  • It’s time to try two different “bloom” techniques with some gorgeous color-shifting pigments!
    #sheleeart #acrylicpouring #fluidart #thislittlepiggy
    The first painting I’m doing is a standard bloom blow and spin. Even though my paint was a bit too thick, it turned out really cool!
    The second painting is a spin swipe, inspired by ‪@lisamarvinart‬! I really want to get better at these, and I have some ideas about how to do it better next time…
    Invented by Shelee Carruthers, the SheleeArt bloom technique involves three different pieces:
    1. A “pillow,” usually house paint straight from the can. Eggshell is best but any sheen should work.
    2. Paints or mica pigments, mixed with a specific pouring medium, recipe below!
    3. A “cell activator,” usually Amsterdam paint mixed 1:3 with Australian Floetrol. If you can’t afford that, try Amsterdam Titanium White mixed 2:1 with water instead!
    Here’s how I mixed my pouring medium! • Mixing A Pouring Mediu...
    I then mixed it with the mica pigments and paints (plus extra polycrylic, when necessary) to create a medium-thick, creamy consistency.
    Pillow: Black semigloss house paint (Color Place)
    Cell Activator: 3:1 Australian Floetrol and Amsterdam Titanium White
    Bright Aqua Green (Blick Studio Acrylics)
    Dioxazine Violet (Creative Inspirations)
    Velvet mica (This Little Piggy interference pigment)
    Indigo Waves mica (This Little Piggy color shift pigment)
    Champagne mica (Let’s Resin chameleon pigment)

    Gotta say, I loved that oblong on a circle. Definitely like a galaxy. Also, I think it's great that you shouted out the other artists. I remember an older version of that song, and haven't heard it for years. You do have a lovely voice, if I may chime in with the others?

    I liked the way it turned out ~ like Nautilus shell, or whirlpool. But you had something else in mind.. so, I ask the following:
    Could it be too thick of paint for cell activator? On top of thick pillow of paint? A not-solid surface, but also not acting as "fluid" either?
    I don't know squat, just dharing my observations. Ok? Would love to know answer tho cuz' as soon as I get spinner & room to spin, will be spinning everything I can!😊
    The whole black pillow slid a bit on top of other wet paint, something I could see from camera angle & not bring the 1 doing it. (Like bring passenger in car & not driver; can see things better.) The whole pillow moved as 1, sliding on top of prior wet paint instead of stretching, etc. I am too new to this to know if that's ok/good, or not(?), So just mentioning that in case...?

    • @AnnaBlountArt
      @AnnaBlountArt  Год назад

      My pillow paint I think was too thick, so the colors couldn’t slide across. I want to try it again soon!

  • @arlenewillingham8929
    @arlenewillingham8929 Год назад

    Do you use valspar 2000 in semi gloss or flat

    • @AnnaBlountArt
      @AnnaBlountArt  Год назад

      For the “pillow,” I believe eggshell is the best sheen, but I’ve used semigloss also. For the “bloom pouring medium,” gloss or semigloss is best.

  • @SnarkasticSunny

    3-4 loops of tape will work better. Centrifugal force is a very strong force!

    • @AnnaBlountArt
      @AnnaBlountArt  Год назад

      Thanks, but 2 was plenty for this! Just enough to stop the slip.

  • @dleigh4534
    @dleigh4534 Год назад

    On the record it might be you are pressing down too much. You shouldn't be able to feel the pillow.
    You have a very lovely singing voice

    • @AnnaBlountArt
      @AnnaBlountArt  Год назад +1

      Thank you! Yes that could be. I think because my pillow was too thick, I had to press too hard.

    • @dleigh4534
      @dleigh4534 Год назад

      @@AnnaBlountArt well ideally you want the pillow to stay put and lightly glide the colors over the top of that pillow. So thickness doesn't matter, unless you want the colors to mix with the pillow.
