car so how long will I get from a second hand (2019) model? EV's are so new - there seems to be limited info on battery degradation.
Any thoughts?
Hi, if you’re buying from a JLR main dealer ask them to perform a battery test and get them to give you the printout. If buying privately perhaps ask the seller if they’ll get this done? I think this will become something we’ll all want to see when buying second hand EVs in the future.

What standards are in play? Is it legally binding after a sale? we know old cars used to be "clocked" for milage - how do I know this is not the same?
If it’s from a Jaguar main dealer then I wouldn’t be concerned but share your concerns with them and/or check with JLR direct.
I just bought a 2019 model and am getting over 260 mile range, no issues so far
Seen one that’s just over 80k miles that’s grabbed my attention.
What are high mileage ones like?
The important thing is to ask them for a full report of the battery. I wouldn’t buy a second hand EV without this. Warranty on the battery is 100,000 miles or 8 years…
A real bargain for expensive maintenance cost. Get a Lexus with 100k and you are still good! Every time I see a new jag I'm wondering if its a lease and if it'll hit 30k miles without issues. I've Diag them and they suck to work on, but I guess its a hit or miss with them sometimes you get a lemon or sometimes you get lemonade until its all gone.
Seems like you had some bad luck with the heater, as I understand these all have heat pumps which a lot of Premium EVs don't have! Useful review, 👍

Good afternoon! I still found the problem, I have a Jaguar 2020 mileage of 40,000 kilometres, the charging unit buzzed because the coolant got inside. Replacement under warranty, I've been waiting for the block for a month and a half.

7:20 November 2023 Autotader has iPaces with under 20k miles going for £23k. Staggeringly-good value now, but horrendous if you purchased one brand new in 2019/20.
Hello everybody, I have I-pace and I'm very happy owner but my air suspension isn't so good. Suspension is so hard, i have audi q5 2015, touareg 2016, ford edge 2017 but jaguar looks like a wood 😂😂

There are quite a few reports of these just randomly launching themselves at full throttle when the accelerator is touched, as if the throttle sensitivity is glitchy. Not good.
The car being in the garage half the time is just normal life with a JLR car. Price doesn't match the quality.
Is anybody expereienced an unbalanced whrrr sound around 60-100 km/h from the front of the car? I didn't remember to have this when i test drove an i-pace, and now i cannot unhear it. When i drive around 130 km/h is really noise it is around 75-80 dB when i checked with an applicítion. Is that normal? Any idea what could be the cause?
I haven’t had that issue, doesn’t sound right so I’d get it checked…
Just been watching a video interview regarding an EV ipace going at 100 miles an hour plus with the driver not being able to stop it, The Police had to force it to stop not only once but over twice over a three month period. Check it out on RUclips
We had ours from new in 2021 last year it went into Jaguar for 3 1/2 months after the update blew the batteries we’ve had it back only 2 months and back in to Jaguar because it’s died even with 92% battery

Yeah, ur leaking 60,000 3 year old car leaking is definitely down to wear and tear. Common knowledge that.
That charge port bun is a really cheap looking and inconvenient solution. In my Audi e-tron that is a fixed one which you can get out of the way by just a flick of a finger.

Currently now under 20k Feb 2024. Well worth a look, as I was planning a tesla....but couldn't do as I can't stand Elon Musk! Think I'm going to bite the bullet and get on an I-Pace in the summer.

He does nt seem to have much of a problem, so I'm not sure why he has bothered moaning about it.I have had mine 5 years next month and can say I t has been fantastic and I now get 274 range after charging which has gone up 15 miles since I first had it.😊

JLR have now recalled all of their EVs due to the risk of the batteries spontaneously catching fire. Not good and happening all too often. These things are too volatile. There's good reasons the motor industry progressed to combustion engines decades ago. When do you ever see progress going back to the past.
