    Zhiyun have released the Molus G200 COB light which gives impressive, adjustable lighting up to 200 watts and also has a special max mode that gives you a total of 300 watts of output from a single source. This is the followup to the excellent Molus G60 and Molus X100 lights, but now with more output power.
    I've been using these in my studio and they're currently my "go to" light for all my video work.

    Thank you for this video! I was just thinking about getting one and this one sounds like a perfect balance price / quality. Also, the lathern modifier shape was new to me 😂 Love it!

    I like the setup where the lamp and power pack are in separate boxes. That reminds me of the photo Lights DynaLite and Lumedyne. The light head is always up on the light stand. The controller is in reachable distance from the ground. Like it!
    Nice presentation! Thanks!

    With Zhiyun Molus G200, can we safely say it is a wiser decision to buy Zhiyun Molus G200 over the legendary Aputure LS300D II which I am about to buy. And yes for a use case of making RUclips videos :)

    Prefer this or the other compact Zhiyun's for mobile portraiture instead of, or perhaps in addition to video work? Or another alternative?

    Good video, many thanks.
    One question pops into mind; if it "boosts" to 300W, as opposed to be a 300W light, that suggest that it is not designed to be used at 300W much (or at least not for any extended period). So, for how long is the 300W a actually useable for or is it just for quite short periods of time?

    • @3abdangry
      @3abdangry Год назад +2

      that's my question too otherwise why not market it a 300w light. I think it's because of the fan noise is very loud at 300W so they call it a boost mode.

    • @chilee5513
      @chilee5513 11 месяцев назад +2

      I think 300W only refers to the brightness equivalent to a 300W light. This is a bi- color led, so at 4400K is the max output, and you can see when at boosts mood, the CCT changes to 4400K. When we adjust the CCT to other number, the brightness goes down. That is the so call "BOOSTS" mode.

    There is something wrong with the information on this. Zhiyun say the power consumed for the Mollusc G200 is 320w with a maximum Lumen output of 9460. This means that LED module efficacy is 29.56 lumens / watt. This is incredibly low. You would expect a minimum of 100 lumens/ watt from LEDs today By the way Ted a reflector can’t increase the Lumen output but it does concentrate the light emitted to raise lux levels

      @@3abdangry It looks that way but the info on their website is sketchy. The photometric data they provide doesn’t add up for sure. I’m sat at home typing this, I have downlights in my ceiling that my company manufactured in 2010, They have an efficacy of around 70 lumens per watt from back then. They are a similar technology, ie LED module not LED bulbs. I’m very confused has to how inefficient these fixtures appear to be
