A Bloom Vine On A FISH! 🐟 Painting A Rainbow Trout For Trout Fest

Today I’m trying out my first bloom vine - on a wooden trout! I’ll be entering my fish into a contest for Trout Fest in a few weeks.

My pouring medium is 2 parts US Floetrol to 1 part Gloss Medium and Varnish (Creative Inspirations brand, bought from Jerry’s Artarama). Find Molly’s mixing video here: • Fluid Art Pouring Medi...
All my paints are mixed more or less one part paint to 2 parts pouring medium, then thinned with water if necessary to reach a thick or medium-thick consistency. For the mica pigments, they are mixed into gloss gel first before adding 3 parts pouring medium.
Titanium White (Creative Inspirations)
Light Magenta (Master’s Touch Acrylics)
Pearlized Dark Green (Master’s Touch Acrylics)
Metallic Copper (Creative Inspirations)
Olive Green (Creative Inspirations)
Payne’s Gray (Blick Studio Acrylics)
Sea Glass (This Little Piggy mica pigment)
Velvet (This Little Piggy mica pigment)
Cell Activator: Amsterdam Black mixed 1:2.5 with Australian Floetrol
I’m sorry that my overhead camera cut out mid-video, so the view wasn’t as good for the tilting process! While tricky to cover a shape like this, it worked out ok in the end. Save your swirls for after tilting so they don’t get warped!

Love the idea of a bloom on a fish. I live along the Miramichi river in NB 🇨🇦 and we have a huge Bass tournament during the month of may to compete for the stripper cup! Love your art Anna!

We have a big trout festival here in east Tennessee too "running of the trout" i was so glad to see this! Very neat idea of a bloom vine i think i would have used a double cell activator one pink and one interference green and done the fish in shades of greens golds coppers and a hint of paynes grey myself but i love this too!! Beautifully done sweet Anna!! ❤❤❤❤🤗
